LEGO Stranger Things Poster & More!

The third season of the American science fiction-horror web television series Stranger Things premiered on Netflix a few days ago, which means new interest in the recently released #75810 LEGO Stranger Things: The Upside Down set (for more info and full review check the links at the end of this post). To celebrate the event, LEGO is running an unadvertised promotion. Details below.

The free exclusive #5005956 LEGO Stranger Things Art Print offer is valid with the purchase of the #75810 LEGO Stranger Things: The Upside Down set at the Online LEGO Shop, until March 14th (or while stock lasts). Please note that this promotion won’t be added to your cart automatically. You will have to add the promotional code into the promo code box of your shopping cart. The promotional code is: GONE

We talked about the set already in detail, but I will add the official description here again for your convenience: The ultimate LEGO Stranger Things model to build and collect! Fans of the global hit Netflix original series will appreciate the authentic details of this highly collectible LEGO Stranger Things toy. The sturdy, brick-built model can flip between the real world and The Upside Down. The design of the model’s building instructions makes it a great, shared building experience with friends and family. The Byers’ house features Will’s bedroom, the living room, and the dining room. The Upside Down version of the house, from an alternate dimension, features all the rooms from the real-world model but with a dark, vine-covered, dilapidated look that fans will instantly recognize from the series. With eight Stranger Things figures, each with its own accessories, this playset makes a great gift for Stranger Things fans who will love to build and display this model to show their passion for the series. Measures over 12” (32cm) tall, 17” (44cm) wide and 8” (21cm) deep. Includes 8 minifigures: Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, Will Byers, Joyce Byers, Chief Jim Hopper and the Demogorgon. 2,287 pieces. Price: $199.99 – BUY HERE

Another interesting piece of related news is that the LEGO Group participated in Netflix’s Fun Fair at Santa Monica Pier to celebrate the upcoming release of the highly anticipated Stranger Things Season 3 on July 4. Throughout the weekend, attendees were invited to help bring to life a LEGO brick-built mosaic of the Stranger Things Season 3 poster. Measuring 90 inches tall and 60 inches wide, the mural is made up of over 56,000 bricks and took over 40 hours to design. In the video below, you can see the mosaic coming together.

To recap, remember that the Stranger Things promotional poster is only available until the end of this week. So, if you have been thinking about buying the set, and would like a cool LEGO poster with it, this is a good time to get it at the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the LEGO Stranger Things: The Upside-Down set? Have you been watching the show on Netflix? Are you planning to get the LEGO set? Or do you have it already? Feel free to share your thoughts and own reviews in the comment section below!

I don’t like that now you have to apply these random promo codes. How do we even suppose to know about them? If I buy the set, the promo should be automatically added at checkout. At least put something on the homepage so people are aware they have to use a code. Thanks, admin, for letting us know.

The mosaic is really good. I would love to participate in building something like that. And thanks for the promo code!

Thanks for the code! Right on time! They are also having some great sales right now, with over 100 sets on sale. In case anyone is interested.

Thanks for the code! It works!

I really don’t like the changes that Lego has made for earning points now . It has become more confusing as always. Like we as people tend to do and make things complicated . Unless I’m not reading it correctly on how this point system works. It’s bad that ( we as fans ) have to spend a lot of money to get certain promos in the first place.

    • admin July 12, 2019, 9:02 PM

We will talk about the updated VIP program next week. The points are actually worth as much as before. It’s just the calculations that are more complicated. This is because they are now pegging VIP points to the Danish DKK. I agree it’s complicated, but I do like that now you can earn and spend points in several different ways. Anyway, we will talk more about it next week. 🙂

It also seemed as if you can’t use your points for shopping directly, but needed to redeem a voucher with a code, and then use the code for shopping within 30 days, as well as needing to install an app.

Although I haven’t bothered to look into the system fully, yet.

        • admin July 13, 2019, 7:43 PM

Yes, that is correct. This is one of the features communities are already complaining about. It makes shopping a lot more complex. Even worse is that you also need to get a voucher for in-store shopping. Which is when people usually do impulse shopping. Meaning, they don’t plan ahead as much. The hope is that these systems will be integrated better.

Another main complaint right now is that apparently the translation to other languages than English is very bad.

          • Håkan July 13, 2019, 9:03 PM

Yeah, that last point is rather surprising. Shopping bonus points systems have been made deliberately complicated before, but you’d guess the biggest toy company in the world would be willing to spend some money for a proper, professional translation.

Apparently, the reward program is now managed by a third party, which makes things quite complicated. I do hope that they can make integration smoother in the near future. It’s crazy that right now we have to generate codes before shopping online or at stores. I expect very vocal protest from LEGO fans on social media. That should speed up progress. 🙄

And a Barb minifigure will be released exclusively on San Diego Comic-Con, being nearly impossible to get without paying through your nose and ears…

  • Legostuff14 July 12, 2019, 7:33 PM

Not only that ,but, because certain minifigures are so hard to get someone other than Lego is going to make a profit off of their own product. I say keep it in the Lego stores and Lego. Shop at home site.

NO argument there. This has been brought up at the Ambassador Forum many times, and it did have an effect, because they will no longer have regionally exclusive sets. However the SDCC and other special even sets/minifigs will remain. This probably has to do with marketing, and may even be a requirement for participating at events like SDCC. I’m not sure.

  • Legostuff14 July 12, 2019, 10:22 PM

I would love to get the stranger things upside down set but, I just don’t know how it would fit in my collection. I’m also trying not to start any new themes ( with the exception of hidden sides) that theme can go with my monster fighter sets. Also considering they are missing a couple of important characters in the stranger things set.

    • admin July 13, 2019, 7:46 PM

I agree that it doesn’t really fit with anything. I have the set, but I took it apart and will use the parts for something else. If you are a diehard fan of the show, or you really want the parts, it makes sense, otherwise there are better choices.

  • Legostuff14 July 14, 2019, 7:29 PM

Oh, I like the show ( a lot) but, i just don’t want it to be another set that I can’t use with the rest of the themes I have. I figure there’s other things to collect from the show that’s not so expensive and takes up less space.

    • admin July 14, 2019, 9:23 PM

Yeah, I can understand that. I do hope they release a smaller set too with just the key characters and maybe a small setting.
