2015 LEGO Elves – pictures & details!

One of the most interesting new LEGO themes that is coming in 2015 is called LEGO Elves. There has been rumors circulating about them, however most people assumed it was a regular LEGO minifigure line with castle/fantasy type elves that we have seen before in the LEGO Collectible Minifigure series as well as in LEGO Lord of the Rings. However LEGO had something else in mind. ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO Elves

The new elves theme is in fact a girls-oriented theme with the same type of minifigures as in the LEGO Friends line. However I have already heard from many adult LEGO fans (both guys and gals) that they are definitely planning to pick up this series, no matter who is the intended target-audience. Just like LEGO Friends could be considered a sister-theme to LEGO City, LEGO Elves could fit well with LEGO Castle. The characters in the sets more look like pixies or fairies than elves, but I’m not going to argue about such minor technicalities. Also, even if you prefer traditional minifigures, keep in mind that the hairpieces of the mini-dolls fit perfectly on regular LEGO minifigs. And of course all the interesting accessories and sweet colors that we have learned to expect from LEGO Friends are continuing here as well. So let’s take a look at what’s coming…

โžก #41071 LEGO Elves Aira’s Creative Workshop: This is the smallest of the new LEGO Elves sets with 70 pieces, and a very cute mini-doll with light-purple hair and pointy elf ears. And look at all those unique accessories: scissors, carrot tops in brown (which previously only appeared in one set in this color), a cute bird in a new color, gold wings (this is a new color), and several printed pieces (ruler, map, and maybe even the other ones). Also, if you take a closer look, it appears that those drawers actually open. My guess is that this set will be $10 or less.

#41071 LEGO Elves

โžก #41072 LEGO Elves Naida’s Spa Secret: This is a larger set with another cute mini-doll with a different elvish hair-piece, and a purple dolphin! And look at those lavender and purple leaves! I know customizers are going to gobble those up for creating enchanted forests! I would like to add that as far as the story, it is not yet known who these elves are and what they are up to, but it is curious to see a spa in the forest with hot and cold faucet-controls… and a dolphin. No piece-count or price is available for this set at this point.

#41072 LEGO Elves

โžก #41073 LEGO Elves Naida’s Epic Adventure Ship: Here we see the previous two elves with a lovely small ship. Note the new, larger shell pieces in both gold and white. This set is 220 pieces, so I assume the price is going to be in the $20-$25 range.

#41073 LEGO Elves

โžก #41074 LEGO Elves Azari and the Magical Bakery: I do have a picture of this set, but unfortunately I can’t share it as it has the confidentiality stamp. But I will describe it for you. It also has 220 pieces, like the previous set, so it is about the same size and should be the same price-range as well. It includes two mini-dolls (a boy elf and a girl elf). There is also a small animal that looks like a fox. The bakery includes an oven and the main building has several of those new pointy arches and a really nice new filigree 2×4 fence piece in gold. And of course there are tons of interesting accessories.

โžก #41075 LEGO Elves The Elves’ Treetop Hideaway: There is also no image of this set that I can share with you, but I can tell you it looks super sweet! It includes three mini-dolls (Farran, who is a boy elf, and two girls; Emily and Azari). The set includes two trees interconnected with a bridge, a lot more lavender and purple leaves, more of the new filigree pieces, but this time in sand-green (I can count at least three – castle/fantasy builders will love these!), and lots of unique accessories. There is also some kind of a magic-portal looking thingy, but it is hard to make it out.

โžก #41076 LEGO Elves Fairan and the Crystal Hollow: This is the last of the Elves sets, and includes Fairan, a squirrel, and a tree with some crystals at the base. The whole thing almost looks like a kaleidoscope. And the squirrel seems to be operating a small catapult. How sweet… I always knew never to trust those little devils. No piece-count or price is available yet.

#41076 LEGO Elves

And that wraps up the new LEGO Elves sets scheduled for release in January 2015. There are now three products lines for girls: LEGO Friends, LEGO Disney Princess, and LEGO Elves. Between these three, girls can play out pretty much any scenario they want to, while adults look on with envy and wish they could be kids today. Of course we can still buy the sets, but still, it must be magical to get introduced to LEGO through these sets as a child! They are just wonderful and capture many of the things I would have wanted to play with as a young LEGO fan. I’m pretty sure LEGO Elves is going to be successful with girls who prefer fantasy stories instead of the more modern setting of LEGO Friends. They are also excellent sets for parts and accessories for older LEGO fans. Visit the Online LEGO Shop for current selection.

So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO Elves theme? Are you planning to get any of the sets when they get released? Which one is your favorite? Or perhaps you are just planning to get them for the unique colors and accessories? Or pass on completely? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Some of these look like v. Interesting parts packs ๐Ÿ™‚

  • LK901 October 17, 2014, 10:31 AM

I’m not a fan of mini-dolls and would have preferred a Castle type theme, but the ship looks neat.

Admin, I’m looking for ways to advertise my website, and would love if you could share some tips?

    • admin October 17, 2014, 10:38 AM

As far as advertising your website, it is not as easy as it used to be. But I would say that the bottom line is the same; provide great value to visitors and they will stick around. Also, social media is more improtant than ever. Be active on Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest… those type of sites. It actually doesn’t take that long. I spend about 5 minutes every two days to update TBB’s social pages. Wishing you the best with your website! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • LK901 October 17, 2014, 12:07 PM

        Thanks for the tips ๐Ÿ™‚
I don’t have any Social media pages yet, so I should look into that. Thanks again ๐Ÿ™‚

        • admin October 17, 2014, 12:13 PM

Social media is a great way to drive traffic to your site, and people will also share the information with each other. Keep in mind that there will be people who will stick with following you on social media and never visit your main site. That’s all-right too. You will basically have a different set of followers on each platform, and some of it will overlap. The good thing about social media that it takes very little time to maintain it as you don’t have to run the websites yourself, but there is a lot of people you can reach. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hey Admin, looks like there is a new flower piece that has five stems in Crystal Hollow. I could be wrong(most likely I am) but I’d thought I would point it out.

    • admin October 17, 2014, 11:08 AM

Oh, my! You got good eyes! Yes, that does look like a new piece! ๐Ÿ˜›

      • legogeek October 17, 2014, 1:27 PM

Yay, I have good eyes! I should I’m only a TFOL.

        • BLProductions October 17, 2014, 6:24 PM

Yes, those do seem like new pieces. Nice find! ๐Ÿ™‚ I will add that there are 6 stems on it, not 5. The last is barely visible, it’s facing away. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • LegoUniverse Bob October 17, 2014, 11:36 AM

      It looks so cool! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • LegoUniverse Bob October 17, 2014, 11:39 AM

I love all of these, they include such interesting pieces! But at the start, I think you messed up a little. I think the ‘elves’ should look like elves, not people. How can it be if the line is called ‘LEGO Elves’ and it includes figs that don’t look like elves!? :S ๐Ÿ˜›

    • admin October 17, 2014, 12:09 PM

There are so many different types of elves, I’m sure these guys will fit in somewhere. When I was little I thought all elves were small and mischievous, like Santa’s helpers. Then as a teen I was introduced to the beautiful and wise elves of the Lord of the Rings saga. Also, it is interesting to note that almost every culture has folklore of elf-type beings. They may be somewhat different, but they are there. ๐Ÿ™„

      • Ray October 17, 2014, 12:27 PM

In mythology, “elf” is a catch-all term for supernatural woodland beings, sometimes helpful, sometimes mischievous, and there’s several dozen other names they go by across Europe (e.g. dwarf, brownie, pixie, fairy, goblin). Later storytelling (especially Tolkien) has done a lot to solidify these various names as distinct races with specific traits in our modern minds, but some obvious differences remain. Santa’s elves vs. Tolkien’s as you said, also Shakespeare’s fairies vs. Peter Pan’s.

I like the look of the Fairy line. It’s nice to see Lego’s girl-targeted efforts expand beyond the high school/town setting and licensed properties. I probably won’t buy any just for the sake of my wallet and storage space, but I like the look of them.

        • admin October 17, 2014, 12:46 PM

And don’t forget about the Tooth Fairy… but seriously, I was just reading Wikipedia’s page about fairies and elves and they (the fairies and elves I mean) definitely have a fascinating variety. Also, they are not just in Europe. Hindu and Buddhist cultures also have a rich fairy tradition with all types and classes of fairy-like creatures. Many with the same type of characteristics as in Europe; pointy ears, wings, mischief, shapeshifting abilities, the love of music and dance, magical powers, etc.

          • LegoUniverse Bob October 18, 2014, 9:13 AM

The only elf/fairy-type beings that can shapeshift (that I know of) are Spriggans and Boggarts (yes, they’re not only in Harry Potter). This conversation is starting to get interesting.

            • admin October 18, 2014, 10:31 AM

In Hindu/Buddhist mythology/folklore a lot of creatures can shapeshift. It is practically everybody, except for humans. Evil demons (rakshasas) can take up human form to lure you in their company. Gandharvas (who are angelic beings) can also blend in with humans. And practically all humanoid higher and lower beings can also take animal forms. If I remember correctly the only shapeshifting abilities humans can aquire is shrinking or growing in size. But even that is only after much austerities and yogic practices. Unless of course the shapesifting is involuntary and the result of a curse…

  • Micho October 17, 2014, 11:52 AM

Nice colors, nic parts, but I doubt I will pick up any of these. Now Disney Princesses is a totally different story ๐Ÿ˜€

    • admin October 17, 2014, 12:10 PM

Elves vs. Princesses… I would so love to be a little girl today and play that out! ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

  • Colin23 October 17, 2014, 12:35 PM

I am really excited for 41074! The fox will go great with my LEGO Ideas “The Little Prince” project! This is what I have been waiting for.

    • admin October 17, 2014, 12:37 PM

      Oh, nice idea! ๐Ÿ˜›

      • Colin23 October 17, 2014, 12:41 PM

I’ve been hoping for a while now that they’d come out with a fox in the Friends animal series, so this is an unexpected reply. Plus all these sets have great parts and a nifty concept.

        • Hรฅkan October 18, 2014, 8:12 AM

Yeah, I noticed that project of yours while lurking on Brickset.

You must need reddish orange, too.

  • ninja of stealth October 17, 2014, 1:12 PM

Finally I can get cool stuff/accessories without the embarrassment of getting a LEGO friend set. (no offense, but at my age, it would be a little embarrassing) I haven’t got any friend sets yet, and not planning on it! I don’t really plan on getting these either but if for some REALLY strange reason I got this for my birthday or Christmas, I would keep it. Just for the cool stuff and animals though!

    • admin October 17, 2014, 1:29 PM

I was feeling like you too when I was a teen. I wouldn’t want be caught with LEGO dead or alive. But it will get better. As an adult I don’t care what people of my hobbies and interests. And the fact is there are many people who share the same, so you are never alone in whatever you are into. Especially as a LEGO fan. Our house is always full with kids and adults who love to play and help me build stuff. Live is too short to try to please everybody. Play well ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Kim October 17, 2014, 1:44 PM

I was at Walmart earlier this year and met some people in the Lego aisle and I asked them if they’d been to the Lego store and they said yes and I said that I had gone there for my birthday. I got some strange looks. I’m pretty sure they thought I was mentally challenged. LOL

        • admin October 17, 2014, 1:52 PM

LOL! If someone would tell me they are heading for the LEGO store for their BD, I would ask them if I could accompany them! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • ninja of stealth October 17, 2014, 1:15 PM

you know what, never mind, elves and mini dolls, are too strange for me, and sad to say, they freak me out. ๐Ÿ™ (especially if elves and Mini dolls are mixed together!) but I have a good feeling these will go very far. hopefully farther than friends. ๐Ÿ˜€ (no offence to all the LEGO friend fans)

    • admin October 17, 2014, 1:27 PM

LEGO Friends is actually huge! It doesn’t need any encouragement from us to go far. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • legogeek October 17, 2014, 2:24 PM

Hey Admin, looks like there is a pearl gold book in Naidaโ€™s Spa Secret underneath the table/vanity thing.
P.s. a ONLY build MOCs so I look for new parts in sets not “play value”. lol

    • legogeek October 17, 2014, 2:33 PM

Also in Airaโ€™s Creative Workshop there are trans. purple 1×2 bricks! Right now is only in two sets!

    • admin October 17, 2014, 6:50 PM

That’s pretty much how I look at sets too as I build MOCs as well. Nice find! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • *MAJORFACEPALM*

LEGO, you had your chance to make an awesome Elves theme and you just make a new friends theme.

    ELVES DONT HAVE A SPA.

  • Kim October 17, 2014, 3:15 PM

I think I’d like to get these, except I would re-fashion them to minifigures, get flesh colored faces and use the hair pieces and bricks and stuff. From what you can tell, it is the same skin tone right? Or is it lighter than the flesh tone?

    • admin October 17, 2014, 6:54 PM

LEGO Friends figures are regular light-flesh tone, except for a few that has a dark-flesh color. The bottom line is that the colors are same as in regular LEGO sets. BTW, if you want to change the color of the pointy ears to yellow, it is quite easy with a little bit of paint. But in general I keep all my elves light-flesh toned, even when mixing them with regular yellow minifigs. Just to show that they are different species. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Polychrome October 17, 2014, 5:04 PM

I have to say, I have mixed feelings about these sets. One one hand, I really like how Lego’s making a fantasy theme for girls. I love the colors and the character designs. But, I just can’t get past the fact that Lego is making a barrier between girls and boys sets. Friends, Disney Princess, and Elves all have simpler sets than, say, City and Castle. When I showed these pictures to my younger sister, the first thing she said was “Those look really easy.” Like I said, I like how they look. I just would like them to be a little…more. And I am still not a fan of the mini-dolls.

    • Polychrome October 17, 2014, 5:06 PM

And a spa? AN ELF SPA? REALLY? At least call it Enchanted Pool or something…

    • admin October 17, 2014, 7:01 PM

Good points. LEGO’s extensive research showed that girls mostly like to arrange, decorate, and play out stories. Of course not all girls are going to be like that, but in general those are dominant traits. LEGO Friends sets may not be technically difficult to build, but they are geared towards little girls. And they do include a lot of small details and accessories that are actually quite complex. Plus, LEGO does need to stay under budget. I’m sure if and when they see that there is demand for larger, more complex sets, they will release them. Friends and related lines are still very new. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • BLProductions October 17, 2014, 6:22 PM

I would have liked normal minifigures for these sets, but I suppose mini-dolls are okay. ๐Ÿ˜• I like the look of them, lots of rare-looking parts, some in new colors. I note the shovel-handle pieces and brown carrot-stems, which are new. ๐Ÿ™‚ I might look into getting the Crystal Hollow, lots of transparent parts, which is nice.
Also, I managed to get to the toy store down my street today, and got the Battle Goddess and Lunk (I only got Lunk b/c he was the last Frosticon, and they’re all sold out on Lego Shop). I felt out pretty much every minifig there looking for a Pizza Guy, but to no avail. ๐Ÿ™ One of my brothers got the Jester, despite my advice against it. I plan to build Lunk in-the-bag, it doesn’t seem to hard. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • BLProductions October 17, 2014, 9:31 PM

Oh, by the way, LDD got an update today. Most of the new pieces from this summer were added. No Groot or Polar Bear, though. And you can see how big the Volvo Wheel Loader’s bucket really is. ;o ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • admin October 18, 2014, 10:21 AM

Oh, nice! I should check that out! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Hรฅkan October 18, 2014, 8:33 AM

Much complaint about Elves being mini-dolls, but with the moulds constructed, it should be easy to make a recolor with yellow ears, if there’s a demand high enough for minifigs.

It’d need a concept, though. As someone noted, just having regular knights with pointy ears might feel a bit boring. An idea would be an updated version of the Forestmen theme, with natural bases in the forest, waterfalls, rocks or brooks, with secret traps for invaders. I figured you could reconstruct the flick-missile slightly to make it into a flaming arrow/ torch.

My friend would like to see evil Dark Elves, although as for mini-figs and mini-dolls, he might not care much.

    • admin October 18, 2014, 10:25 AM

I would buy every set in that theme instantly! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • ninja5 October 18, 2014, 7:38 PM

This looks interesting… I would buy a lot of these if they came with minifigs, and there was an army faction, but alas not. I agree with Hakan’s comment above. Also, Lamanda’s bricklink store, http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=Lamanda, is closed to the public. On her photostream, she is still listing new items, though, so how would I get in to buy?

    • admin October 18, 2014, 7:43 PM

Perhaps Lamanda is just taking a break. You can ask her through flickr when she is going be opening her store again. Or if she is willing to give you the password to unlock the store. I didn’t know you were also fan of her customs! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • ninja5 October 19, 2014, 7:48 AM

        I am, but I don’t have flickr.

  • Mario Mora December 7, 2014, 11:51 AM

I recently caught wind of this and immediately, I thought of this new them being something of a Friends offshoot that mixed Pirates of Darkwater with a touch of Zelda/Windwaker. There are some definite sets in this lineup I will for sure be attempting to get. Especially the boat which was the first image I had seen of this line. Thanks for the wonderful write up on this, very nice.

I’m not even ashamed to say that as a 40 year old male “kid at heart”, I did pick up and review my first Lego Friends set just over a week ago. I was impressed with Emma’s karate set.

    • admin December 7, 2014, 7:47 PM

Mario, thanks for sharing. Yes, both the Friends and the Elves sets are real winners. I’m glad you enjoy them. There is nothing to be ashamed of; being a kid at heart is a blessing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Sarah December 8, 2014, 1:09 PM

FYI – theBrickFan.com has pictures of the secret bakery and treetop hideaway today. Hope I didn’t just rat someone out… But they’re pretty sweet.

    • admin December 8, 2014, 1:23 PM

Sarah, yes, they are very sweet sets. The images are now readily available as they will be listed at the Online LEGO Shop soon. Can’t wait! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • LegoGeek December 16, 2014, 4:17 PM

    Weird power things.
