Yay!!! I won!!!

Umh… ahem… cough… cough… I don’t want to be boastful, but just wanted to let you know;  I won first place at the 2011 Toys-N-Bricks Micro-Build Tournament!

(See announcement here: Winners for Micro-Build tournament 2011)

See the little Taj Mahal there? Yep, that was my entry! 😉

Thank you guys for your encouragement, votes and good wishes in this LEGO contest! Y’all are welcome to come over and help me build my brand spanking new train when I receive it! 😉

The last time I owned a LEGO train is when I was like 10 years old! And I have been wanting one ever since I have gotten out of my “dark-ages”! LOL!

Also, if you are not a member at Toys-N-Bricks, I highly recommend that you become one! It is a lovely LEGO online-community with a great forum, great info for AFOLs, great contests, and always the latest announcements on LEGO sales and deals at various retailers! So check them out!

I can’t wait to get my train! 😛

    Boast, boast, boast!!

And it couldn’t have been a better train. Limited edition, special offers are the bee’s knees.

I splurged on getting the Emerald Night and drooled seeing the Maersk Train. Let’s just say I’m a bit jealous, but considering the design of your MOC, it’s well-deserved!

And let me be the first to start the applause with a slow clap. 🙂

Thanks, Will! Bring over your Emerald Night and we will have a train-fest! 😛

Thanks, Isaac! And nice to have you stick around! 😉

I just knew you were going to win. Even without seeing anyone else’s designs, I knew yours was the best. It’s just so amazing what you’ve built.

I went around showing off your MOC just as much as I go around showing off our own MOCs. That’s how impressed I was, and still am.

Congrats again and have a lot of fun putting that train together!

UPDATE: For those of you guys who have asked me for instructions; I will work on optimizing the LDD files for instruction purposes so I can email it out, but in the meantime you can go to my flickr gallery.

There are detailed pictures of the parts for each section and details of the columns and the inside conscruction. You should have no problem copying my design from there. See here: Mini LEGO Taj Mahal Gallery

    Enjoy! 😉

Awesome! Congrats on the win, you definately deserve it with that MOC. As for the prize, very nice – I ordered my maersk train as soon as it was available for order and have been throwing money down the 9v track ever since!

It’s a great train (though i would prefer the stickers weren’t over multiple parts!) and looks great running on 9v. One of these days (maybe at brickworld) I’ll pick up another train or a ship so i can build some more maersk blue stuff for my track (buildings, train cars, who knows).

Oh, you converted your train to 9V?! I would really like to hear about that! Like what do you need for it, how you made the conversion, etc. Actually, would you like to write a tutorial on it? I’m sure I’m not the only person who would like to know. 😉

Also, what happened to your tutorial over at the Lime? Was it removed when you left? Would you like to repost it here? I was very impressed with both the tutorial and the photos!

Just let me know if you are interested. 8)
