LEGO Summer Sets Available on August 24th

Great news for LEGO fans in North America who have been waiting for the delayed summer sets! As we discussed previously, these sets have been available in Europe for a couple of months now, and now we can get them too! Even better news is that most of these sets will be available on Monday, August 24th, which means that you can avoid the the mad rush and crashes at the Online LEGO Shop that happens at the beginning of every month. Below, I wrote up a summary of what’s new.

LEGO ARCHITECTURE SUMMER SET: The #21054 LEGO Architecture White House is available on August 24th. This is the only new LEGO Architecture set. Visit the LEGO Architecture section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO ART MOSAICS SUMMER SETS: The LEGO Marvel Studios Iron Man – 3-in-1 Collectible Wall Art Building Kit has been available for some time now, but on August 24th you can purchase the three other mosaics as well. This includes the #31197 LEGO Art Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe – 4-in-1 Collectible Wall Art Building Kit, the #31198 LEGO Art The Beatles – 4-in-1 Collectible Wall Art Building Kit, and the #31200 LEGO Art Star Wars The Sith – 3-in-1 Collectible Wall Art Building Kit. They are all available at the LEGO Art section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO BATMAN SUMMER SETS: The three new LEGO Batman sets are still showing up as coming soon with no specific release date. I expect that these will be available in September. You can check them out at the LEGO Batman section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO CITY SUMMER SETS: There are several new LEGO City summer sets that are available on August 24th. This includes all the new LEGO City Ocean Exploration sets (including the huge #60266 LEGO City Ocean Exploration Ship!), and several LEGO City Airport sets. Another interesting new set is the #60260 LEGO City Air Race with a couple of small ripcord-operated helicopters that can actually fly, and a small plane. The much talked about #60271 LEGO City Main Square that’s based on the LEGO City Adventures TV show and the #60268 LEGO City Advent Calendar won’t be available until September 1st. You can find all the new sets at the LEGO City section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO CREATOR 3-in-1 SUMMER SETS: Three new LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets available on August 24th; the #31107 LEGO Creator Space Rover Explorer, the #31108 LEGO Creator Caravan Family Holiday, and the #31109 LEGO Creator Pirate Ship. All three sets come with three alternate builds, and are highly praised by those who already had the chance to build them. They are available at the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO DISNEY SUMMER SETS: From the three new LEGO Disney sets, the #43180 LEGO Disney Belle’s Castle Winter Celebration is available on August 24th. The other two sets, the #43187 LEGO Disney Rapunzel’s Tower, and the #43188 LEGO Disney Aurora’s Forest Cottage won’t be available until September 1st. Check them out at the LEGO Disney section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO FRIENDS SUMMER SETS: All the regular LEGO Friends summer sets are available on August 24th. This includes the #41398 LEGO Friends Stephanie’s House (this is a 4+ set with printed pieces only – no sticker), the #41427 LEGO Friends Emma’s Fashion Shop, the #41428 LEGO Friends Beach House, the very cool #41429 LEGO Friends Heartlake City Airplane, the huge #41430 LEGO Friends Summer Fun Water Park, the #41433 LEGO Friends Party Boat, and several nice smaller sets as well. The #41420 LEGO Friends Advent Calendar will be available on September 1st. You can find them all at the LEGO Friends section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO HARRY POTTER SUMMER SETS: Most of the new LEGO Harry Potter sets are available on August 24th. This includes the #75966 LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Room of Requirements, the #75967 LEGO Harry Potter Forbidden Forest: Umbridge’s Encounter, the #75968 LEGO Harry Potter 4 Privet Drive, and the #75969 LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Astronomy Tower. The #75979 LEGO Harry Potter Hedwig buildable figure, and the #75980 LEGO Harry Potter Attack on the Burrow are still listed as coming soon with no specific release date, but they are still expected to be available on September 1st. You can find the full selection at the LEGO Harry Potter section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO HIDDEN SIDE SUMMER SETS: All five of the new LEGO Hidden Side sets are available on August 24th. The #70435 LEGO Hidden Side Newbury Abandoned Prison, the #70436 LEGO Hidden Side Phantom Fire Truck 3000, and the #70437 LEGO Hidden Side Mystery Castle are particularly interesting. You can take a look at the LEGO Hidden Side section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO IRON MAN SUMMER SET: There is only one new LEGO Iron Man set available on August 24th, but it’s a pretty good one. The #76167 LEGO Iron Man Armory includes two Iron Man figures, a couple of badguys, a sweet hotrod, and a section of the armory that could be expanded for more Iron Man Suits. Available at the LEGO Marvel section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO MONKIE KID SUMMER SETS: All three of the new LEGO Monkie Kid sets are available on August 24th. This includes the #80014 LEGO Monkie Kid Sandy’s Speedboat, the #80015 LEGO Monkie Kid’s Cloud Roadster, and the large #80016 LEGO Monkie Kid Flaming Foundry. Available at the LEGO Monkie Kid section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO NINJAGO SUMMER SETS: All the new LEGO Ninjago sets are still listed as coming soon with no specific release date. I don’t know what to think, as they had this status for a long time, but I hope they will be available in September. You can check them out at the LEGO Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO STAR WARS SUMMER SETS: All the new LEGO Star Wars sets are available on August 24th, the only exception being the #75279 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar, which will be available on September 1st. This is a quite large list, so I won’t list them all, but some of the highlights include the #75284 LEGO Star Wars Knights of Ren Transport Ship, the #75288 LEGO Star Wars AT-AT, the #75291 LEGO Star Wars Death Star Final Duel, the #75293 LEGO Star Wars Resistance I-TS Transport, and the #75294 LEGO Star Wars Bespin Duel that supposed to be a Comic-Con exclusive. You can find all the new sets at the LEGO Star Wars section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO TECHNIC SUMMER SETS: The #42107 LEGO Technic Ducati Panigale V4 R is still listed as coming soon with no specific release date, but the #42112 LEGO Technic Concrete Mixer Truck and the #42114 LEGO Technic Volvo Articulated Hauler are available on August 24th at the LEGO Technic section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO TROLLS SUMMER SET: There is a new, colorful, and quite large LEGO Trolls set available on August 24th; the #41258 LEGO Trolls Vibe City Concert. LEGO Trolls sets seem quite psychedelic, but they are full of interesting parts. Check them out at the LEGO Trolls section of the Online LEGO Shop.

And that should cover everything. Again, if you want to avoid the rush that will happen at the beginning of September and the high risk of many sets going on backorder or out of stock, it’s best to place an order for these new sets ahead of time. What do you think? Are you getting any of the new sets? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

Finally! Does anyone have the creator pirate ship yet? How is it?

    • Håkan August 22, 2020, 10:56 AM

I’ve seen that there are several online reviews, in case you’d be interested…

Ok the bespin duel is a ” got to have it” set. For one thing , it’s San Diego Comic-Con exclusive and I’ve never or ever will get to that comic -con. For the second thing , it’s a iconic scene and most important scene in the movie franchise. Now it’s more of a display piece. Of which I’m kind of sad because Lego meant to be played with. Yes, I’ll be first to admit but I a young adult play with Lego sets. Oh, my guilty pleasures. Lol!😎

When will the “Grand Piano 21323” be available in the US?
    Thanks

Linda, it has been available, but it is currently out of stock due to high demand. Keep checking the website for availability.

Oh, thanks! I have been waiting for some of these!

  • Nofakebricks August 22, 2020, 8:45 PM

Gosh, we have been waiting for these forever! Europe had them like what? Two months ago? Anyway, all three of the Creator sets are cool, and I like the big City ship.

I’m so tempted to get either the Iron Man or the Star Wars mosaic. But it’s so expensive, especially for those of us who want to get three to build the combo picture. Sigh….

I’d guess that the preponed* date mainly would prepone the mad rush and crash, though.

*(After googling, I decided to borrow the word from those crazy Indians.)

    • Thita (admin) August 23, 2020, 4:53 PM

I was just about to ask what was prepone, then I saw your footnote. Haha. Now I have to use it too! 😀

It’s to bad that the hidden side theme changed from their haunting of ghosts. Instead, we get a character that’s cross between Lord Voldemort and Sauron. As well as his followers ringwraiths or Death Eaters. Lego should have kept the theme with ghosts or at least did this theme first then last.🤔

    • Håkan August 23, 2020, 10:21 PM

I think he’s based on Slenderman from the CreepyPasta lore…

Also, I heard Hidden Side was ending, so Lego might be building up (no pun intended) for a grande finale…

      • Thita (admin) August 24, 2020, 10:26 AM

Yes! Slenderman! I immediately thought of that too! I also heard Hidden Side was ending, but then I also heard it might not. So, it could go either way. 🙄

    • Thita (admin) August 24, 2020, 10:26 AM

I noticed the changes as well, and wasn’t sure what to think about it. I agree that the ghost hunting was more fun and innocent. It also gave us some really fun pieces.

No Speed Champions sets? Is that line dead?

    • Thita (admin) August 24, 2020, 10:24 AM

Kelly, new Speed Champions sets are always released at the beginning of the year. Usually January. 🙂

  • Legostuff14 August 24, 2020, 10:48 AM

Anyways, I just love the mystery castle( and yes I did order it. Along with a couple other things). Lego is still the best at making castles. It will go great with my vampire castle from monster fighters. Yet another theme that canceled too early.
