Happy Mother’s Day! – by Schfio

The perfect Mother’s Day gift from a LEGO fan! And of course also great for moms who likes LEGO! 😉

This LEGO flower composition is by Schfio. (Just click on the picture to go to Schfio’s gallery.) Note that not just the LEGO brick-built flowers are beautiful but the composition of the photo is really nicely done as well!

Would you like to put together a quick LEGO flower for your mom? Below is a very simple design by LEGO that was released as a set in 2010. You should be able to make one easily just by looking at the picture. Remember; you can change the color of the flower-head; red, dark-red, white, yellow and blue would all look fantastic! 😉

Don’t have time to build a LEGO flower, dont’ know how, or don’t have the right pieces? You can often find beautiful flower sculptures made by LEGO fans on eBay around Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. It is too late to get these for this Mother’s Day, but you may take a note for the future. Happy Mother’s Day! 😀

    Do you know if these models are glued? I assume the stems would be quite fragile.

      David, yes, sometimes these models are glued. Especially if it has a very long stem, or if you are giving it to someone who is not a LEGO fan. There are other options though;

      The most obvious one is to make a shorter stem. If you are using round bricks, you can also reinforce the stem inside with rods.

      An other option is to put the flowers into regular or LEGO brick-built vase. This was the stem can stay inside the vase, and only the vase itself will be handled. And you cna certainly build the vase sturdy!

      ModelGal (Mariann Asanuma) has some really nice examples for this at her flickr gallery:
