Win the LEGO Star Wars Yoda Chronicles!

The LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles book is now available and here is your chance to win a copy! If you have been keeping up with our LEGO news, you know that The Yoda Chronicles is a new venture between LucasFilm and LEGO, including a TV series, new LEGO sets, and a story around both old and new Star Wars characters. (For more information see links at the end of this post.) Today I would like to show you the LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles book by DK publishing, a well-known publisher for their beautiful and very high quality LEGO books. Then I tell you how you can enter for a chance to win your own copy. 🙂

LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles Book

LEGO STAR WARS: THE YODA CHRONICLES – written by Daniel Lipkowitz, the LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles should be of great interest to LEGO Star Wars fans. Here is the official description:

LEGO Star Wars fans will jet into Yoda’s galaxy and uncover the truth behind this extraordinarily wise green Jedi in DK’s LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles. This brand-new format features themed spreads based on the legendary Yoda’s adventures, from his leadership of the Jedi council and his duels with Count Dooku and Darth Sidious, to his support of the Wookiees in the Clone Wars and his training of Luke on Dagobah. Specially commissioned photography features minifigures and vehicles in action, with loads of storylines and facts that young readers will love.

Included in the book is a DK-exclusive Special Forces Clone Trooper LEGO minifigure, which is a variation of the new minifigures created specifically for the LEGO Star Wars Yoda Chronicles toy-line. Unique characteristics of the minifigure include officer level classification, newly created blue force-shield, and special helmet and chest plate symbol.

And below is a quote from the introduction to LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, along with the book’s trailer:

Teacher. General. Grand Master. One of the wisest and most mysterious beings in the galaxy, Yoda has accomplished many things over the course of his 900 years. He has led the Jedi High Council. He has commanded armies into battle. He has trained thousands of aspiring Jedi Knights. He has hidden in obscurity on a forgotten swamp planet. He has made great friends and dangerous foes – and met others whose allegiance lay somewhere in between.

From the golden days of the Galactic Republic, through the chaos of the Clone Wars and the evil rule of the Empire, Yoda’s influence on galactic events is as important and far-reaching as the little Jedi Master himself. This is Yoda’s story.

My thoughts on the book are a bit mixed, but this is because I was expecting something different from the title. Generally a chronicle refers to a historical account of facts and events ranged in chronological order. Meaning, there supposed to be lot of writing and delving into the details of events from the perspective of the chronicler. In this case the speaker is Yoda himself, who supposed to be revealing historical events from the past of the Star Wars universe, and that’s what I expected the book will deliver.

LEGO Star Wars Yoda Chronicles Detail

However this is clearly not the case. The book is more in the style of other LEGO Star Wars books by DK Publishing with gorgeous pictures and some text sprinkled around to share interesting details. I actually read the whole book and haven’t found anything new about Yoda that I didn’t know already. So the book is quite light in the chronicle department. This doesn’t mean though that the book is not great. I was just expecting something different.

LEGO Star Wars Yoda Chronicles Review

I still highly recommend the LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles book to any LEGO Star Wars fans. If you are clear on that this is not a chronicle in the strict sense of the term, I think it is very enjoyable. And gorgeous! It is over 60 pages of LEGO Star Wars goodness with lots of interesting tidbits about Star Wars characters and what it means to be a Jedi. To give you an idea, here are some of the topics (again; in  a light-way not in a real chronicle way):

  • Where does Yoda come from?
  • Yoda’s friends, students and enemies
  • Yoda’s wisdom
  • Could you be one of Yoda’s Padawans?
  • How does Yoda change the course of a battle?
  • When was Yoda’s darkest hour?
  • Yoda vs. the Dark Side
  • Yoda at home
  • Can you lift an X-wing?
  • What is Yoda’s Legacy?

The book is hard-cover with a really cool holographic shine on the front and back, and as I said before; the quality is excellent. The book also includes an exclusive LEGO Special Forces Commander minifigure inside the front cover that looks great and doesn’t appear to be Chinese-made. 🙄

      • admin July 29, 2013, 3:29 PM

Yes, that is correct; if the winner doesn’t contact me I will pick another winner. But that never happened before. 😉

  • D.B. Bricks August 1, 2013, 1:33 PM

By the way who was the other winner?

    • admin August 1, 2013, 2:12 PM

The other winner was Leah. I think her entry was #17 or something like that. 😉

  • Legoman640 August 8, 2013, 9:13 AM

Why do I never win these stuff?

    • admin August 8, 2013, 9:26 AM

Don’t be discouraged. There were only two winners, so entering a contest like this means most people won’t win. But it is still fun, and if you keep partipating there is a good chance one day you will be the winner. 😉

  • joanne mawer August 26, 2013, 3:45 AM

I would listen to his wisdom as I seem to need it.
