LEGO presidential candidates & more!

2016 is a big year for the United States, as voters will select their 45th president. While LEGO would not release political or religious themed sets and minifigures, this does not stop LEGO fans from recreating historical events and personalities in LEGO form. You can replicate most people by using currently available minifigure parts. Well-selected hairpieces, facial prints, clothing, and accessories can make minifigs quite recognizable. And if you want the best of the best, you can also turn to LEGO customizers who can do their own design and printing to make a minifig match a real person. 🙂

For the 2016 presidential election LEGO customizer EclipseGRAFX created three minifigures: Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Republican nominee Donald Trump, and also the current president Barack Obama. Hillary Clinton is available in three different color pantsuits – white, red, or blue – each with a slightly different design (you can collect her whole wardrobe, if you want!). She also comes with a double-sided head with a smile and a serious expression. Donald Trump comes in a blue suit with red tie, and with his signature hairstyle, plus an additional red cap. Both of his facial expressions are priceless and match the candidate perfectly! President Obama got no hair or double facial expression, but has a great smile and a blue suit with blue tie. You can find all three minifigures, along with many other custom printed items, at EclipseBricks.com. I can vouch for their topnotch quality, as I shop at their online store regularly.

I should also mention that another LEGO customizer who carries political minifigures is Minifigures.com. As they are a UK based customizer, their focus is on their own political figures, like Winston Churchill, David Cameron, Boris Johnson, and more. And they also have minifigure versions of Marthin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela, and Barack Obama. All of these minifigures have been designed and printed with great care and attention, and packaged in their own hard plastic cases with unique identification cards for each. You can check out the whole selection at Minifigures.com. They also ship worldwide for a reasonable shipping fee.

Another customizer LEGO fans in the UK may be interested in is Minifigs.me. They have a huge range of custom LEGO minifigures, and you can also request your own. In the public figures category they mostly focus on the British royal family, including the Queen, Prince George, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Prince Harry, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and more. You can check out their full selection at Minifigs.me. They ship worldwide for a reasonable shipping fee as well.

As you can see, there are plenty of political minifigures to choose from in case you want to commemorate your favorite political figures, presidential candidates, or for playing out political scenes. If you would like to share your favorites, or write your own review on the ones you already have, feel free to share in the comment section below! 😉

I used Minifigs.me to order a customized “Will You Marry Me?” figure and was very impressed with the quality. Even with shipping to the US it was very reasonably priced. I would certainly buy something from them again.

Yes, minifigs.me has some really fun minifigures. All three of these customizers have excellent quality I have inspected personally, so yeah, they are awesome, and I would recommend them. 🙂

      Oh! LOL! Those faces! 😀

These are great, except the Republican nominee is not orange enough 🙂

Yes, I agree. He is a bit pale here. He needs an orange face and bright yellow hair! 🙄

These look good. Remarkably recognisable!! Just wondering ehich hairpiece is used for Hilary? I really like that hairpiece.

      Sorry, ‘which hairpiece’

Alison, it’s usually referred to as Anakin’s hair, as he was the first minifig it came with. Since then it came with many other minifigs in several colors: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=43753&idColor=120#T=C&C=120

Thank you – I’ve just added it to my bricklink wanted list. Hairpieces can be so difficult to find on there if you don’t know the minifigure they came with!
