LEGO Minifigure Series 9 teaser pictures

Usually we first hear about and see pictures of new LEGO sets through the LEGO community grapevine. LEGO frowns upon our practice of trying to find out what’s coming, but what to do? It is so much fun to dig, to play the detective and be the first to unearth some never-before-seen future LEGO set then talk about them endlessly on various LEGO forums and blogs. So sorry, LEGO, we just can’t help it! 🙄

I guess to appease our terrible habit of digging up new stuff and understanding that it is never going to stop no matter what they do or what policies they set, this time LEGO decided to be proactive and release teaser-images of the Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 9 all on their own, and posted them at LEGO’s Facebook Page. 😀

Each of the upcoming minifigures from Series 9 are shown from the back, letting fans guess and speculate of who they are. According to LEGO’s Facebook Page you can check back on the 3rd of December for a better look.

Of course from previously leaked information informed LEGO fans are a bit ahead of the game than most casual followers of LEGO on Facebook, as we already know the names of the upcoming Collectible Minifigures Series 9. But it is still fun to match them up with the pictures, see which parts are used and if there is anything new, and also talk about how the minifigures would look from the front.

For your reference below is the list of the Collectible LEGO Minifigures Series 9 we have talked about before here: LEGO Minifigure Series 9-10-11 News! Can you match up the pictures with the names?

Alien Trooper, Chicken Suit Guy, Maid Marion, Heroic Knight, Cyclops, Mermaid, Fortune Teller, Dr. Splitz, Roller Derby Girl, Judge, Battle Mech, Caesar, Downtown Cop, Plumber, Waiter, Hollywood Starlet

Did you have trouble identifying any of the Series 9 Minifigures? Which one is your favorite? Did you notice all the new parts and accessories?

Any of the Series 9 Minifigures you have questions or doubts about? For example to me the Roller Derby Girl looks more like a boy from the back, so I’m not sure about that one. Also, why is the judge a shortie? What do you think? Share your thoughts below! 😉

I really don’t think the judge has short pants – looks to me like the little hump that attaches the two legs got a bit blended in with the rest of the pants. Admitably it doesn’t quite look like normal pants, but I don’t think he looks short either. Actually, it looks like something inbetween, but I doubt it is. After all, from that picture, you can’t even see the holes of the pants, and I doubt that he really has solid pants! 😀 😉
I really love that ceaser, especially his hat hair! And the waiter has a green bottle!

I think you are right. I looked at a larger version of the picture again, and it seems like the judge is standing behind a ledge. Like a raised edge of a shelf or table. That is why he looks shorter than normal. But we shell see. 😉

I see what you mean about the ledge. Yeah, it does kind of look like that!

The Heroic Knight looks cool. 😀

I think it’s great that LEGO offered these teasers. You’re right. Our desire to find leaked information is not going away. May as well accept that, and feed into it.

Yeah, addicts are addicts, there is not much LEGO can do about it. 😉

  • NRGkai November 28, 2012, 1:13 PM

i have never seen them do this

    • admin November 28, 2012, 7:40 PM

Yeah, this is pretty much the first time they have done this. LEGO has done teaser pictures in the LEGO Club Magazine, and at their website they give some teasers at the new theme micro-sites, but this kind of photo-shopped from-the-back images are definitely first. Pretty fun, actually. 😀

Intitially I was hoping for the battle mech to look really cool and have some new pieces. Unfortunately it seems his head piece is the same going to be used on one of he robots in the upcoming theme galaxy squad, which is a bit dissapointing. The cyclpos is my current favourite and that starfish piece with the mermaid is incredibly rare so I’ll pick up some of those when they come out. Overall it seems we’re in for an exciting new series.

    • gid617 November 28, 2012, 2:56 PM

Actually, (though I can’t confirm; I’m not sufficiently interested in the Mech or GS to compare), several people have said that, based on some video reviews, the robots are different. It almost seems to me like a head could fit under this one, too! 😀

The ‘Maid Marion one looks like it has realistic skin, does it not?

        • gid617 November 29, 2012, 5:20 AM

I think it’s just the photo effects; the cop is really dark blue, for example, and the judge has a red shirt, and the mermaid’s torso is yellow. (There are some slightly better photos… 😉 )

      • Pythor953 November 29, 2012, 11:33 AM

Now that sounds better. I never realised there was any difference. But despite that I no longer like the battle mech. Honestly, it’s just a mini cartoon transformer by the looks. Which isn’t what I was hoping for.

  • Strider November 28, 2012, 1:40 PM

I dont like buying mini figures cause the one time we happen to see them at the store I dont have money with me (or the patience to feel through all the little bags) and its too risky to order them online.

    • gid617 November 28, 2012, 2:59 PM

I agree, the randomness is a bit annoying, but after all, feeling for the minifigs (even if it takes half an hour) is part of the fun! 😀 (At least I think so… 😆 )

    • admin November 28, 2012, 7:36 PM

Strider, yeah, feeling thru the bags takes time, but it is also fun. Best is to go with a friend, so you can go thru a box twice as fast. Or just teach someone at the store who is also looking at them. YOu may even make a new friend. 😉

As far as shopping for minifigs online, why do you consider it risky? I shop for LEGO pretty much only online and never had an issue after hundreds of transactions. You might want to give it a try. 🙂

      • Strider November 29, 2012, 7:41 AM

By risky I meant it was risky to pay money for something you might not get. I mean my sister paid three dollars and didnt get one she wanted so my brother had to buy it from her.

        • admin November 29, 2012, 9:54 AM

Oh, I see, because the bags are random! You can buy them on BrickLink with garanteed content. 😉

  • Ninjoey November 28, 2012, 3:07 PM

    awesome!!!!!!

  • Micho November 28, 2012, 4:02 PM

Is the mermaid’s tail light blue? like Sirena’s???? I sure hope so because I have like 15 green ones… need to get me about 8 more of these mermaids and do some bricklinking for different faces and hair. I also hope the torso is different, I have like 10 mermaids with the same tail and torso, so if this one is different it will make for some great combo’s. Since I only have King Triton from series 8 as a merman, I will also bricklink and buy some male heads and hair to make more merman. I just purchased the last 2 Atlantis Guardians I need on Black Friday in a magnet set so there’s some bad guys. This will make for a very cool City of Atlantis display.

I’m adding Maid Marion to my Medieval Village, and plan on getting a bunch of heroic knights to make a new fraction to fight my evil knights.

I really like to get a bunch of these same figures and just do some face swapping, like the knights and mermaids.

    • gid617 November 28, 2012, 5:49 PM

Yes, the mermaid tail seems light blue and her torso is yellow.

    • admin November 28, 2012, 7:33 PM

I thought you would like the mermaid! 😀

      • Micho November 29, 2012, 10:53 AM

You got me! And the last tail I bought was from your bricklink store… it was the last one you had, I couldn’t pass it up LOL, you can bet if you sell any blue ones I will be first in line =D

        • admin November 29, 2012, 11:24 AM

Micho, I actually have more mermaids, but they are not for sale. I like them too. 😉

          • Micho November 29, 2012, 1:18 PM

            LOL… i know, they’re addicting LOL

  • Steven November 28, 2012, 4:18 PM

    • gid617 November 28, 2012, 5:50 PM

I think Admin did that on purpose… I don’t recall them being in that order in the other lists! 😀

      • admin November 28, 2012, 7:23 PM

LOL! Yeah, I was wondering who will notice it first. 🙄

        • gid617 November 28, 2012, 8:01 PM

😆 I didn’t notice until NinjaNut pointed it out though… I had already matched all the minifigs up so I didn’t bother trying again! 😀

    • admin November 28, 2012, 7:23 PM

      You get a cookie! 😆

      • Micho November 29, 2012, 10:49 AM

That quote is from a 90’s cartoon isn’t it? “You get a… cookie!” LOL I just got a flashback.

        • admin November 29, 2012, 11:23 AM

LOL! Maybe! It is just something we say in my family (and we do actually get a real cookie), but I have no idea where it came from. 🙄

  • NinjaNut November 29, 2012, 9:17 AM
