LEGO Minecraft alternate models

I have been experimenting with my LEGO Minecraft sets quite a bit lately; building alternate models and configurations (I have all three of the LEGO Minecraft sets and it is really fun to combine them! You can find them at the Online LEGO Shop.) Today I would like to share with you some alternate models that I found at the LEGO Minecraft Facebook Page. 🙂

LEGO Minecraft Alternate Models

The four LEGO fans who helped create the first LEGO Minecraft Micro World set (#21102) got together and created a series of alternate models using parts from the set. (Please note that since the second and third LEGO Minecraft Micro World sets got released, the first set has been renamed to LEGO Minecraft Micro World: The First Night. Also, LEGO is currently working on developing minifigure-size Minecraft sets for future release. See link at the end of this post for more details.)

LEGO Minecraft Alternate Model

Some of these concepts of the alternate models fit with the Minecraft theme, and others explore what else is possible with the LEGO elements included in the first LEGO Minecraft set. Check them out and be inspired by the possibilities! (You can see larger pictures here.)

LEGO Minecraft Alternates

Bjarne created a Minecraft-themed phone alarm-clock holder that is quite functional. Chris built an alternate Minecraft scene with a small fort, another one with a rocket launch-pad, and a third one with a space-station. Kyle designed a Creeper cactus, a Creeper T-shirt, and an alternate Minecraft scene with more spacious caves. And Michael came up with a Minecraft castle, a micro city with high-rise buildings and elevated train, a large light-house, and also a nice little well.

LEGO Minecraft Castle

If you have the #21102 LEGO Minecraft set I recommend you try to these! And of course you can also build your own alternate models. The LEGO Minecraft sets are a perfect introduction to micro-building as in each of the sets you get lots and lots of small elements in really nice colors. And of course if you are a Minecraft fan you can keep building and re-building your LEGO Minecraft world in any way you want! Below are the currently available LEGO Minecraft sets at the Online LEGO Shop.

Those are really cool. I don’t have any of the LEGO Minecraft sets, as I like minifigure-scale sets more. I still micro-build sometimes, but I am waiting on the minifig-scale sets.

Carbo, the minifig-scale Minecraft sets should be out probably next year. So far the development looks interesting. But the micro sets are fun too! 🙂

  • ninja of stealth December 13, 2013, 12:18 PM

I’ve never built in micro-scale before, is it harder, or easier or does it just deepened on who you are? 😕

    • Chi-bacca December 13, 2013, 12:40 PM

I think it’s easier as it uses less parts but then again you can’t put all the intricute detail into a small model that you would otherwise a larger one.
To put it simpler, yeah it does depend who you are 😀

      • ninja of stealth December 14, 2013, 12:24 PM

yeah, I guess it just depends… *sigh*

to build, or not to build (in micro scale) that is the question…

Yeah, I like that one too! 😀

I agree. It was a creative idea!

I’m not really a fan of Minecraft, though I think this is cool. I can’t wait for the minifig scale sets! 😛

    • ninja of stealth December 14, 2013, 12:26 PM

yeah, what’s with people and minecraft? then again some people might say “what’s with people and LEGO?” which I would say to them “wha?!” 😯

  • lego ff December 14, 2013, 6:53 AM

Admin, do you need to subscribe to the comments?

    • admin December 14, 2013, 9:38 AM

You don’t need to, but you can. I think subscribing to comments only makes sense if you are the author of the post, or if you want to take part in the discussion. Basically when you subscribe you will receive an email notification with everyone else’s comments on that post.

I think it is best to just subscribe to the main mailing-list (on top of the left-hand side-bar) which only sends you email every day when a new post is published – this way you know what’s going on and yo udon’t get flooded with a bunch of emails. And only subscribe to comments on a post where you are really interested to follow the conversation.

Also, you can unsubscribe any time from both comments or the main mailing list. So if you no longer want to follow a conversation just hit the unsubscribe link. 😉

Make the micro-world phone holder into a Lego Cuusoo project. I would be willing to by that for €35. Please try making a project on it?

    • admin January 31, 2014, 11:02 AM

John, yeah, it is a nice project! Please note that it wouldn’t work for CUUSOO as LEGO is already holding the license for Minecraft, and they are continuing to develop the theme. However the phone-holder is very easy to make. All you need is the first Minecraft set, and you should be able to put it together from the above picture as an alternate model for that set. 😉

      • John February 21, 2014, 12:29 PM

People still make projects about Minecraft on CUUSOO. It’s worth a try making a project on CUUSOO.

        • admin February 21, 2014, 1:13 PM

John, yeah, but they will never be approved. So it is worth trying something else. 😉
