Watch LEGO DC Super Hero Girls mini-movies!

LEGO DC Super Hero Girls is the latest collection from LEGO featuring mini-dolls, this time in superhero costumes! LEGO DC Super Hero Girls is based on a new franchise launched by DC Comics and Mattel in 2015, featuring well-known DC superheroes as teens, dealing with the awkwardness of growing up and attending high school, with the added stress of having superpowers. The franchise includes a mini-movie series, books, action figures from Mattel, and now LEGO sets. 🙂

There has been six LEGO DC Super Hero Girls sets released so far, with four more coming this summer. We have talked about the sets previously (see links at the end of this post), but in summary, it is nice collection with some interesting sets in every price-range, and the mini-dolls are absolutely adorable.

Besides the sets, LEGO also released a series of LEGO DC Super Hero Girls mini-movies, featuring the adventures of the characters. The episodes are 3-4 minutes long each, and are quite enjoyable. In the play-list below, I have included all of the episodes, and I also added the LEGO version of the music-video for LEGO DC Super Hero Girls, titled “Get Your Cape On” – it’s a really catchy song. Enjoy!

An interesting feature of the mini-movies is that it includes characters from some of the future sets. If you are collecting the mini-dolls it is good to know what’s coming. Just to recap, nine LEGO DC Super Hero Girls mini-dolls are already available: Batgirl, Bumblebee, Harley Quinn, Lashina, Lena Luthor, Poison Ivy, Super Girl, Wonder Woman, and the lone guy, Steve Trevor. In addition we already know that Mad Harriett is coming this summer in the #41237 LEGO DC Super Hero Girls Batgirl Secret Bunker, and we will also get Eclipso and The Flash in the #41239 LEGO DC Super Hero Girls Eclipso Dark Palace. There will also be a variation (different color outfits) of Harley Quinn, Batgirl, Super Girl, and Wonder Woman. That’s a nice collection, but I wouldn’t mind to see some other DC characters as well.

If you don’t have the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls sets, I do recommend trying out at least some of the smaller ones, as they come with some interesting pieces and colors. For example, the #41235 LEGO DC Super Hero Girls Wonder Woman Dorm includes a sweet invisible bike unique to the set! Currently some of the sets are on sale, so it’s a good time to check out the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls collection? Do you have any of the sets already? And how do you like the superhero mini-dolls? What other characters would you like to see in the series? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

The minidolls are cute, but I don’t think the story is as fun as Friends, Elves, etc. I guess lego’s hands are tied by DC?

Yeah, I agree. As they are licensed characters LEGO needs to be true to the original show. So while the story may not be as original as LEGO Friends, or as creative as LEGO Elves, the characters are really nicely detailed. That’s why I collect them. 😀
