LEGO released a couple of sets featuring Shrek, everyone’s favorite green ogre. The #72423 LEGO Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots features brick-built versions of Shrek and Donkey, plus a minifigure of Puss in Boots, all standing on a swamp base, complete with the classic Beware Ogre! sign, sunflowers, an onion and a blue flower with red thorns. This is a delightful set for collectors and makes a fun and colorful display.
There is also the #40923 LEGO BrickHeadz Shrek, Donkey & Gingy Figures, a small set with squared-up versions of the characters.
And as a wonderful surprise, a couple of days ago LEGO revealed that they are planning to release a LEGO Collectible Minifigures Shrek Series this fall! As usual for Collectible Minifigures, the series will include one of 12 random characters per pack: Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Pinocchio, Gingy, Dragon, Puss in Boots, Thelonious, Big Bad Wolf, Merlin, Lord Farquaad, Fairy Godmother, or Prince Charming. Each minifigure comes in a sealed mystery box, and most include at least one themed accessory. They will be available starting September 1st for $4.99 each at the LEGO Minifigures section of the Online LEGO Shop.
