LEGO Ford Mustang – Awesome Alternate Instructions

The #10265 LEGO Creator Ford Mustang is considered one of the best cars LEGO ever released. It’s an authentic replica of the iconic 1960s muscle car, featuring dark-blue bodywork with white racing stripes, air scoop, 5-spoke rims with road-gripping tires, and a selection of customization add-ons. It’s the first LEGO Creator model car with working steering. Other features include opening doors, removable roof panel to access the detailed interior, opening trunk to store items, adjustable rear axle for a real mean look, and you can lift the hood to reveal a detailed V8 engine with battery, hoses, and air filter. As far as the customization add-ons, you can choose from a selection of license plates, add a supercharger, rear ducktail spoiler, beefy exhaust pipes, front chin spoiler, and a nitrous oxide tank. The car measures just about 3” (10cm) high, 13” (34cm) long and 5” (14cm) wide, comes with 975 pieces, and available at the Online LEGO Shop for $150.

This set is a real beauty already with plenty of customization options right out of the box. However, if you want to do even more with it, there are alternate instructions available as well. My favorite is a 3-in-1 bundle by LEGO fan Firas Abu-Jaber, with a modern car, muscle car, and classic truck option (the instructions could also be purchased separately.

Each of the alternate models only uses parts from the original set, so you won’t need anything else. They are the same scale as the original Mustang, so if you have two or more sets, you can display the different alternatives side-by-side. The step-by-step building instructions are available in PDF format and you can purchase them directly from Firas’ website at BricksGarage.com, or you can also get them from his page at Rebrickable.com. (I also recommend checking out Firas’ other car models as they are really awesome.)

Please note that although these are my favorite conversions, there are several others that you may want to check out. If you search Rebrickable.com for #10265, you will find all types of alternate models for the set, including low-rider, roadster, pickup truck, monster truck, race truck, three-wheeler, F1 race car, hotrod, buggy, and more. The set has also been turned into cars from other brands like Fiat, Citroen, Porsche, Lamborghini, and even the Cybertruck!

And there are also instructions to use the parts from the Mustang to build a helicopter, bomber, a Landspeeder, A-wing Starfighter, and X-wing Starfighter. Some of the building instructions are available for free, while others cost a few dollars. Again, you can find them at Rebrickable.com and using the search box for alternate models for the #10265 LEGO Creator Ford Mustang (typing in 10265 is enough to get the results).

The original set itself, the #10265 LEGO Creator Ford Mustang, was released last year and it is still available (along with several other awesome car models) at the LEGO Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? Do you have the LEGO Creator Ford Mustang? How do you like it? And what do you think of these alternate models? Are you planning to build any of them? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

Wow. These are sweet! And I like you don’t need extra parts to build them. They should do these for more sets.

I’ve never been super into cars, but that classic truck is beautiful. If I were to ever get a LEGO car set…it would be this one!

I haven’t seen these before, so thanks for this. I should pay more attention to Rebrickable.

These are great. Like others said, I especially like the first three, plus the cybertruck. I don’t want to take apart the original, but I might consider getting a second set to build one of these

Some of these look really great. Are these as good as Lego designs?
