LEGO Holiday Gift Shop now open!

If you are on LEGO’s mailing list by ordering directly from the Online LEGO Shop, you should have gotten the 2015 LEGO Holiday Catalog and the 2015 LEGO Late Holiday Catalog by now. If you didn’t get the catalogs, but you would like to, you can call LEGO’s customer service and ask for a copy. The main LEGO Holiday Catalog is a good way to plan your Christmas shopping, as it includes most of the best LEGO sets of the year, suggestions for different budgets and age-groups, and a blank page to compile your wish-list. It is a perfect way for LEGO fans to make their selections. 🙂

Once you have your list ready, you can go to your local LEGO store – if you have one – to make your purchase. If you don’t have a LEGO store near you, or if you prefer to do your LEGO holiday shopping online to avoid the hassle of driving around and fighting the crowds, you can also use the Online LEGO Shop. You can start at the homepage to start browsing, or if you need a little help, LEGO set up a couple of useful pages to get you started.

LEGO HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP: There is a dedicated LEGO Holiday Gift Shop page to help with your shopping. You might use this yourself, or direct people here who are planning to get a LEGO gift for you. Find the best stocking stuffers and gifts for LEGO fans of all ages this holiday season. From LEGO DUPLO sets for younger builders through expert builds for those who are young at heart, find the sets here to make their holiday bright! The LEGO Holiday Gift Shop includes handy links to some of the most popular LEGO sets, stocking stuffers, ultimate gifts, and LEGO Gift Cards. Here is the link: LEGO HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP

LEGO SHOP STOCKING STUFFERS: This section includes small items, mostly under $10; keychains, magnets, holiday decorations and some small LEGO sets. It is not a particularly impressive collection, but if you are on a budget, it is a good place to pick up a few items. Here is the link: LEGO HOLIDAY STOCKING STUFFERS

LEGO ULTIMATE GIFTS: While the stocking stuffers section is a bit sparse, the ultimate gifts selection is truly excellent, including some of the best LEGO sets of the year. It is a good mix of different themes to match different tastes and age-groups. I pretty much agree with LEGO’s selection in this section, but these are large sets, so expect to spend $100+. LEGO ONLINE SHOP: If you are fairly familiar with navigating the Online LEGO Shop, you can also just go to the homepage and start browsing from there. You can search by specific Themes, Categories, Age Range, Exclusives, What’s New, and Sales and Deals. I normally use the themes category if I know what I want, or use the search box on top of the page to find the exact set I’m looking for. Here is the link: ONLINE LEGO SHOP

Shop LEGO October Holiday Set

LEGO EXCLUSIVES: This is one of the categories I find particularly useful. It is similar to the ultimate gifts list, but includes more items without getting too cluttered. If you don’t find the set you are looking for on the ultimate gifts list, I would suggest that you check here for more options. Here is the link: LEGO EXCLUSIVES

LEGO SALES & DEALS: This section is pretty empty right now, but as we get closer to the end of the year, we can expect more items to be added. Often you can find really good deals on retiring LEGO sets. It is always worth taking a look here before you check out, especially if you just need to spend a little more to meet the minimum amount for free shipping. Here is the link: LEGO SALES & DEALS

Shop LEGO Holiday Guide

As we get closer to the holidays we will discuss other places to shop for LEGO, but nothing is as sure as shopping from LEGO directly. Sometimes at retailers you may end up with a set that has been opened and the content removed, giving you the hassle and headache of trying to return it. This has been a growing problem in the past few years as crooks realize that LEGO sets and minifigs have great value. Shopping from LEGO gives you the peace of mind that this won’t happen. Who would want to experience having garbage in their LEGO box on Christmas morning? 🙁

So what’s on your Christmas shopping list? Big sets? Small sets? Whole LEGO themes? Are you asking your friends and relatives to buy LEGO for you? Or are you going to gift yourself? Do you give LEGO as a gift to others? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I believe that Lego was original designed for young children but now teens and adults are enjoying it. Those yellow heads worked for little kids but I think you should now offer an option for those of us who have grown up. Some sets have flesh toned faces so why not offer a face package for general use? You could include a couple of fair complexions and a couple of darker ones and maybe the option of glasses. And you could charge lots of money for them because some of us are desperate to escape the preschool colors. You have sophisticated colors for the blocks but we have lemon heads in the Parisian restaurant. It doesn’t look right.

Barbara, you can easily buy flesh colored heads on BrickLink.com. They are available in several skin-tones, and there are some with glasses. Here is the link to the flesh colored heads, but darker shades (for darker skin) are also available: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?v=2&pg=1&catXrefLevel=0&colorPart=90&catType=P&catID=238

Barbara, I SOoooo agree with you!

I have had that conversation with Lego Customer Reps. I encourage you to do the same. Perhaps when they hear from enough of us they will include 2 or 3 skin tones of heads and hands so children and even adult builders can choose what they identify with or add diversity to their cities and dioramas.
