LEGO Batman is Jelly – funny video

If you have seen The LEGO Movie, you know that one of the main character is Wyldstyle, with Batman as her boyfriend. By the end of the movie Emmet steals Wyldstyle’s heart, andย Batman takes this like a gentleman (because he is Batman and he is awesome!), but as old boyfriends sometimes do, he wanted to check on how his ex was doing with the new guy. ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO Stop-Motion Video - LEGO Batman is Jelly

And here is where the BrotherhoodWorkshop comes in. You can always count on them to twists and turn a story like this into an expertly created and funny LEGO stop-motion video. This latest film from the brothers is titled LEGO Batman is Jelly (which also refers to one of their previous videos with Batman and Superman having a conversation. You can watch it here: How The LEGO Movie Should Have Ended…). Besides the ex-boyfriend vs. new boyfriend story playing out, the video also incorporates an interesting fact that I won’t reveal because it would be a spoiler. ๐Ÿ™„

That was funny, isn’t it? So do you know what the interesting fact I referred to above is in the video? You can guess in the comment section! Also, it has been a signature feature of LEGO stop-motion films from the BrotherhoodWorkshop that they include lots of little tidbits, references to other characters, movies, story-lines, etc. Can you find some in this video? You can list those too in the comment section! And you can also check out the currently available The LEGO Movie sets at the Online LEGO Shop.

Lol I get it Star Lord/Emmet is the same actor. I remember that from watching the behind the seens from the LEGO Movie, then watching Guardians of the Galaxy.

It’s epic! ๐Ÿ™‚ . I love how it’s so long and narrow, built just for your window!

        Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

My display space as you can see is 140 studs long and 18 wide. Its also the only spot out of reach from my kids so it sets interesting boundaries around what I can do. 18 studs sounds loads but thats only just over half a modular! I can at least go up!

Wow man, that’s an awesome project! very nice Job! Virtual high five! (I wish I could build like that.) How do you do that! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Far too much time. This one took over a month of planning (I ended up doing something completely different to what I planned though). However I have found to go with what you think works. I did the trees first then thought they needed something to go on and took it from there. I re did the bridge 3 times before I was happy with it and the same for the path down the hill.

As long as its fun whatever anyone puts together is good though!

Woah, that’s awesome! It’s cool how you managed to fit it in such a narrow space. I really like the walls of the house, epic design. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜Ž
One question, though. Why are the pictures taken at different times of day? Was that on purpose or because you didn’t have time to take pics of everything? ๐Ÿ˜•

      • Tom November 11, 2014, 5:58 PM

        Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚
Most of the exterior wall design is from Derfels truly excellent guide to building a medieval village over on eurobricks. I would never have got anything as detailed without that guide!
Proportionally its a bit too narrow but as I only had 12 studs to play with (its at an angle) it had to be.

In terms of the photos the window faces east and when I tried the wide shots by day i couldn’t see any detail. At night however I was getting awful bouncing flash on the close ups.

Sadly I dont have a photo box or the skills/gear to take more consistent shots but one day I’ll hopefully have the space to set a proper photo bench for such sized builds.

Oh I see. Just checking if I didn’t know what it was. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • LegoUniverse Bob November 11, 2014, 12:06 PM

I found this hilarious. But I didn’t know that Emmet’s actor was Starlo- wait, now I just remembered that I did ๐Ÿ˜› .

  • ninja5 November 11, 2014, 12:25 PM

OH MY G-O-S-H THIS IS SO HYSTERICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, seriously. I completely forgot that Emmet is Star… Oops! Can’t spoil his secret identity!

  • Strider November 12, 2014, 11:44 AM

So funny! Did anyone else get the Parks and Recreation reference? (A show with Christ Pratt in it.) They changed Wyldstyles face, I’m assuming because they wanted to animate it, (I forget how much her expression changes,) but I think they should have kept the original.

    • admin November 12, 2014, 11:57 AM

He-he… I haven’t noticed that, but you are right! As I said; these videos are always full of easter eggs! ๐Ÿ˜›

  • sup3rcam234 November 13, 2014, 7:25 AM
