As much as I love the Harry Potter sets . I’d decided to pass this time around. Partly because I wasn’t happy with the way some of the sets were made except for of course hogsmeade now that’s a cool set. I felt that the potion mistake in the bathroom scene from Chamber of Secrets didn’t have Moaning Myrtle in it. I thought they should have put her in that set. The Chamber of Secrets set looks like another version of Hogwarts but in smaller scale. Maybe Lego should have focused on more of the Chamber of Secrets on its own and made a bigger and not so full of stickers set instead ? As for the other set , i didn’t like fluffy because it was a built up version of him. I did per- order the Fawkes , Dumbledore’s Phoenix set. I couldn’t pass up on that one. So, all in all . I’m waiting patiently for the August first sets to come out. Also I’m playing catch up on the Ninjago Islanders sets. Yes, I am planning to get the Ninjago underwater sets. Oh and I do like the city Safari animal rescue sets to. I mean come on now you’re going to be getting elephants. That’s great!

The Ninjago underwater sets are the ones I’m looking forward to the most. I wonder why they are delaying the US release.

Firstly, I’m not sure if the Mexican factory is up and running yet, so the US distribution might still not be up to snuff.

Secondly, Lego has pretty much always planned their schedules for the American and European markets separately, so it’s nothing usual that one or the other markets would get some themes a few months ahead of another.

(With the rise of the Internet and the global Lego fandom, the general awareness of the situation among Lego builders has increased, however.)

A lot of cool hairpieces up on Bricks and Pieces, so I placed an order. although they’d still take 1-2 months to be delivered…

Otherwise, I’m still considering buying 76178 Daily Bugle, 40516 Everyone is Awesome and 76188 Classic Batmobile, but I’m waiting for a 2xVIP points drive.

I might buy 41935 Lots of DOTS anyway. It’s priced decently enough that I might not need bothering with VIP points…

I also heard that a couple of new monkey kid sets are coming out on July first. Are the monkey kid sets still popular or have they lost their momentum? I think Ninjago surpasses the Monkey Kid sets any day. Those two themes can also work together.

It seems that it was initially meant to be a China-only release, but after the backlash, Lego decided to make it a limited release internationally, as well. I don’t think the distribution of Monkie Kid has ever been as wide as the long-running Ninjago…

I like the idea of a smaller Taj, but those droid arms really ruin it for me. I like the rest of the construction, but not those arms. I wonder what else could be used for the smaller towers.

    • Håkan June 2, 2021, 7:13 AM

Hmm, the towers actually look quite a bit bigger in real life than on the model, I think. I wonder if 2×2 round bricks would look too large… Or white minifig heads?

I’m debating if I should get the map. I like it, but I don’t like the colors. They are too washed out. Opinions?

    • :) June 2, 2021, 9:53 AM

I’m pretty sure it comes with a good amount of extra parts maybe enough to change the color scheme

      • Håkan June 2, 2021, 12:36 PM

Not really, I’d say. The extra parts are just extras of the same pieces required for the build, and it’s still the same regular parts that’s responsible for the main pastel scheme. Despite being the Largest Lego Set Ever. (A lot of the parts included are 1×1 plates and tiles, so your mileage may vary) it only contains 32 different parts in total…

          oh. thanks for the info

    • Ian June 3, 2021, 8:28 AM

What you really need are the bases. I would compare how much they cost on bricklink and at the pick a brick. It may still be worth getting the set if you can use at least some of the colors, and then get more dots on your own in the colors you want. I would love to see the oceans made with transparent pieces and some terrain for the continents. I hope someone makes it.
