LEGO Lead User Lab Community Survey

As we discussed previously, Lead User Lab is a new initiative by LEGO to capture project and product ideas from the LEGO fan community, evaluate their potential, and bring them to life in new ways. Since the initial announcement back in June, the Lead User Lab team has been assembled, and they held their first interactive event with the LEGO fan community at the end of September. You can learn more about Lead User Lab and the progress made so far via the links at the end of this post.

A few days ago, the Lead User Lab team reached out to LEGO Ambassadors about a survey they would like members of the LEGO fan community to fill out. It explores the interest of the adult LEGO fan community in three areas; lights used for LEGO models and displays, customizing with stickers and prints, and LEGO jewelry. (Please note that this is just an exploration of these topics, and not an indication of specific future product offerings. Other areas will be explored in future surveys.)

I filled out the survey already, and found it quite interesting. For each category, there are questions about the type of products and solutions you’re familiar with, already using, and would like to see in the future. Completing the three sections of the survey takes about 10-15 minutes.

The Lead User Lab team is hoping that as many LEGO fans fill out the survey as possible, and share their valuable input and opinions. The more feedback, the better they can judge interest in these areas. So, if you have a few minutes, please fill out the survey, and you’re also welcome to share it through your own social media channels to the wider LEGO fan community. You can access the survey at the following link: LEGO LEAD USER LAB SURVEY

What do you think? How do you like the development of Lead User Lab so far? And what did you think of the survey? Do you have any interest in the three categories mentioned; lights, customization, and jewelry? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

Done! I’m curious what comes out of this.

Done. The questions were interesting. I didn’t really understand the jewelry section though. But I guess because I don’t wera jewelry. Ha-ha.

I would love if they would add more light options. I don’t care for jewelry, and my guess is that customization will always remain a personal thing or something done by customizers.

I would also like more light solutions. Lego jewelry is lame. At least it’s not for me. It seems like that by customization they only mean stickers and printing. I think they have printing service at some Lego shops. It’s basic though. Just pringing your name.

I’m curious what will come out of lead user lab, if anything. I think it’s a great initiative, but if course it all depends on the details. Admin, do you know anyone who is already in touch with them?

There are some people I heard that were in touch, but nothing concrete. I think it’s best if we wait for more solid information.

Hmmm, the jewelry part seems least useful to me, as well, although that apparently is the closest to any really substantiated rumored upcoming theme. (Dots.)

    • admin November 6, 2019, 5:31 PM

Is Dots still coming? I read somewhere that it was canceled.

I’ve read that it will appear in 2020, probably slightly redesigned. It’s been listed at different rumor lists.

Well, I’m looking forward seeing what they look like. I love Clickits pieces, so maybe something similar? 😀

          • Håkan November 7, 2019, 2:56 PM

If the theme could be used for decorative highlighting, like Clikits, I’m for it…

Yes, that’s how I use them too. 😀
