Online LEGO Shop lowers free shipping limit!

Just a quick notice that at the beginning of the month LEGO lowered the minimum purchase amount to qualify for free shipping from $75 to $35. This is a huge plus to LEGO fans who would like to get a smaller set, and don’t really want to boost their orders just to meet a higher threshold. And it is also excellent for people who don’t live near a LEGO store or reseller, and have to rely on the Online LEGO Shop to get their favorite LEGO sets. 🙂

Shop Free Shipping

For orders below $35 there is still a small shipping fee ($4.95 for orders up to $25 and $6.95 for orders up to $35 using standard shipping), but this is understandable. It is interesting to note that while LEGO is lowering the minimum threshold for free shipping, Amazon just recently raised theirs $49. Maybe there is a bit of competition going on? 🙄

LEGO Store Calendar July 2016 Back

Most medium size LEGO sets fall in the $20-$50 range, so you have lots of sets to choose from without spending a fortune, and still qualify for free shipping. To give you a few examples, the recently released #40134 LEGO City Fun in the Park – City People Pack is $39.99, the #31053 LEGO Creator Tree House Adventures is $34.99, the #76056 LEGO Super Heroes Batman: Rescue from Ra’s al Ghul is $29.99, and there are many more mid-price range sets in every theme. Or you might choose to get a couple of smaller sets for a greater variety. You can find a summary of all the new sets and promotions here: July 2016 – New LEGO Sets & Promotions, or head over directly to the What’s New section of the Online LEGO Shop.

The lower shipping threshold is not a special promotion for this month, but a permanent change, so you don’t have to worry about placing an order before a deadline either. I’m really happy and grateful for LEGO to make this move. I found $75 a bit high, and sometimes I had smaller sets sitting in my cart for months before I had enough to place a larger order that also qualified for free shipping. I was wishing that they would lower the threshold to $50, so what they did is even better than what I hoped for!

Shop July Specials

And if you are a LEGO VIP member you can also get the free exclusive #5004419 LEGO Castle Classic Knight with purchases of $50 or more until the end of tomorrow (July 10th). So what do you think? Are you planning to get anything now that you don’t have to spend that much at one time to qualify for free shipping? Feel free to share in the comment section below! 😉

No change in the UK as we still have to spend £50 for free shipping. Lego could do with offering more delivery options here in the UK, as the shipping companies that Lego use are not very reliable. I’m very fortunate in that I live 35 miles away from the Lego Store, so can visit.

That’s too bad! Maybe they will implement it later? It’s new in the USA as well.

I just ordered $38 worth of Pick a Brick last night and had to pay $7 shipping.

Hm… does Pick-A-Brick considered to be part of normal LEGO orders?

I actually came back to say that I started to write an inquiry to Lego and when I looked at my order again it ended up $38 but that was after the taxes and shipping. It was only $28 before those things.

I’m embarrassed especially since, if I had been more analytical at the time of the order I might have ordered a few more bricks. 😵

Oh, I see… that makes sense. I have done that a few times too, but fortunately always caught it before checking out. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
