While July is a quieter month in terms of new releases, there are several new LEGO sets for teen and adult LEGO fans that are worth considering.
The #11374 LEGO Icons Arcade Pinball Machine is now available! This highly anticipated set features a working pinball machine with a spring-powered launcher, dual flippers, spinning bumpers, and an up-and-over ramp bridge. You can hit the asteroid target to reunite the astronaut with the space-roving baby, then reset the progress bar and play again! The latest in the LEGO Marvel Bust Collection is the #76356 LEGO Marvel Venom Bust. The bust incorporates a decorative nameplate built into the pedestal with an option to display the Venom minifigure alongside the completed model. Set contains 413 pieces. Price: $49.99. Star Wars fans get the #75459 LEGO Star Wars Imperial Lambda-Class Shuttle, as seen on Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 2. The starship is packed with authentic features to inspire action play. Fold down the wings for flight and to activate two spring-loaded shooters. Deploy the landing gear, lower the wings, and exit ramp on landing. Role-play stories with 5 characters, including the first LEGO minifigure of Dr. Pershing. Flip open the cockpit and place the Imperial Shuttle Pilot inside. Venom looks creepy, but I guess that’s the idea. Haha. I plan to get the pinball machine at some point.
I really like the pinball machine, but I wish they added those smart bricks for light and sound!
Light and Sound would add a lot, but the Smart Bricks seem to function to poorly for them to be implemented here.
I guess pinball is just difficult to construct properly, purely with Lego bricks. It probably needs a stable metal skeleton with proper electronics and motherboard and an external Lego cover to work as intended.
I’ll snag the Light Blue helmet when it starts to get cheaper, though…
Yeah, not adding light and sound was a missed opportunity. There is another brick brand that has done it already with a similar pinball machine.
How did they implement it, technically?

The long and short of it is that it’s kind of gimmicky and obviously not LEGO quality. But it does have light and sound.
Nothing that’s new for July appeals to me, but…
There are many great new city sets from last month that I didn’t get to buy (after spending $7-800 on all the Lego sales.)
Anybody know when the next GWP is coming? I think I need to hold my orders until then (unless I find sales someplace else.)
