New LEGO X-Files & LEGO Star Trek Sets Coming!

In the last couple of days, LEGO revealed two new sets that I know many LEGO fans are excited about. Let’s take a look!

Yesterday, the LEGO Group, in collaboration with Disney Entertainment, unveiled the #21369 LEGO Ideas The X-Files set, a 1,478-piece model that invites adult fans to celebrate the iconic ‘90s sci-fi drama. The set recreates iconic moments from the series, centered on a detailed build of Fox Mulder’s office, paired with a forest clearing scene and a hovering UFO. The set also includes 8 minifigures: Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, Walter Skinner, Mr. X, Alex Krycek, Carl Busch, The Flukeman and a gray alien, allowing fans to recreate key investigations and encounters.

The build is rich in authentic detail, including the “The Truth is Out There” tile, an “I Want to Believe” poster, an X-Files dossier, a nod to his sunflower seed habit, and pencils in the ceiling of Mulder’s office. The set also offers versatile display options. The forest diorama can be showcased on its own, while Mulder’s office can be opened or partially disassembled to reveal interior details. The UFO is mounted on a transparent stand, creating the illusion that it is hovering above the forest, but it can also be removed for alternative display arrangements, as a striking dual-display presentation.

The LEGO Ideas The X-Files set was submitted as part of the LEGO Ideas ’90s Nostalgia Challenge by Brisbane-based 3D Artist and Fan Designer Brent Waller (LEGO Ideas name: wetwired). LEGO Ideas invites fans to submit product ideas, which are then voted on by the community before being considered for production as official LEGO sets.

Brent Waller comments: “I was obsessed with The X-Files from the moment I first saw it in the ’90s. I originally built Mulder’s office back in 2014 while rewatching the series, and it grew from there as a personal project. I wanted to combine nostalgia, detail, and storytelling to capture the atmosphere of the show – from Mulder’s office to the forest and UFO encounter. I’m thrilled to see it become an official LEGO set and hope it resonates with both long-time fans and new audiences.”

The #21369 LEGO Ideas The X-Files set will be available for LEGO Insiders from the 1st of August and for all from the 4th of August. Prices are as follows: £179.99 / €199.99 / $199.99. Additionally, shoppers who purchase the set between the 1st and 10th of August will receive the #40896 LEGO Ideas The X-Files: Scully’s Lab as a freebie. The set recreates authentic details of the classroom lab at the FBI National Academy and adds the minifigure of Dana Scully in her lab coat and scrubs. This morning, the LEGO Group, in partnership with Paramount Products & Experiences, unveiled the #11385 LEGO Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge, a 1,701-piece building set for adult fans. The model recreates two of the most recognizable locations from the original series Star Trek – the bridge and transporter room of the U.S.S. Enterprise.

Following the debut of the first ever LEGO Star Trek set, which recreated the iconic exterior of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D from Star Trek: The Next Generation, the highly-anticipated new LEGO Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge allows fans to step inside the legendary starship from the original series for the very first time in LEGO form, with an impressive level of detail, interactive features and an all-star Starfleet crew.

The model focuses on the ship’s iconic bridge and transporter room, featuring computer stations, a viewscreen displaying a Klingon warrior, and a transporter platform for crew deployment. Once completed, the modular sections can be arranged into a display configuration.

Several interactive features that recreate familiar on-screen moments are included. Builders can rock the captain’s chair to simulate ship turbulence and battle sequences, turn a dial to activate the transporter and move crew between pads, and use a lever to open the turbo lift doors.

Eight brand-new minifigures represent the Starfleet crew: James T. Kirk, Spock, Nyota Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, Pavel Chekov, Christine Chapel, and Montgomery “Scotty” Scott. It also includes four tribbles – the iconic, fluffy alien characters from Star Trek – along with accessories such as two Starfleet communicators, four phasers, Spock’s harp, two Vulcan Lirpa, and a Trident Scanner. The Starfleet communicators are represented by a decorated 1×2 tile, while the phaser is an all-new LEGO element.

The #11385 LEGO Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge is now available for pre-order, and for immediate purchase from the 1st of September. Prices are as follows: £159.99 / €179.99 / $199.99. The release date forms part of the celebrations marking Star Trek’s 60th anniversary month.
