2015 LEGO Summer Catalog pictures

The Australian version of the 2015 LEGO Summer Catalog is now available online and it lists all of the currently available sets as well as many of the sets that will be coming out in the near future. You can view and download the catalog here: 2015 LEGO SUMMER CATALOG, and below I will list some of the highlights so we can discuss. 🙂

2015 LEGO Summer Catalog

2015 LEGO SCOOBY-DOO SETS: The LEGO Scooby-Doo website is now up and running (see here). It only includes a teaser-image at this point and the caption “We got a mystery to solve!” and that updates and the news sets will be coming in August. In the meantime the catalog has this nice spread of all of the upcoming sets.

2015 LEGO NINJAGO SETS: As we already know, LEGO Ninjago is getting a large wave of sets in August, along with flying spinners. The catalog has several pages dedicated to the theme.

2015 LEGO STAR WARS SETS: Although LEGO is very careful keeping the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets under wraps until September, they did include a teaser-image in the catalog, along with a nice spread of the LEGO Star Wars Buildable Figures.

2015 LEGO SUPER HEROES SETS: The LEGO Super Heroes section of the catalog includes the #76035 LEGO Super Heroes Jokerland set we have heard so much about from the toy fairs earlier this year.

2015 LEGO BIONICLE SETS: The summer LEGO BIONICLE sets are also listed with skinny skeleton looking characters that can also be combined.

2015 LEGO TECHNIC SETS: LEGO Technic is getting some very impressive sets this summer, including the #42043 LEGO Technic Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3245 and the #42042 LEGO Technic Crawler Crane.

2015 LEGO FRIEND SETS: The theme for LEGO Friends this summer is pop stars. “Come join the Friends as they meet their Pop Star idol Livi! Help record her new song at the Recording Studio, style her in the Dressing Room before cheering for her on the Show Stage, then join Livi at the after party on her Popstar Tour Bus! Together with your Friends, you are the star!” And there is also the epic #41101 LEGO Friends Hearlake Grand Hotel so many people are looking forward to.

There are many other 2015 LEGO sets listed in the LEGO Summer Catalog and it is a pleasure to flip through the pages. It is also a great way to plan ahead for purchases this year. Some of the sets featured in the catalog are coming later this summer and some are already out. You can find them under the What’s New section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Nice attention to detail, with the Scooby Doo minifig listing emulating the gang’s different running styles from the TV series. That’s cute.

I really wonder how they did that new SW droid with the round body. Maybe some specialized part?

    • BLProductions June 22, 2015, 1:23 PM

I think the head is a printed version of this part: http://brickset.com/parts/6050914
The bottom could be a soccer ball, but since that would mean the parts are detached I doubt it. So probably the bottom is specialized, and possibly multiple pieces. 😕

Yeah, that would be my guess too. Really curious how they are attaching the two parts.

          Magnets perhaps?

          • admin June 23, 2015, 8:52 AM

I have thought of that, but as far as I know LEGO phased out the use of magnets due to regulations in some countries.

Hey, I just saw your post. Looks great. I found all of the other catalogs if you are interested. I found about 35 of them for all different countries. A few have additional pages.

I find the Minecraft sets interesting, particularly the inclusion of stud shooters. The Snow Golem is pretty funny. 🙂 I want to see more of the Crawler Crane 42042 and the Mercedes Arocs 42043, as they’re very interesting, and I’m curious about their design. Those Toy Fair videos aren’t good enough. 😐
Also, two things: the Episode V Star Wars poster is available from LEGO Shop, if you don’t have it already. And the Ninjago Temple 70751 has gotten an updated name on Brickset: “Temple of Airjitzu.” I want pictures!

    • Legozebra June 22, 2015, 8:52 PM

The name “Tenple of Airjitsu” was unfortunately deduced to probably not be the official name. It came up when someone sent an email to Lego asking about a set named “Temple of Airjitsu” and they said they couldn’t discuss the subject, which most people saw as evidence, but when someone sent an email to Lego inquiring about a fake set, they had the same response, so Temple of Airjistu is just a non confirmed name. However, it’s most likely the temple on the haunted hill featured heavily in episode 4(8?)…

Anyway, thanks to the Target inventory checker, http://brickseek.com/target-inventory-checker, I found Cole and Morro at my local Target in the US by searching for them via their DCPI codes!

      • admin June 23, 2015, 8:54 AM

Oh… I was really looking forward to that temple… anyway, as long as it is going to be a awesome big Ninjago set, I’m sure it will be great. Or at least I hope so…

        • BLProductions June 23, 2015, 10:12 AM

I really would like it to be a big awesome set, except that the larger it gets, the more out of my price range it is. So then I can’t even hope to get it. 🙁
And too bad the Temple of Light couldn’t have been a giant set… it could have been great! But no, we get this little fold out wall and an enormous mech. That whole wave was weak, but it was meant to be the last, and Chima shows that pattern. 😐

          • admin June 23, 2015, 10:21 AM

Yeah, I was so looking forward to an awesome big Ninjago set too. In fact it was the only big set I was really interested in this year, besides whatever is the next Modular. If you only get one or two big sets a year in the $100-$150 range it’s not so bad. Ninjago deserves an UCS style set.

And yes, LEGO definitely missed out on Chima having a gorgeous big set. My guess is that because Chima mainly appealed to little kids, LEGO may have felt that a big set would be too much both in terms of size and price. Ninjago on the other hand appeals to older kids. And the first Ninjago fans are now in their mid-teens. So a large set does make sense to them.

            • Legozebra June 24, 2015, 7:48 AM

There’s definitely a large D2C Ninjago Temple set; it was just the name that was unconfirmed. Sorry if I was misleading…

So many fabulous sets! I came across this link today about Gummie “LEGO’s” and thought you might like to see it!
