LEGO stop-motion video: Even the Orcs know…

Here is another great video by the BrotherhoodWorkshop that was created for the “How It Should Have Ended” YouTube channel. In case you are not familiar with it, HISHE features funny alternate endings to movies. This is the second collaboration between the BrotherhoodWorkshop and HISHE. The previous video was an alternate ending to The LEGO Movie (see link at the end of this post). The second video is a recreation of a famous scene from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. 🙂

LEGO Stop Motion Video by the Brotherhood Workshop

In this LEGO stop-motion video by the BrotherhoodWorkshop Aragorn calls on the Army of the Dead to fight the Orcs, just like in the movie. However he didn’t consider that even the Orcs know who to call…

This is a beautifully created stop-motion video, especially taking into account how many characters are involved. However what brickfilmers have been most curious about is how Kevin created the ghost effect. So he posted a behind-the-scenes video explaining how the ghosts were done. It is a pretty involved process, but very effective.

Unfortunately the LEGO Lord of the Rings sets used in this video have been retired, however if you are looking for some Middle Earth sets and characters the LEGO The Hobbit sets are still available at the Online LEGO Shop. And of course the LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 is also an official LEGO set you can find here.

So what do you think? How did you like this LEGO stop-motion video? And what you do think of the tutorial? Did you find it helpful? Do you do LEGO animation yourself? Feel free to share your thoughts and own experiences in the comment section below! 😉

Also, if you would like to learn more about LEGO stop-motion, I highly recommend checking out the other videos from the BrotherhoodWorkshop listed below, or you can also visit their YouTube Channel directly for more.

I found the ending rather difficult to watch. To see them die isn’t very funny. But the film as a whole is great, and as usual a character from a different series was added in (Ghost Vitruvius this time). 🙂
Also this isn’t the second video between HISHE and Brotherhood Workshop. There has also been an alternate HISHE for the LEGO Movie, and “Sand People are Bad Shots.” 😉

The story finishes open ended, so maybe somebody else came to their rescue. That’s why I like it. I’m a huge LOTR fan and would be very upset if the heroes died. I thought it was nice for the film-makers to take that into consideration. I did mention The LEGO Movie collaboration, but I didn’t know the Sand People one was also done with HISHE. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I posted that here…

Actually, in the last scene, where the Ecto-1 drives away, the three are shown surrounded by orcs and getting taken down. 🙁
As far as I know, there are five videos made by HISHE in collaboration with Brotherhood workshop: The LEGO HISHE, the LEGO HISHE 2, Lego Batman is Jelly, Lego Sand People are Bad Shots, and Lego Even Orcs Know. 😉

Oh… maybe I just automatically closed my eyes when that scene came up. Anyway, they can still get help… right?… right?! The eagles can help! There is always something or someone that helps heroes. That’s how it supposed to be. That’s how it should be. 🙁

Of course they have help… after all in the book the Army of the Dead didn’t come to the Battle of Pelennor. But they did have the other Dúnedain of the north, and some armies from the coasts of the Anduin, and all the slaves freed from the Corsairs of Umbar. Lots of help, but Peter Jackson managed to forget them all; hence Aragorn’s predicament in the video. 😉

Oh, good. You got me all worried. I read the books in high-school under my desk, so I don’t remember all the details. The movies I watched several times, so it’s now all a blur in my mind what supposed to happen when. But I love the books and movies equally. 😀

I loved it! He’s getting better and better still at making his videos… 😀

In my opinion his LOTR trilogy videos are by far his strongest. There’s nothing that can be compared to them anywhere else on the internet. I wonder if the Ghostbusters knew anything about Jerry’s distasteful end.

He is a huge LOTR fan. He only started doing other videos because people requested it. But I agree that you can feel his heart is mostly into the LOTR videos.
