How to build a LEGO elephant & more!

Just wanted to show you this cute LEGO elephant designed by LEGO fan and flickr member Bangoo H. The new printed eye pieces opened up a lot of opportunities to create very expressive brick-built creatures, and this elephant is just one of them. Bangoo also designed other adorable LEGO animals including dogs, cats, koalas, and pandas – with instructions included. The nice thing is that all of these animals require few LEGO elements and can easily be built by most LEGO fans. 🙂

As you see this LEGO elephant is pretty simple. All you need is some basic bricks, slopes, a few plates and of course those eyes. If you don’t have all the elements in the right color, don’t worry – rainbow colored elephants are the best! And you can also buy missing pieces either from BrickLink.com, or directly from LEGO’s Pick-A-Brick shop.

Instructions for this LEGO elephant, along with other LEGO animals can be found on Bangoo’s flickr page and website. Enjoy!

Cool! Clever sideways building with the elephants legs and body!

I wish I could look at a pile of bricks and think of things like this. So simple, so perfect.

Shoot! I accidentally commented twice! Thought the first one didn’t go through.

Sometimes it may take a few seconds for a comment to show up depending on how your browser handles cached content. But don’t worry, there are always there. 😉

What fun! I spent a hella amount of time sifting through colors and sizes but I found most of the pieces and managed to adapt where necessary to get an elephant that’s certainly inspired by Bangoo and very close indeed. My grandson is delighted by it and I have to say I’m pretty pleased my own self.

It’s a pretty good scale with a mini fig too.

Thanks so much for sharing that! When I’m up to a few more hours of sorting I’ll take a pass at some of the other figures.
