LEGO Star Wars Battle Figures second wave

When the first wave of the large LEGO Star Wars Battle Figures (also referred to as LEGO Star Wars Constraction Figures) were revealed, LEGO fans looked at them with cautious pessimism. However when they became available it became clear that they are actually really well made, highly poseable, and very fun. In fact, many Star Wars fans started collecting them. You can see the full review of the sets here: LEGO Star Wars Battle Figures Review, and now let’s see what’s coming next.ย ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO Star Wars Buildable Figures Review

There were six characters in the first wave of the LEGO Star Wars Battle Figures, including: Jango Fett, Clone Commander Cody, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader and General Grievous. For collectors of the LEGO Star Wars Battle Figures the great news is that six more characters are coming: Poe Dameron, Finn, Rey, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, and a First Order Stormtrooper. LEGO included a picture of all of them in the November-December issue of the LEGO Club Magazine.

As you can see, they look quite awesome. In general armored characters look better in this building style because of the more mechanical design. In the first wave General Grievous and Darth Vader are the two most impressive characters. Jango Fett and Commander Cody are also excellent. The ones that look most unnatural are Obi-Wan and Luke, because of their human head piece.

In the second wave we get three fully armored characters in the form of Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, and the Stormtrooper, and they all look great. Finn has a human head piece and suffers a bit from the same awkwardness as Obi-Wan and Luke. However it is nice to see that as soon as some type of headgear is added, the characters look so much better. Rey looks great with her head-wrap, and Poeย in that awesome looking helmet and orange suit is definitely my favorite.

LEGO Star Wars Constraction Figures Second Wave

The second wave of LEGO Star Wars Battle Figures is scheduled for release in January, although my guess is that we should start seeing them sometime in the second part of December. In the meantime, if you haven’t done so already, you can get the first wave of characters at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

They look amazing! Even though I don’t really care for Star Wars I will probably get the Stormtrooper of Captain Phasma (as they look awesome and just si-fi-y. Also if these were out for the holidays most likely they would be on top of my top ten list.

If you can only get one( for now) which one would you get first?
(Oh, off topic, I just picked up the dvd A LEGO BRICKUMENTARY, can’t wait to watch it .)

Hm… that’s a tough one. The most interesting and also the largest is General Grievous. Darth Vader is also excellent by himself. But my favorite is Commander Cody. So it just really depends which character you like the most. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think I’ll get commander Cody and Jango fett . So,they can fight each other . I can reverse good guy bad guy roll.

Sounds like a good plan to me! ๐Ÿ˜€

Yeah the armored characters look the best, I want the stormtrooper in the second wave.

Not too interested in these. They look good for the most part, but my small amount of money is needed elsewhere. Those new spring-loaded blasters are cool though, a good way to make the figures more fun to play with. ๐Ÿ™‚
Also, Dimensions wave 2 came out today (DW Level pack, Ninjago Team pack, 3 fun packs). Just a head’s up. ๐Ÿ˜‰
And, admin, should I write a few articles on the 2016 new pieces, like I did last year? I have about 15 pieces currently.

    • admin November 3, 2015, 10:00 PM

Yeah, there are so many new sets competing for our money! I already wrote an article about Dimensions Wave 2, but it won’t be published until the weekend as that was the earliest open slot. Sure, you can go ahead and write about the 2016 pieces, if you like. New pieces are always interesting to talk about, and are very important subject to MOC-ers.

Well, my money is mostly in Ninjago, Ultra Agents, and SW right now. It’s just a debate of which of the sets I want I should get. The goal is to get the Gingerbread house promo. ๐Ÿ™‚
Ok, I’ll try to write an article on the new parts next week, as this week I haven’t the time. Hopefully 2016 won’t be like 2015, with new parts popping up all over. ๐Ÿ˜•

LEGO has been churning out a lot of new parts, but it will probably slow. I think most of the new ones will be in the minifigs accessory department.

I almost got General Grievous because it looks so great, but the price tag (and the fact that I don’t care that much about the character himself) was a big deterrent.

I’m with you on the armored, non-armored characters, and if I get only one of these “mega-figures” – if I get one, it’ll be only one – I’ll pick a stormtrooper or Captain Phasma.

    • admin November 4, 2015, 3:23 PM

Yeah, the price is a bit high on these, but the quality is excellent, so if you ever end up buying one you won’t be disappointed. ๐Ÿ™‚

Most of these look cool, but I think that the faces look strange. Lego is much better at the helmeted character heads.

    • admin November 8, 2015, 2:24 PM

Yes, I agree. Most action figures of these types (not just LEGO) do look strange.
