Christmas LEGO Advent Calendars for 2013

It has become a tradition that LEGO releases advent calendars before Christmas. The first LEGO Advent Calendar was released back in the late 1990s, with fun little creations for each day leading up to Christmas. Since then LEGO Christmas Calendars evolved into highly collectible sets with special minifigures and accessories that LEGO fans look forward to every year.

LEGO Advent Calendars

In the past we used to get one or two LEGO Advent Calendars per year based on different themes (like one based on LEGO City, and the other on LEGO Castle), but I guess due to the popularity of the sets, in the last couple of years LEGO has been releasing three Advent Calendars for the holiday season; one based on LEGO City, one on LEGO Star Wars, and one on LEGO Friends. So let’s check out what we are getting this year! 🙂

It seems that the Friends set has really taken a beating here. Only two friends Figs shall we say ? I mean the city set has 8 plus the dog so I hope Lego realizes tis error and corrects this for next season. Certainly not a good value for the consumer market when their Friends line is so strong. Happy Holidays everyone.

Steven, I havne’t thought of that, but that’s a good point. I think previous LEGO Friends Calendars also had only two minifigs. Not sure why. 😕

To expensive to be feasibly included in numerous amounts, perhaps? Or because LEGO made the assumption girls want more role-playing props, not characters?

I thought it might have to do with the fact that there are so many small LEGO Friends sets and polybags (more than in any other theme), that if someone wanted more figs they could just add some of those. But again, that’s just my specilation. 😉

yeah, same with star wars, you get awesome minifigs but the other things just aren’t that awesome! 🙁 but the LEGO city ones are so cool!

I’ll get the Star Wars one. If I can find the City one on sale I’ll get it.

I was wondering about the Friends set to.
    Low value in figs:(
Why not add a few more animals or a boy fig.
LEGO should really rethink this or sell at a lower price.

The last few years my girls have had advents, not sure they will get the Friends one this year, it’s not up there compared to the city one…

Good point about adding animals or boy figs! I would love to see that! 😀
