November 2015 – new LEGO sets & promotions

November is an important month for LEGO fans because this is when the official holiday shopping season begins with various perks and incentives directly from LEGO, as well as from other LEGO retailers. Today we will look at the LEGO Store Calendar to see what LEGO has to offer, and then during the month we will also look at other shopping options. ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO Store Calendar - November 2015

โžก FREE LEGO CREATOR HOLIDAY SETS: The first seasonal set with the #40138 LEGO Creator Holiday Train started last month, and will continue until November 13th. You can get the set with any purchase of $99 or more. The second seasonal set is the #40139 LEGO Creator Gingerbread House, that will be available during the Brick Friday weekend from November 27th, with any purchase of $99 or more. These those sets are always the highlight of the season, and this year they are particularly sweet. They also go really well with the LEGO Winter Village sets.

โžก FREE LEGO WALL CALENDAR: Besides the above mentioned specials, from November 15 to December 24th you can also get a free exclusive 2016 LEGO Wall Calendar with purchase of $75 or more – while supplies last. These calendars are a nice gift for LEGO fans, and usually include special coupons that you can redeem next year.

Shop LEGO Holiday Sets

โžก LEGO HOLIDAY SETS: If you haven’t gotten this year’s holiday sets yet, I strongly recommend that you do so as soon as possible because they always sell out long before Christmas. This includes the #10249 LEGO Creator Winter Toy Shop, and last year’s #10245 LEGO Santa’s Workshop. Also, you may consider the LEGO City, LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Friends Advent Calendars, as they are a really fun way to count down for Christmas. You can find them under the seasonal section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop LEGO Advent Calendars

โžก BRICK FRIDAY SALES: The day after Thanksgiving is the official beginning of the holiday shopping madness with many retailers offering special sales (November 27th-29th). LEGO calls this weekend Brick Friday instead of Black Friday, and this is when the second seasonal set will be available, as we discussed above. There are no details on what these special offers are going to be, but it is usually select LEGO sets on sale, and possibly double or even triple VIP points on some sets. In addition, there will be early holiday offers for LEGO VIP members on November 21st.

So to summarize, make sure you get the holiday related sets (like the LEGO Advent Calendars and LEGO Winter Village sets) as soon as possible at your local LEGO store or the Online LEGO Shop. For other sets you may want to wait until Brick Friday for special offers and the second free holiday set. What do you think? Are you planning to do some LEGO shopping this month? The free Lego wall calendars are nice, but I preferred what they did a few years ago with the free little PAB cartons with purchases of a certain price that could be used in January and February. I don’t usually buy from the PAB wall because of budget issues(too many great sets to buy), but I do love it when it’s free.

    • admin November 1, 2015, 11:17 AM

Yes, those cartons were great! ๐Ÿ™‚

Those were amazing, I had two last year and I when on my birthday with those two boxes (I stacked all the bricks into a solid block and got as many as I could), but in just those two boxes I got over 4,000 parts (and I got no 1×1 studs)!

I hope that Lego will do a big gingerbread house for next season! I have seen a few moc:s over time and also among Lego Ideas entries. Fingers crossed!

Are the Lego calendars only available IN STORE or can you get them via online Shop@Home?

    • admin November 1, 2015, 12:17 PM

Krista, as far as I know they are available both in store and online. When you check out online you should see it added to your cart.

  • Tyler November 1, 2015, 11:32 AM

    Triple points would be swell.

    • admin November 1, 2015, 12:16 PM

Yeah, the last time I have seen that was I believe three years ago. But it’s okay to dream… ๐Ÿ™„

  • TheBrickLot November 1, 2015, 1:11 PM

Time to get the rest of Dimensions! I separated the orders so I could get the gingerbread house too.

    • admin November 1, 2015, 1:28 PM

      Ah! Smart move! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Lisa November 1, 2015, 3:21 PM

Is the gingerbread house only available at the Lego stores or can you get it if you buy something online. It is too cute. I love a big gingerbread house too.

    • admin November 1, 2015, 3:35 PM

Lisa, yes you will get it if you shop online as well on the dates mentioned. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • TheBrickLot November 1, 2015, 3:48 PM

Hey Admin I’m working on top ten LEGO sets list (you know for the holidays), but how do you typically do them because it was kind of hard to ask a lot of kids there opinion.

    • admin November 1, 2015, 3:55 PM

Hm… I do them every year as well, but a bit differently. You can read the one I wrote last year to get an idea. You might want to do a survey on your blog and YouTube channel and let your followers decide. Or you could just pick five for adults and five for kids that you can be pretty sure pretty much anyone would be happy about. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • TheBrickLot November 1, 2015, 4:39 PM

That’s what I did this year, asking kids and adults and tallying them up, I was just wondering what you did.

        • admin November 1, 2015, 6:47 PM

I usually break it down to best sets for adults, best sets for boys, best sets for girls, best big sets, best small sets – things like that.

    • TheBrickLot November 2, 2015, 1:06 PM

I have made the more important one now (10-13) ! Do you think it is accurate Admin?

      • admin November 2, 2015, 1:53 PM

I think it’s a reasonable list. I don’t so much agree with the TIE-fighter though, as it is pretty boring once you build it. It is more a model for display rather than a play-set, and 10-13 year-olds definitely still want to play. ๐Ÿ˜‰

        • TheBrickLot November 2, 2015, 5:36 PM

Yes I don’t like it either, but that’s what the kids said, trust me the adult section tomorrow will be very different.

Am I the only one who had problems with the Lego Store online the past week? Multiple browsers. Multiple devices. Errors when I tried to check out. Empty search results. Kept getting knocked back to the home page. It was ridiculous. And now I missed out on double points.

    • admin November 2, 2015, 12:48 PM

Yep, I experienced that as well. When they have an influx of traffic the site can behave abnormally like that. I had good luck using Firefox though to navigate the site without errors and being kicked back to the homepage. It doesn’t always work, but definitely works better than on Internet Explorer.

  • TheBrickLot November 2, 2015, 6:20 PM

Hey Admin did you see the Dimensions update (buy hero)? It is super useful and fun if you just want to see the characters moves (it does cost 50,000 studs for 30 seconds, but if you are in something using the character, like Benny in a hacking panel, it lets you go forever!)! Also I would appreciate it if you could take my 30 sec. survey.

    • admin November 2, 2015, 6:51 PM

Yeah, I rad about the hero thing. I think it was a good idea for them to add it.

      • TheBrickLot November 3, 2015, 12:02 AM

Ya, it is awesome and super helpful for getting all the minikits
