LEGO Holiday Main Street Video-Review & Ideas!

The #10308 LEGO Holiday Main Street set, the latest in the LEGO Winter Village series, has been received by the LEGO fan community with great enthusiasm. The two buildings with shops and apartments provide templates for other structures for a larger layout, and the trolley car is adorable and ready for added LEGO Power Functions.

I know many of our readers are interested in adding this set to their LEGO Winter Village, LEGO City, or LEGO Modular Buildings layout, and even motorizing the trolley car for some added action. In the video below, JANGBRiCKS will show you the #10308 LEGO Holiday Main Street set in detail, and also makes some suggestions for some customization options.

As far as ideas for integrating the buildings into your layout, I highly recommend checking out the Friends of LEGO Winter Village Facebook Group. It’s a very active group with over 11k members sharing beautiful and creative layouts and customization ideas. Below are a few recently posted examples by Bryan David (first two pictures), Nick McColloch (middle pictures), and Kristi Skae Zansitis (last picture).

You can also find modified and completely custom LEGO Winter Village creations at Rebrickable.com with downloadable instructions. Below are a couple of examples of how the buildings from the Main Street set could be turned into Modular Buildings (by Brick Artisan), as well as links to some other LEGO Winter Village-themed projects.

And also remember the Expanding the LEGO Winter Village book collection by Charles Pritchett with full instructions for all the projects We talked about this series here and links to Amazon listings are below. And there is also another book series with instructions called Build Up Your LEGO Winter Village by David Younger, which we talked about here and are also available on Amazon.

The new #10308 LEGO Holiday Main Street set, as well as the #10275 LEGO Winter Village Elf Clubhouse and the #10293 LEGO Winter Village Santa’s Visit from the past couple of years, are all available at the Seasonal Items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the new LEGO Winter Village set? Are you planning to add it to your collection? Do you set up your own LEGO Winter Village for the holidays? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below!

That street view is amazing. I love it. And I really like the modular conversions too. Thanks for posting these ideas! I will have a lot to look through.

I love these so much! What is the dark tan building with the steep roof next to the music store? Is that a kit or custom? I would love to build that!

That’s from the Harry Potter Hogsmeade Village set. The set number is 76388.

Those shorter buildings next to the train tracks look great. I may even like them better than the full modulars. They take up less space, less money, and still look good. And they are making similar sets in other themes too. Like the HP sets, Sesame Street, and the Creator 3-in-1 buildings. Is there some I’m forgetting?

The 10308 set is awesome. I have been wanting to buy a bunch of these so I can decorate for Christmas with them, but instead I keep getting more Technic trucks haha

I love to see the villages people build! Initially, I wasn’t sure about the new Winter Village set. It’s so different than the previous ones. But now I see them as buildings in a separate place. A winter town instead of a winter village.
