LEGO Teasing Big Announcement Coming Soon!

This past weekend, LEGO started teasing fans about something new coming at the end of June. All they have shared is the following…

LEGO fan sites, forums, and social media pages are abuzz with speculations about what this might mean. Is it a new lighting system? Is LEGO Dimensions coming back? Are we getting a second set based on Stranger Things? Or the first TRON movie? Or is this referencing more LEGO VIDIYO set? How about a new LEGO game? Or a new way to combine physical and digital play?

What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!

Seems that you’ve posted about all of the main theories. However, I think that you should post a direct link to the tweet in question, as well.

hmm yes so lego shrek is no longer a distant fantasy

It’s linked from the image, if that’s what you’re looking for. As far as what it is, I hope it’s not more vidiyo!! 🤣

I don’t get any link by clicking on the image. I’m using Bing.

As mentioned by Tanner, the image should link you to the announcement on Twitter. However, since I added the link shortly after publication, it’s possible that you accessed the site right in between those two times and thus could not access the link. Anyway, check it again, if you like. It should be working. It’s fun to read all the speculations. 😀

Ah, yeah, now it works. Thanks.

I have a Netflix account now, so I guess I should get around to watch Stranger Things soon…

I think it’s Stranger Things. Although I hope it’s a new light system.

    • brickmaster May 31, 2021, 3:02 PM

And you light system would be amazing. But if Lego makes it it will be also extremely expensive.

I can’t even speculate what this is. Probably a video game? I’m basing this on the glow of the brick, but again, I’m shooting in the dark here. 😀

I read about the Lego Dimensions theory. It’s interesting, but I don’t think it’s true. As far as I know, the game didn’t do as well as they expected and toys to life sets were already dying down. Stranger Things or Vidiyo makes the most sense.

It’s going to be an Ultimate Collector Series Vidiyo set with huge brickbuilt Llama dude. 😀

Nobody mentioned it yet, but it kind of looks like the colors of the Everyone is Awesome set. Maybe they are making a bigger set celebrating the LGBTQ community?

Maybe it’s something brand new. And maybe it’s not even a set. My bet is some kind of an online game or video series.

The blurry resolution and deliberate glitches seem to point to a nostalgic 80’s throwback, though, such as Stranger Things or Tron…

      • Nathan18 June 1, 2021, 7:40 AM

I know a lot of people say that. And it’s certainly possible. I would really like to get a big Tron set, and I think the Stranger Things set was already rumored.

  • Håkan June 1, 2021, 7:37 AM

    Apparently it’s revealed already.

Some kind of online convention, from the looks of it.

Well,,, I was expecting something a little more exciting. So just a convention. Got it.

      • Nathan18 June 1, 2021, 7:53 AM

Reading the announcement, this doesn’t sound bad. Not what most of us were expecting, but it seems like a cool event. Thanks for the links!

Oh, good! I thought we gonna have to speculate for an entire month! That would have been exhausting! LOL!! 😀

  • Ray June 1, 2021, 3:10 PM

“It’s on” is a stupid, worthless hint, which I take to mean it’s some completely underwhelming surprise that nobody’s really going to be excited about except the specific handful of people within Lego Group that are in charge of it.

The “online convention” rumor fits that description well.
