LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigs & more!

While most of The LEGO Movie 2 sets were released in January, The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures didn’t become available until the beginning of February. The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures series includes twenty characters. They are as follows: Emmet, Battle-Ready Lucy, Apocalypse Benny, Giraffe Guy, Crayon Girl, Sherry Scratchen-Post with Scarfield, Hula Lula, Watermelon Dude, Flashback Lucy, The Swamp Creature, Candy Rapper, Gone Golfin’ President Business, Apocalypseburg Abe, Vest Friend Rex, Kitty Pop, Dorothy Gale with Toto, Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Unikitty. 🙂

As usual, all the characters come with one or more accessory elements, a collector’s leaflet, and a display baseplate. Some of the most useful accessories include Emmet’s headphone/hair combination and printed 1×2 tile, Apocalypse Benny’s toolbox with LEGO Classic Space logo, Crayon Girl’s cute drawing, Hula Lula’s 2×2 round tile with record print, Flashback Lucy’s record award, Watermelon Dude’s printed watermelon slice, Candy Rapper’s printed cassette tape, President Business’s golf club, and Kitty Pop’s guitar with new print.

The most notable feature of this series is that you can get an entire collection of Wizard of Oz characters; Dorothy with Toto, the Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Man. All four of them are beautifully designed minifigs with lots of printed details and nice accessories. I especially like Dorothy’s hairpiece. The watermelon costume, giraffe costume, and crayon costume are great too, and are nice additions to the previously released costumed minifigs.

The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures should be available at LEGO retailers by now, and you can also order them online. However, remember that if you purchase them online, you can’t request specific minifigs. Even if you order more than one mystery bag, you may receive two or more identical figures instead of different ones. Of course, you can always trade them with other LEGO fans, which could be part of the fun. The new pod is available at The LEGO Movie 2 section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Another fun item related to The LEGO Movie 2 that was recently released and we haven’t talked about yet is the #853874 LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Construction Pod. This portable little orange pod features a cool lenticular image on the outside – view it from different angles to see either a picture of Emmet’s head or The LEGO Movie 2 logo. It contains an Emmet minifigure, construction site LEGO baseplate attached to the inside of the pod, a buildable excavator, and extra pieces to represent rubble. If you have been collecting the LEGO pods, this is a nice addition. You can also find this set at The LEGO Movie 2 section of the Online LEGO Shop.

There are also a bunch of accessory items you may consider to show your enthusiasm for The LEGO Movie 2. There is an Emmet Alarm Clock, Emmet Watch, Unikitty Watch, Lucy Plush (some of the other characters are also available at retailers), a wearable Lucy hair extension, and a notebook with Sweet Mayhem on the cover and two sticker sheets (I love LEGO notebooks!). They are also available at The LEGO Movie 2 section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? Are you planning to get The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures? Do you have any favorite minifigs in this series? And are there are other movie merchandise you are planning to get? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

I remember with the first Lego mystery bag series, I ordered maybe five or six bags . I managed to get four cave man mini figures . I so disappointed that I stopped ordering the bags on line. I did gave it another try when the Harry potter mystery bags came out and I was very lucky . No doubles. I like the Adventure( or the hunt) of feeling to guess what’s in the bags and seeing how lucky I can get. As for the four cave men I got , I just made them into a family. I don’t mind getting doubles now because it’s always good to have a spare. In fact I what to get a few watermelon guys and make them into queen watevra wa’nabi’s army ( i know it’s not like in the movie but, I’m using my imagination. Which is encouraged buy Lego.) I have yet to see the movie . So, shhhhh, please not word about it please .

Thanks for the write up on these! @Legostuff14 – FWIW, I gave up on buying random blind bags of minifigs awhile ago – just go straight to ebay and buy the whole set (pre-fondled) so no duplicates. At basically the same cost as if I did the work myself. So much easier. Looking forward to this set! My purple loving son will be over the moon at the crayon girl!

Awww… that crayon girl is super cute! I also pretty much just by minifigs online. Too much hassle to even find a store that carries them, and then not to speak of finding the minifigs I want.

Just FYI. The sewer baby pack is also available now. It’s a little expensive, and it only has two sewer babies, but this is the only way to get them.

Oh, cool! I like that one, the Emmet pod and the Benny squad. From the minifigs I want the most Benny, the giraffe dude, the crayon girl, and Abe, because of the cool steampunk hat!

The pack with the two sewer babies in it , is a ” I’ll take it or leave it” mind set for me. I think Lego should of made a $9.99 set with a lot of sewer babies in it with a waste land accessories ( a tire, a garbage can and maybe a stray cat or a rat in the set) that ( to me ) be worth buying.

I love the giraffe minifigure! 😀 Felt through nearly an entire box to find it but it was worth it. 😉 It’s also cool that this series comes with extra pieces.

I couldn’t resist getting the sewer babies, but I won’t be getting any more unless I find them at a pretty good price.

There’s also a Sweet Mayhem pod, by the way. If it had included her mask/hat, I’d have been sunk but it didn’t, so it was an easy pass. 😛

I guess it’s a helmet, more than anything else… At least, the pod contained the hairpiece.

Yeah, that was a big miss on Sweet Mayhem. I would have bought it instantly if she has her mask and wings! 😀

Same here! I’m not a fan of minidolls at all but Sweet Mayhem is really cool (minus the blue hair – I can get over the pink face but light blue hair is really too much) and goes astonishingly well with minifigures.

There are so many scenes in the movie when minifigs, mini-dolls, and DUPLO figures are together. It’s actually pretty cool. In one of my favorite scenes, three different versions of Wonder Woman (minifig, mini-doll, DUPLO), are lying next to each other. 😀
