LEGO Halloween Decoration Ideas

Happy Halloween! A favorite pastime of LEGO fans is to create fun Halloween decorations or to modify their displays with Halloween spookiness. Below, I will show you some of my favorites from the Fans of LEGO Halloween Village Facebook Group. If you still need some ideas for your own decorations, they might give you some inspiration.

One of the easiest and quickest ways to get ready for Halloween is to add Halloween decorations to your current LEGO displays. This could be as simple as adding pumpkins, spider webs, and costumed minifigs trick-or-treating in your LEGO city. The image below is by LEGO fan Trevor Pearson-Jones.

If you have any of the LEGO Monster Fighters, LEGO Hidden Side, LEGO Ghostbusters, or one of the large LEGO Haunted Houses, those are also excellent candidates to become Halloween decorations. The images below (in order of appearance) are by Debs Craven, Denise Vezina, Mark Hutchins, Ailsa Frame, KR Campbell, Tommy Hazleton, and Trevor Perason-Jones.

And how about adding Halloween decorations to the LEGO Disney Castle? All you need is pumpkins, spider webs, skeletons, and some spooky looking minifigs! The image below is by Joanne Snowball.

Another way to enhance your Halloween creations is by adding painted/printed backgrounds, and lights. You can see some examples of painted/printed backgrounds above, and below is a great example of using lights by Charlotte Andrews.

Many of the LEGO Halloween displays above are quite large, but you can also create smaller Halloween-themed decorations to add some fun. Minifigs, and smaller official and custom LEGO displays are great for this. The images below are by LEGO fan Ailsa Frame.

And how about this Halloween-themed wreath below by Chris Sifra? It is based on the #40426 LEGO Christmas Wreath 2-i-1 set released last year that’s still available at the Online LEGO Shop.

You can find these, and many other inspirational LEGO projects for Halloween at the Fans of LEGO Halloween Village Facebook Group, so check them out if you’re interested! What do you think? Are you planning to create any LEGO-themed decorations or activities for Halloween? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

Those are awesome! But what about the very first picture? The one that looks like a Halloween version of the winter village?

Oh, I love these! Thanks for posting! We have the Disney castle but I haven’t thought of decorating it. And I also love the painted backgrounds. Guess what we will do today? !

The Halloween Wreath is a great idea! I might have to do that one. I like how they did the skulls.

These are too good! I had no idea there were so many Halloween type sets and that people are so into them. And thanks for the FB link! I joined the group. There is a similar group for the Christmas village sets too.

All I did was put Dracula and family in front of the haunted house from Monster Fighters. Kind a of like a family portrait. Dracula with his wife . Brother and sister ( the two kids are from the mystery minifigure bags. Girl with teddy bear in a black and gray outfit. The boy also in a black and gray outfit with book of spooky stories.). Along with Frankenstein, Wolfman and two brown bats hanging upside down. All in front of the haunted house. Happy Halloween everyone🎃👻.

Ahhh, haha! What a lovely family! 😀

Heh, sounds somewhat like the Addams’ or the Munsters, or the Groovie Goolies.

        Classic.

Hmm, I see that there’s a Playmobil Ghost visiting one of the layouts. I should still have a similar old one since my childhood in a box somewhere.

And I like the layout where the Scooby Gang meet up with their zombie counterparts…

I have some Playmobil ghosts too. They are the best! 😀

I remember that they could glow in the dark, years before Lego’s version!

        • Thita (admin) October 31, 2021, 10:48 AM

Yep! Playmobil actually does a lot of things that LEGO is late on. But the brand is not as well known in the U.S. as it is in Europe.

Happy Halloween you guys! Hope your night is full of HORROR! Lol! I updated my city with lights and put out some costumed minifigs. But that’s about it.

Ready for ghost, goblins, and evil pumpkins! Bring it on! I’m not doing anything lego, but getting dressed up to meet up with friends, make a bonfire, and roast some marshmallows and other goodies.

I didn’t know my display was on here. 😊

Hey, Debs, nice to have you over! Yes, of course! It’s an awesome display! 🙂
