You might remember that back in February, the LEGO Group and Netflix announced a new collaboration for LEGO products based on Netflix’s most popular movie, KPop Demon Hunters (see links at the end of this post). The collaboration aims to unite the super popular KPop Demon Hunters universe with the world of creative LEGO brick building. The first set in the collection is revealed today, with more to come next year!
In case you’re not familiar with the show, KPop Demon Hunters follows K-pop superstars HUNTR/X, who, when they aren’t selling out stadiums, use their secret identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet – an irresistible rival boy band, Saja Boys, who are demons in disguise. KPop Demon Hunters is streaming exclusively on Netflix and has reached more than 500 million views since it debuted last June, fueled by global fans’ love of the characters, music, and celebration of Korean culture. Among many other accolades, awards, and record-breaking achievements, the music of the film continues to make history with HUNTR/X being the first K-pop girl group to reach #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and “Golden” being one of the first songs by K-pop artists to be nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards.
As far as the first LEGO set related to the film, the #72537 LEGO Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set brings a beloved pair of characters to life so fans can recreate memorable scenes from the movie!
You can choose from two expressions to show off the tiger’s goofy grin or let him deliver a sweet love note on his tongue. Pose the duo using their movable features, then pop the magpie on the tiger’s head for a true bird’s-eye view. The set includes two love notes and a flowerpot for the tiger to knock over. When playtime is over, you can store the accessories in the secret compartment in Derpy’s head.
The set is recommended for kids as young as nine, but it can be enjoyed by any fan who watches the KPop Demon Hunters movie on repeat. The set contains 825 pieces, so it’s not too small or too big, and the same can be said about the price at 69.99 USD / 59.99 EUR / 69.99 GBP. Available starting on August 1st at the Online LEGO Shop.

I don’t understand why this show is so popular, but that’s an adorably chunky kitty. My niece will love it. Haha. 🐱
Are the decorated pieces stickers or prints? I can’t make it out.
I read on another forum that they are printed.
It looks like Lego wants to have its tentacles in every IP. I suppose they are doing this to keep any competitors getting the upper hand.
It’s super popular among people aged somewhere between 10 and 30, though…
