LEGO Mixels Series 4 – pictures & details!

(Written by legogeek)

In the November/December 2014 issue of the LEGO Club Magazine appeared the first picture of the Series 4 LEGO Mixels characters under the title: Mixels in SPAAAAACE!! And since then official images of each tribe also became available. So let’s take a look at each of the new tribes. 🙂

LEGO Mixels Series 4

LEGO MIXELS SERIES 4 – ORBITRONS: Looks like Mixels have gone into space in white and lime-green suits! Just like with the previous LEGO Mixels tribes, there are three members of the tribe here: #41527 LEGO Mixels Rokit, #41528 LEGO Mixels Niksput and #41529 LEGO Mixels Nurp-Naut. Notice the new printed 2×2 round tile element for Nurp-Naut’s eye, and the other very useful small parts in great colors!

LEGO MIXELS SERIES 4 – INFERNITES: We have gotten the red and fiery Infernites in LEGO Mixels Series 1 previously, and I guess they are back with more characters! We have #41530 LEGO Mixels Meltus, #41531 LEGO Mixels Flamzer, and #41532 LEGO Mixels Burnard. These wacky little guys have so much personality, it is hard to resist their monstrous cuteness!

LEGO MIXELS SERIES 4 -GLOWKIES: This is another new tribe with dark-blue and glow-in-the-dark pieces! They kind of look like bats, or other creepy creatures of the night. The three members of the tribe are: #41533 LEGO Mixels Globert, #41534 LEGO Mixels Vampos, and #41535 LEGO Mixels Boogly. These will definitely be popular for the glow-in-the-dark elements!

And that sums up all of the new LEGO Mixels tribes. LEGO Mixels have been a very popular theme both with people who like the characters for their cuteness, and also with those who are looking for rare and interesting elements. Most notably LEGO Mixels introduced a whole range of small ball-joints and printed eye pieces that were not available previously. Also, they include other rare elements like the tooth pieces, small curved slopes, and other pieces in rare colors. In addition, LEGO Mixels is a great LEGO theme to collect without breaking the bank. LEGO Mixels Series 4 should be available early next year, and in the meantime you can check out the currently available LEGO Mixels characters at the Online LEGO Shop.

Love the Orbitrons! Great colors and funny characters!

LEGO has most certainly run out of colors for these… White/Light green, Red (again), and Dark Blue/GitD. I liked the first three series better. 😐 But I do find myself liking these for the parts, and Globert because… well, he’s a bat. I also kinda like Nurp-Naut. And speaking of Nurp-Naut…
I can’t understand how LEGO can do such a poor job in replicating their own characters. In the first 3 series I found a number of possible corrections on the sets, and I now see that Nurp-Naut here has TWO eyes in cartoon-world, but has one half-closed eye on the set. I don’t get why LEGO does that. Maybe it’s just a mood he’s frequently in? 😕

I have another question. Why does the moderation filter dislike me so much? The first comment I put on every post goes under moderation. It could be because I write such long comments and it doesn’t like that…. 😕

Hm… not sure. It has its own mind sometimes. Longer comments have more of a chance of getting under moderation (obviously, since you are using more words), but it is not always the case. I think it may just have been confused by all those strange Mixels names! 🙄

I don’t watch the cartoons so I wouldn’t know, but perhaps it is part of the story? Or maybe there is no reason, and there was just a mis-communication between the animators and the set-designers. 😐

Yeah, those Mixel names sounds somewhat like obscene insult…

I wonder if Nurp-Naut could have one eye on each side of the head? His head look oddly rotable…

Speaking of colors, any notable ones lacking, so far? Pink? Friends purplish?

        • admin November 22, 2014, 5:53 PM

There are several colors they haven’t used yet, and frankly, I’m a bit disappointed that they added a second run of firery tribe members instead of a new one. I really like the characters, they are super cute, it would just have been better if they are another color. Of course the issue is that this is also a tie-in with a TV show, so designers can’t just use whatever new colors they want. I would have liked a lavender tribe and an olive-green tribe for sure, and of course pink! 🙄

            Lavender sounds swell.

And the idea about one eye on each side of the head, what speaks against is that I don’t think any mixel so far has been released with two big eye pieces. I just thought it looked a bit like it had another transparent bowl on the back.

Nurp-Naut has two faces, it was shown somewhere on Brickset.
