LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier review with a twist

We have discussed the #76042 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes SHIELD Helicarrier extensively, including full review of the set as well as review of the motorized version (see: LEGO Helicarrier Review & Power Functions). The LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier is a LEGO Ultimate Collector Series set, and the largest LEGO Marvel Super Heroes set to date, so there is a lot to examine and talk about. This is why I thought to share with you another review that talks about this set from a different angle. 🙂

#76042 LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier

The previous video-reviews I shared with you about the #76042 LEGO Marvel Super Heroes SHIELD Helicarrier were from the BrickShow. Jason and Stephen are well known for their excellent, reliable and detailed reviews of pretty much every LEGO set, and their channel is very popular with LEGO fans. At the same time it is also worth checking out new channels from LEGO fans to get a different perspective. One such new channel is from the Brothers-Brick. If you have been around LEGO for a while you have probably heard about them before. They were one of the first LEGO fan-sites (I believe they have been around for close to 10 years now), featuring some of the best LEGO creations ever made. So while they may be new to YouTube, they are not new to the LEGO-scene. So far they only have a few videos on their channel, mostly featuring Iain Heath (a.k.a. Ochre Jelly), assistant editor at the Brothers-Brick, and known for his excellent brick-built characters and funny humor.

#76042 LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier Available Now

Iain recently reviewed LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier, which I thought was really well done with excellent information and lots of funny twists. Please note that the review is in two parts, however I put them into one playlist so you can watch both of them below one after another. There is also a third video added at the end which reveals some behind-the-scenes footage about how the review was done – I’m not going to say more about this because I don’t want to spoil the fun. 🙄

Entertaining, isn’t it? While Iain did a great job showing off all the important features of the set, he was also able to add plenty of his own personality and ideas. If you like this type of review make sure you let Iain know, and keep an eye on their channel for more. And if you haven’t gotten it already, the LEGO SHIELD Helicarrier is available under the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

I’m glad they made the behind the scenes video, as that part in the review stressed me out. Otherwise, very funny and unexpected.

Yeah, my understanding is that they made that last video because people were freaking out and getting heart-attacks! 🙄

Quite an entertaining review. I just wish someone would show the mini Quinjets in detail, so I can check to see if I’ve built mine on LDD correctly. When he threw that off the roof, it actually flew a little. At least until the Helicarrier’s acceleration decreased enough that gravity changed its velocity, and the slope became negative. 😉 But he did cover most of the major points about the set, so it was a good, complete review. And I still do not want it in the slightest. 🙂
Also, new Ninjago set images: http://brickset.com/sets/order-dateadded/year-2015/theme-Ninjago?query=* I wonder if the Jay set is indeed called “Jay Walker One” like on Brickpedia. It doesn’t really fit. 😕

We will talk about the new set images tomorrow. Let’s take that part of the discussion over there. I’m curious to hear what you guys think. 🙂
