LEGO Fairground Series Loop Coaster Coming!

Today, the LEGO Group has revealed the spectacular new #10303 LEGO Loop Coaster set. Not for the faint-hearted, the new set is a staggering 92cm tall – making it one of the tallest LEGO sets.

Inspired by some of the world’s most thrilling rides, the Loop Coaster is an immersive build filled with twists and turns. Exciting features will be uncovered along with the build, including an innovative elevator tower for raising the car up to the top of the ride and two gravity-defying loops. Builders can also power up the ride with motorized components, which are available separately, which will raise the elevator up automatically.

Guaranteed to generate a crowd, this playful set also contains eleven minifigures, including a ride operator, balloon seller, pretzel seller, hot-dog seller, a grandma, a young boy, and five rollercoaster riders. The set comes with 3,756 pieces and the finished model is 36 in. (92 cm) high, 33.5 in. (85 cm) wide, and 13.5 in. (34 cm) deep.

Commenting on the set, LEGO Designer Pierre Normandin says: “When we were designing this set, we wanted to recreate the feeling experienced when it just begins to tip over the highest point. Perfect for play or display, we are excited to add this set to the LEGO Fairground Collection.”

The #10303 LEGO Loop Coaster set is going to be available at official LEGO stores and the Online LEGO Shop from the 1st of July. Prices are as follows: 399.99 EUR/ 599.99 AUD/ 344.99 GBP/ 399.99 USD/ 499.99 CAD. For more information, visit the LEGO Creator Expert section of the Online LEGO Shop.

I don’t like the colors, but the rest is fine.

For that price, they should have included the motor.

    Initial impression…

Is that hairpiece Bright Red or Dark Red? I might snag that and the jeans jacket torso separately…

The hair looks red to me. I don’t think I will get this set, it looks too industrial to me and less fun than the other fairground sets.

Now I realize that the red spiked hairpiece first appeared in the 40516 Everyone Is Awesome set, so I should have some hairpieces already, both from the set itself, and from separate Bricks And Pieces purchases. (Unsure on if it could still be bought from BAP after the revamp of the system…)

Good notice! That red hairpiece reminds me of the cute red hair with pigtails from the early days of LEGO. They need to bring that piece back. 🙂

Ah, yeah, the Pippi Longstocking hairdo!

(Although I actually like the modern pigtail hairpieces better…)

I want a white pigtail piece, though. I think I’ve only seen an actual part once, and now it costs quite a bunch on Bricklink..

Apparently, some old set photography when the Lego minifigure was new contains a modified, cut pigtail piece, rather than the actual male hairpiece that was planned, but not yet produced. Kind of interesting..
