LEGO Star Wars UCS Kessel Run Falcon

While we have gotten many different sizes and designs of the Millennium Falcon through the years, the recently released #75212 LEGO Star Wars Kessel Run Millennium Falcon is unique amongst them all; it’s the only Falcon that is not prominently gray. The fresh white and blue color-scheme is inspired by the newer and shinier version of the Falcon from the Solo: A Star Wars Story film, when Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca were just starting out on their intergalactic adventures. The #75212 LEGO Star Wars Kessel Run Millennium Falcon is also the only version that comes with the detachable escape pod at the front, which makes it extra unique. ๐Ÿ™‚

Another unique set that was recently released is the #75192 LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon, which is one of the largest LEGO sets ever made, with 7,541 pieces, and a massive size of over 8โ€ (21cm) high, 33โ€ (84cm) long and 22โ€ (56cm) wide. The set is a remake of the #10179 LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon from 2007 with the same size, but lots of upgrades.

When we first started to get glimpses of Solo: A Star Wars Story via trailers and teaser images, there was a lot of focus on the pod that filled up the space between the prongs at the front of the Falcon. At that point, it was not clear what was the purpose of the pod, whether it was removable, and how was it eventually lost.

Back in February, we featured a very impressive customized version of the #75192 LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon with a removable pod (see: LEGO Millennium Falcon to Kessel Run Falcon). The original set already features interchangeable sensor dishes and crew, so you can decide whether to play out classic LEGO Star Wars adventures with Han, Leia, Chewbacca and C-3PO, or enter the world of Episode VII and VIII with older Han, Rey, Finn and BB-8. And, with the addition of the pod at the front, the Solo: A Star Wars Story version of the Falcon was added as well! (I’m actually surprised LEGO didn’t wait just a little bit longer so they could do this themselves.)

While the customized #75192 LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon is definitely awesome, the one thing that it could not re-create is the white and blue color-scheme of the Falcon from its early years. However, LEGO fans are up to such challenges, and it was pretty much inevitable that someone will attempt to recreate the Kessel Run Falcon in Ultimate Collector Series scale. So, here we go; the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Kessel Run Millennium Falcon, by LEGO fan OldStoneGrey.

According to its creator, the LEGO Star Wars UCS Kessel Run Millennium Falcon is built on the frame of the 2007 version of the Ultimate Collector Series Falcon, but with the cockpit tube and airlock corridors of the 2017 version. And, yes, the whole thing is fresh and shiny white and blue, and the pod at the front is removable. OldStoneGrey is still working on some of the details, and possibly a full interior, so if you are interested, keep an eye on his account.

If you are interested to tinker with your own Falcon, both the smaller #75212 LEGO Star Wars Kessel Run Millennium Falcon, and the #75192 LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon are currently available at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like this Ultimate Collector Series version of the LEGO Star Wars Kessel Run Millennium Falcon? Do you own any of the LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcons? Which one is your favorite? Have you done any modifications to them? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wow! That’s a crazy big project! I assume the interior was kept mostly gray? Still impressive, especially since it combines both of the UCS Falcons.

OldStoneGrey said they will post more pictures when the project is finished. If I remember correctly they mentioned they want to do a detailed interior. ๐Ÿ™‚

Very nice. One thing I don’t like about the 75212 Kessel Falcon is that the white highlights the gaps and other imperfections. The UCS version suffers from this a little bit too at the angle of the corridor. Other than that, I really like the extra color.

      Hm… now I can’t un-see those gaps! ๐Ÿ™„

This is awesome! Are there any other pictures from other angles?

This is the only picture available right now. OldStoneGrey said they are still not finished with the project, but they will post more pictures when it is done. ๐Ÿ™‚

If I would have the UCS Falcon, I would be scared to customize is. It’s so much work to build them! Ha-ha!!

Yeah, tell me about it! You can actually get serious carpal-tunnel and back pain from assembling the Falcon! ๐Ÿ˜€

    My eyes! My eyes!
What an abomination lol I mean all credit to the builders who obviously worked super hard on these they are impressive and if I had to choose one as a favourite I would have to say the grey version every time.
I am not a fan of the Kessel Run colour scheme at all, the ship will always look itโ€™s best in lovely grey!
    Impressive work though.

Yeah, for long-time Star Wars fans, the Kessel Run Falcon does look strange. I didn’t like it that much in the Solo movie myself. The gray version is so much more rugged, and it looks better in LEGO too. As TomTom said, the white highlights some of the imperfections. But then again, I grew up with Star Wars, and like you, I’m partial. I do know some people who like the Kessel Run Falcon quite a bit though, so this is for them. ๐Ÿ˜€

I have an older millennium falcon and gray coloration makes it look like a “hunk of junk ” like they say in the movie.

    • admin July 17, 2018, 8:36 PM

Yeah! That’s what’s so awesome about it. ๐Ÿ˜€

What’s up with the new movies having the Falcon sliding on its belly? It’s so weird! I also prefer the gray Falcon, but I can see why others prefer the white version.

    • admin July 18, 2018, 9:14 PM

LOL! I noticed that too! It was pretty cool in The Force Awakens, but after a while it was getting old.

Generations grew up with the gray falcon. I don’t know if I can ever get used to the white one. And knowing that the movie didn’t do so well, I doubt that it will ever become as iconic as the gray falcon. I like the addition of the escape pod to the gray falcon better. It adds another dimension to the story. Having said that, I appreciate that someone made an UCS white falcon. It had to be done. LOL.
