LEGO The Simpsons minifigures revealed!

Following the trend of finding future minifigures on eBay, here are a couple of interesting ones. An eBay seller from Mexico listed two minifigs from the upcoming LEGO The Simpsons line: Homer Simpsons and Nedward Flanders. These characters should be appearing in the LEGO The Simpsons collectible packets series next year. 🙂

LEGO Simpsons Minifigures Details

Please note that only the heads of the two LEGO The Simpsons characters are new, and are likely leaks from LEGO’s factory in Mexico (just like we have seen many times already). The torsos and legs used on the pictures here are from other already released minifigs from other lines. They are likely used by the seller just to make the characters more sellable. Anyhow, the listing is still interesting and gives us a glimpse of the LEGO The Simpsons characters’ features.

LEGO Simpsons Minifigures

The auction for the LEGO The Simpsons minifigures is already over, but if you are interested in new minifigure reveals, I would recommend adding this seller to your eBay watch-list. They will likely have more of the LEGO The Simpsons figures, and they also listed a LEGO DC Super Heroes Flash minifig, with more leaks likely to come. 🙄

What do you think? How do you like the LEGO The Simpsons characters revealed here? Yay or nay? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I never really thought the Simpsons line was a good idea for LEGO, and i still dont, because i know and believe that LEGO is kid friendly. The simpsons line is for mature people, which is not the target market of TLG.

Nevertheless, they did a good job in the moulds.

    • admin October 14, 2013, 11:43 AM

Yeah, I remember when The Simpsons theme was first rumored, a lot of people got alarmed. Interestingly, at that time LEGO denied their intent to produce Simpsons related sets. 😐

      • K October 14, 2013, 12:02 PM

This goes to fuel the minds of those that say TLG has sold out, but I have to agree a bit with this move….what next? Monster High LEGO for girls? or if it gos the venue of old class…South Park (lol) or more realistically….an adult swim show?

Anyways. More pieces! XP Gotta build them all!

    • awesome October 16, 2013, 4:48 PM

LOL same. I was horrified when I saw this E-Mail :/

  • K October 14, 2013, 11:00 AM

I saw these yesterday. Also the new Flash. And the set with Man-Bat comes with a new Nightwing! The blue part is red instead of blue and comes with a hair like Kai’s but black (thou not sure if it actually comes like that) No Joker’s or BatGirl yet.

On Flash: Remember all those picks that the head seemed octagonal? Well, it is actually pretty smooth. But the yellow paint kinda faints very quickly, some light play actually wears it.

As everything, pic or it didn’t happen. XP

Batgirl’s been on the blog for a week? I think. I wrote about it

    • HP October 14, 2013, 11:23 AM

      How’d you getFlash?

  • K October 14, 2013, 11:58 AM

I saw the pics, but I haven’t seen them around locally. I live in Mexico ^_^, which I guess answers the 2nd question. XP

  • ninja of stealth October 14, 2013, 12:18 PM

this is probably the worst idea LEGO had since Ben 10. sorry but its true. (I’m going to sound like an angry parent on the message boards on lego.com.) this is not age appropriate for children! its not a good idea. then I think, what’s next… this is hard to write. adventure time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE NO! (if I offended anyone i’,m sorry! I don’t want to start an argument with anyone!

    • K2 October 29, 2013, 1:25 PM

      Agreed!

  • ~Brick October 14, 2013, 12:41 PM

I don’t know what LEGO is thinking! Maybe they’re crazy but the simpsons is TRASH! GARBAGE! Despite things that shouldn’t be mentioned on this blog…the figures look like something from MegaBloks! They’ll make things like this, but if you say something like “Hey LEGO, could you make some more detailed Star Wars guns!?!?” “Thank you for your suggestion, but LEGO has a no violence policy, see our terms and service for more information. Thank you for contacting us!” WHY LEGO!?!?
(Also, anybody who likes the Simpsons…don’t be offend.
This is simply my opinion, and I’m not forcing it down your throat.)

    • ninja of stealth October 15, 2013, 12:22 PM

yeah, I agree brick. this is a stupid idea LEGO! no offence. but its true. and I also agree again brick! they look like megablocks! and I also agree again! make more detailed star wars guns! and! and! this is garbage! this is the definition of garbage! brick, you pulled the words right from my mouth! I’m going to quote myself. “this is a disgrace! this, is an outrage!” -me (and yes, don’t be offended.)

      • BuilderFox July 27, 2014, 2:46 AM

I don’t understand what all the fuss is about. All children in America watch cartoons like Simpsons, Sesame Street, Spongebob, etc etc. I don’t like Simpsons theme only because it is for young children and I’m too old for cartoons!

  • Steven October 14, 2013, 12:45 PM

The Simpsons line is a real far reach for Lego imaginers. We know you want to expand a market base, but we have to remember that Lego is for the young hearted frankly speaking the Simpsons are not really for the young even though it is animated. This might be a quicker demise than The Lone Ranger sets.

  • Fikko3107 October 14, 2013, 1:17 PM

    Let the ranting commence…

  • samuel October 14, 2013, 1:23 PM

why? the simpsons is an adult show. none of these sets will make it to my brick bucket.

    • Meneldur son of Garamar October 14, 2013, 1:31 PM

At least LEGO isn’t making Family Guy! I’m going to keep my eyes out for new pieces though.

      • admin October 14, 2013, 2:26 PM

LOL! I shudder at the thought of Family Guy in LEGO!

        • Meneldur son of Garamar October 14, 2013, 2:45 PM

Double LOL! I think we need an emoticon that shudders! That might just come in handy in times like these! 😀

    • ninja of stealth October 15, 2013, 12:23 PM

brick bucket! I like it! 😀

  • Meneldur son of Garamar October 14, 2013, 1:47 PM

I am not happy that LEGO released The Simpson’s sets, but there’s so many other themes to choose from it’s no real loss for me. Although, personally, I wish LEGO never released The Simpson’s. Admin, are you excited about these new sets?

    • admin October 14, 2013, 2:25 PM

Meneldur, personally I have absolutely no interest in The Simpsons. I don’t like the show, and don’t care for LEGO Simpsons sets/minifigs. However I always look out for new, interesting parts.

As far as LEGO getting into Simpsons at all, I don’t know what to think at this point. I’m kind of baffled and wondering who is their target audience with these? I want to see the actual packaging for the minifigs/sets and the marketing materials to form an opinion.

I don’t think it’s inherently wrong fo LEGO to branch out to some niche markets. They are already doing it with the LEGO CUUSOO sets that are obviously targeting adults, and maybe older kids. However I hope that LEGO will take its child-friendly and wholesome image seriously and they don’t cross that line. The Simpsons is an adult show, although it is innocent compared to other ones, it definitely contains adult humor. I don’t know… again, I have to see what LEGO is planning to do with this…

      • Meneldur son of Garamar October 14, 2013, 2:44 PM

        Yay!

  • Glenn Copeland October 14, 2013, 2:38 PM

I reject these as official LEGO minifigs. The bodies are all wrong, and why would anyone put the heads on a different body?

    • ~Brick October 14, 2013, 4:07 PM

I agree! Does nobody else notice these like some head from a Buger king toy! This guy could just be a lier trying to make a buck!

      • Meneldur October 14, 2013, 4:22 PM

“The torsos and legs used on the pictures here are from other already released minifigs from other lines. They are likely used by the seller just to make the characters more sellable.” Hmm….

      • admin October 14, 2013, 5:40 PM

Perhaps. Althought unlikely. This seller has been selling leaked minifigs for some time now. He also have Flash listed. 😉

        • K October 15, 2013, 12:23 PM

I know the seller. He did do that. He jsut got a bunch of heads. No one else has them so far. XP

          • admin October 15, 2013, 1:30 PM

            Yeah, that’s what I was suspecting. 😎

  • Carbo October 14, 2013, 2:53 PM

I have mixed feelings about these. They could have good parts, but I don’t want to support The Simpsons. As for the Collectable Minifigures I think it is a horrible idea. I like LEGO’s own ideas much more.

    • ninja of stealth October 15, 2013, 12:26 PM

I agree Carbo. LEGO needs to use its imagination like we do! 🙄 but is true…

  • Luigifan100 October 14, 2013, 6:19 PM

Hello everyone, I am not too happy about the LEGO company releasing the Simpsons in LEGO form. I do think that Chief Wiggum’s uniform might be cool looking, but that is just me.
Also off topic and dumb question, but is the admin a real person?

    • admin October 14, 2013, 7:03 PM

Wait… are you implying that minifigs are not real persons? I think you just offended a whole bunch of little plastic people. You better watch out as they may throw a bunch of LEGO bricks for you to step on while you are barefooted. 😉

But seriously, yeah, I’m a person. At least I think I am… I have a yellow head, and… just kidding. Anyway, you can read about me under the contributor’s tab on top of the page. 🙄

      • ninja of stealth October 15, 2013, 12:27 PM

no admin, I think that luigifan was taking about you not being real…

          Let me see… I feel like a person. I don’t think I’m a bot. 🙄

  • DX ZX KENDO NRG PWR JAY-MOUTH OF LIGHTNING October 14, 2013, 10:19 PM

I love that show….and yes I know it’s inappropriate…but it’s so funny! I actually think I might buy the Simpsons house when it comes out…

  • benny October 15, 2013, 2:06 AM

this is perfect for me. the older side of me watch this and loves it. I have been watching the simpsons for years but only last year I started laughing. then the younger side of me is my spot for lego and other stuff similar people grow out of. 😛

  • Chi-bacca October 15, 2013, 2:33 AM

Is it bad that I’ve been watching the Simpsons for a few years……… 😀
But I have come across a coincidence, Simpsons are more popular over here in the UK than the US. Dunno why.

  • Håkan October 15, 2013, 7:34 AM

Completely new heads, I thought that they would have chosen to Lego-ify the characters with the classic head shape. I wonder if there’ll be new body molds as well. As it is now, it’s kinda clashing.

    • admin October 15, 2013, 9:00 AM

Hakan, this is not the first time LEGO has done this with a licensed theme. Just look at the Toy Story character heads! 😉

      • Håkan October 15, 2013, 9:01 PM

True. But if there’ll only be a minifig line, it seems a bit of a ripoff without any sets to go with it. At leat the Toy Story sets look cool (although some reviewers complain that the constructions are flimsy and break easily).

        • admin October 16, 2013, 1:23 PM

Hakan, as far as I know some sets are coming too. 😉

  • RodimusBen October 16, 2013, 3:29 AM

I’m baffled at the response to Simpsons Lego sets by those who are saying that it’s “inappropriate” because The Simpsons is an adult show. Does that mean that Pirates of the Caribbean and The Dark Knight Rises are not adult products? Both films have graphic violence. The TDKR set contains a minifigure of Bane, a character who brutally snaps a man’s neck with his bare hands in the film, breaks Batman’s back, and hangs three government agents from a bridge, among other horrifically violent acts. Those movies, not to mention Man of Steel, The Lone Ranger, the Spider-Man films and half of the Harry Potter films are rated PG-13. But because The Simpsons contains an few bawdy jokes, it’s inappropriate for Lego?

    Seriously?

Folks, we crossed this line a long time ago.

    • ~Brick October 16, 2013, 8:23 AM

LEGO never really said that the batman set was base of TDK….and Spider-Man right now it’s based off a kids show! Besides, the simpsons has problems because it has stuff that really exists!
I mean when’s the last time you saw Batman, or Bane throwing someone 25 feet? However, in the real world we see things like drinking, Dr*gs, and other age inappropriate things.(Simpsons)
So i’d say there’s a big difference between Fantasy violence, and real bad influence.
      ~Brick

      • Håkan October 16, 2013, 3:33 PM

Can’t rally agree with your arguments here. Although I agree with the statements that there isn’t a direct link between the media and improper behavior, the Batman movies are a lot grittier and creepier than the general stupidity of an average Simpsons episode.

        • Håkan October 16, 2013, 3:54 PM

That argument about realism stuns me.

And also the argument that Simpsons would have a bad influence on the viewer – at least in the sense of viewrs imitating the characters on the series. The show doesn’t promote or glamorize this behavior, mostly it mocks it.

And that statement of it being an adult series seems flawed. The episodes in themselves never seem to have received a higher rating than TV-14, which I guess should be fairly equal to PG-13.

That the sets are largely aimed at adult collectors might be true, but that holds true for several other licensed sets as well, such as the bigger LOTR and Star Wars sets.

      • RodimusBen October 16, 2013, 4:47 PM

The Tumbler set has “The Dark Knight Rises” stamped right on it. For reference:

        http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-0PdOHgnEScg/UHyr1KS35nI/AAAAAAAAHak/OpRIVhQQQUM/s1600/Lego+Dark+Knight+Rises+1.png

As for Spider-Man being based off a kids’ show “right now,” that misses my point, which is that, as the old sets were based off the Sam Raimi movies, Lego has been making sets based off of properties of questionable appropriateness for children for over a decade now.

As for whether “fantasy violence” is more or less harmful than the occasional real world subject matter of the Simpsons, it’s up to every parent to decide what’s appropriate and what isn’t for their kids. Again, my point is that this is not new territory for Lego, so the general reaction I’m seeing is unfounded.

    • admin October 16, 2013, 1:43 PM

Good points as far as how movies and media in general are getting more and more violent, and that’s not something LEGO can do anything about. However Spider-Man, Batman, Ironman, etc. have been favorite super heroes for generations. Kids don’t have to see the latest movies to understand who they are. Even if they just read a few comics, or just heard about them, they know these characters are the archetype of what a super hero is all about. In fact, since kids naturally see things in black and white, it is easy for them to make up super hero stories, even if they have never read or seen the details. (Which is probably better anyway – boosting their imagination.)

Harry Potter is a story that grows with you from childhood to youth to adulthood. And again, you don’t have to see the movies. I know several kids who devoured the books, but never saw the movies. And they use the LEGO sets to bring the characters alive. I guess the point is that with such classis stories and characters, seeing the movies is really optional. The stories themselves contain the elements that are timeless in nature and we are naturally attracted to and understand; the stuggle between good and evil, temptation, coming of age, etc.

The Simpsons, on the other hand, is an adult cartoon. I don’t see anything classic, dramatic or heroic about it that can take a child’s imagination soaring. Unless kids watch the show (which they likely don’t, or if they do they won’t really understand it), I can’t see them being able to relate to the characters or what to do with them. The whole LEGO Simpsons line seems to be a novelty item for adults. At least that’s what I see. 😉

      • RodimusBen October 16, 2013, 4:48 PM

I agree that this seems like a line aimed primarily at adults. I just don’t understand the negative reaction it’s getting, like Lego has somehow lowered its standards or is abandoning “gud ol’ famlee valyoos” or something.

        • admin October 16, 2013, 4:58 PM

It may be because it is different. Remember when Friends came out? 😈

Personally The Simpsons doesn’t appeal to me, but I also didn’t like Toy Story, or Cars, or SpongeBob. But there are people who love them. One thing I do like about these licenses though is interesting elements and colors we may never see otherwise. And I’m still curious of how LEGO is going to market The Simpsons. 🙂

          • Håkan October 17, 2013, 9:09 AM

As an old fan of the series (although I could understand the criticism that it has dragged on for too long and doesn’t try as hard anymore) I basically agree with RodimusBen here.

Most of the adult aspects of the series would be satire, in my experience. And, although kids might be baffled by it, it shouldn’t provide something particularly harmful.

  • Ray Kremer October 16, 2013, 9:39 AM

Lego sold out a long time ago. Even putting Star Wars aside, licensed characters have been about half the sets in the past few years, though Marvel/DC are about the only other ones that haven’t been a flash in the pan.

There is one interesting way that Simpsons and Lego goes together, they’ve both got the yellow skin thing going on.

    • ~Brick October 16, 2013, 2:06 PM

      😀
