LEGO VIP Reward Center Updates & Changes

A few days ago, LEGO updated the LEGO VIP Reward Center page. This refresh has a number of visual changes to the platform, but more importantly there are a number of technology changes that went live in the background. Below are the details.

The look and feel of the LEGO VIP Reward Center has been refreshed to make navigation around the site easier and more dynamic. The sign-in process has been improved as well.

The location and language you are viewing LEGO.com now follows you onto the LEGO VIP Reward Center (finally!). There is now a pop-up banner to inform you when you’re no longer in your VIP home country. This is in response to the LEGO VIP team hearing cases where members had redeemed rewards in the wrong country and have been unable to get these rewards properly credited to them after the fact. To avoid this confusion, when you now visit a different country’s reward center, you will see limited selection of rewards.

All of these front end changes are also coming in hand with a number of system and process changes in the background. Many of these are based on the feedback from LEGO VIP members and their interactions with the LEGO VIP Reward Center. This update importantly will allow the LEGO VIP team to start working on the next part of their roadmap for the LEGO VIP Reward Center. Further details will follow about this.

The LEGO VIP team really appreciates getting feedback from the community, so if you have any thoughts and comments on the refresh, or if you run into any issues, feel free to share them in the comment section below, and I will forward them on your behalf.

This is just my humble opinion, but just bring back the old system and be done with it. It worked and it was simple. That’s all I have to say about that.

I agree. I miss the old system, and I could easily use it every time I went to the Lego store, even when my visit was unplanned. It was simple and it worked well.

Considering this covid-19 virus spiking every so often and people find it easier to shop at home. It only make sense. That Online shopping should become easier than to become difficult for the customers. I think Lego realizes this that most of their stores ( particularly here in North America) are not going to be opening anytime soon. 😷

There was some 2x VIP point drive on now in EU and the UK, I saw.

Only online and not in the open shops, though, so I got cold feet when I actually have a store on biking distance.

Still not as good as the old system, but I appreciate they are making the effort and listen to feedback.

Thanks for the update. Like others, I’m not a fan of the new system. And do they ever announce the raffle winners. Withouth an announcement, it seems suspicious.

    Sing-in? How does that work?

It sounds like it’s just whistling dixie…

My biggest problem with the way VIP points work now is that it separates out whether you redeem points to use in store vs. online. Why does this even matter? Twice I have tried to redeem points for $s to spend online and the website has loaded something else which made the page jump down just as I clicked, so I redeemed for in store points instead of online points. I was able to have them give me back my points after I called them (which is great since it was my mistake), but the hold times to call them are so long now, that both times I missed using them for the thing I was trying to pre-order. It’s so frustrating!

Yes, many people complain about this. And there is still no official answer why this is done this way. But now that you reminded me, I’m going to inquire again.

Thanks! I have also complained directly to them, so maybe if enough complain they will change it? I can dream. 🙂

Yeah, that’s what they are saying. The more people call and complain, the better. But I know right now they have really long wait times, so not everyone will have the patience.
