2014 LEGO Star Wars sets available now!

We haven’t really talked about the newly released 2014 LEGO Star Wars sets, so I thought it was time to take a look. We did discuss the LEGO Star Wars MicroFigthers (see: 2014 LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters), but not the larger sets, so let’s see what we got, then you can tell me what you think about the new LEGO Star Wars sets. 🙂

2014 LEGO Star Wars Sets

Nine new sets were released in the first wave of the 2014 LEGO Star Wars line, plus four LEGO Star Wars battle-packs and the six LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters sets. None of the sets are big or expensive, so if you are into collecting LEGO Star Wars and like any of the new sets, you are in luck.

Most of the regular 2014 LEGO Star Wars sets are from Episode III of the movies; the #75038 LEGO Star Wars Jedi Interceptor, the #75039 LEGO Star Wars V-Wing Starfighter, the #75040 LEGO Star Wars General Grievous’ Wheel Bike, the #75041 LEGO Star Wars Vulture Droid, the #75042 LEGO Star Wars Droid Drop Gunship, the #75043 LEGO Star Wars AT-AP, and the #75044 LEGO Star Wars Droid Tri-Fighter. Also there are a couple of sets from The Clone Wars; the #75045 LEGO Star Wars Republic AV-7 Anti-Vehicle Cannon and the #75046 LEGO Star Wars Coruscant Police Gunship. If you like to collect minifigures or build up large armies, the LEGO Star Wars battle-packs are for you. There are four battle-packs released so far this year; the #75034 LEGO Star Wars Death Star Troopers, the #75035 LEGO Star Wars Kashyyyk Troopers, the #75036 LEGO Star Wars Utapau Troopers, and the #75037 LEGO Star Wars Battle of Saleucami.

And if you are into small pocket sets, you might want to check out the LEGO Star Wars MicroFighters. Each of them are just about $10, so they won’t break the bank. There are six sets to choose from or collect; the #75028 LEGO Star Wars Clone Turbo Tank, the #75029 LEGO Star Wars AAT, the #75030 LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon, the #75031 LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor, the #75032 LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Fighter, and the #75033 LEGO Star Wars Star Destroyer.

2014 LEGO Star Wars Micro Fighters

I’m not a huge fan of the regular LEGO Star Wars sets in this wave, but I do like the battle-packs. The Kashyyyk Troopers, Death Star Troopers and Utapau Troopers are particularly nice. I know that the lone Kashyyyk Trooper that was released back in 2005 is a highly prized and sought-after minifigure. It is also interesting to note that LEGO switched over to the new olive-green color for their uniform from the previously used sand-green. I like the sand-green trooper, but I think the olive-green is more movie-accurate. And those little MicroFigthers are kind of cute and I will likely pick up a couple of them. What about you? 😀

I’ve never watched episode the prequel movies, so this wave is not really for me…..
Though I do like the death star troopers and the microfighters. I think I’ll be getting more Summer sets than winter ones! 🙂

yeah, my wallet will be drained by the time summer is over. I’ll be getting the death star troopers, someday. that’s about it for the winter ones that I can think of. oh and yesterday I went to target and bought the lion legend beast from Chima. definitely worth it. the eyes where printed on so I was very excited about that.

i wish the wheel bike came with a boga (i have the old one) but i really like the new grievous so i may still buy it

  • EliteBrick February 23, 2014, 10:32 AM

Everything is Awesome!!! Guess what! My Brother and I went to Toys “R” Us Monday during the buy one get one 50% off sale, and we got A Lot of the new Battle Packs.

    • YTjedi February 23, 2014, 11:37 AM

I also took advantage of the BOGO sale at TRU this past week and got all the microfighters, battle packs, and the 4 $25 SW sets. Also picked up the new Batman/Penguin set, SM/Electro set, Captain America/Red Skull set, and SM/Doc Ock. It’s probably the most business TRU has gotten from me in years, but it’s hard to beat brand new sets at 25% off MSRP.

      • admin February 23, 2014, 12:10 PM

Yeah, TRU’s sale was decent this time. BTW, did you notice that the graphics on the MicroFighters match up? Put the boxes next to eacy other and you will see what I mean! Put the Clone Turbo Tanks on the left and the AAT next to it on the right, and you will see how the graphics continue. You can do the same with the Falcon and the TIE Interceptor, and the X-wing and the Star Destroyer. It is really neat. I just noticed it recently. 😀

Nice! The Battle Packs are really sweet this time around! 😛

  • BLProductions February 23, 2014, 1:27 PM

I must say, when I first saw these sets back in November 2013, I thought that LEGO Star Wars was over. The sets just looked like they came from 2007 or something. It was mostly the Vader symbol at the top, though.
Still, these sets aren’t that interesting. But I’m gonna try to get the V-wing and the Jedi Interceptor. And some of the microfighters, they look like the Mixels: cute. My brother got Shuff yesterday, and it just looks…weird.

I actually really liked this wave, and feel like it was better than the last… but probably because I missed out on a lot of the 2006/2007 sets

And I can’t wait to use those new red windshields in the gunship for a Space Police 1 MOC!!!

    • Håkan February 23, 2014, 4:40 PM

SP1 MOC. I approve! Maybe also a Blacktron 1 MOC for balance?

  • ninja of stealth February 24, 2014, 12:31 PM

I really want one of those awesome blasters!

    • admin February 24, 2014, 12:42 PM

Yeah, they are quite fun and can shoot pretty far! 😈

      • ninja of stealth February 25, 2014, 12:21 PM

mu ha, ha, ha! then, (okay this is kind of mean but they don’t hurt right?) since I share my room with my sister I can practice shooting them! (okay, that’s really mean. I won’t do it.)

        • admin February 25, 2014, 4:05 PM

If she is your younger sister then it could be justified. If she is your older sister, I wouldn’t do it… 😈

    • BLProductions February 24, 2014, 2:22 PM

They are really cool! But what d’you think about those spring-loaded shooters? I think they’re nice, but it looks like they have replaced flick missiles for the Star Wars sets.

      • admin February 24, 2014, 3:08 PM

I think they are planning to continue using all of them. For example Benny’s Spaceship has both flick-fire and the new spring-loaded shooters, plus two big cannons!

        • BLProductions February 24, 2014, 4:16 PM

Yeah, I saw that! That spaceship is so awesome!!

  • Dan Pawlak February 24, 2014, 12:40 PM

Bit hard to say that the set doesn’t come with a lightsaber for Obi-Wan when it comes with 4 lightsabers. Granted they’re “for” Grievous, but c’mon, it still comes with 4.
