While some LEGO-fans enjoy the LEGO Ninjago building sets for others playing the Spinjitzu game with the Ninjago spinners and collecting the Ninjago spinner-cards is the real fun part! (If you are not familiar with the Ninjago cards and how they work, below is a great introductory video.)
Personally, I love the Ninjago character-cards! In fact, I sometimes write down a list of the cards I plan on getting, and try to figure out my best and srtongest character from that. Believe me; it’s not an easy task! You can go to the LEGO Ninjago website to see the all the cards to find the ones you like, although they are sometimes a bit late adding the newest releases.
Although most of the Ninjago character-cards (and battle-cards) are very well done, there are a few that stand out from all the rest. My personal favorites are Jay, Cole, Jay ZX, and Kendo Cole – at least from the ones I already have. Other awesome characters that I do not have include Chokun, Bytar, Jay NRG and Kai NRG – although unfortunately the NRG ninja have very poor SP (5 of their element and 4 of another); only 900 total! Currently Kai ZX is my best character, and the one I play with the most.
💡 TIP: it’s a good idea not to use a character if they can’t play Chill Charge or Flash’n’Burn – unless of course, you don’t have Chill Charge or Flash’n’Burn at all and don’t really have a choice.
A great thing about Ninjago characters with short legs (like Lloyd, Chokun and Bytar) is that they stick very well to the Ninjago spinners! Still, Lloyd will never be better that Jay ZX, because the only difference between them is that Jay has one more Ice bar. This is also the case with Kendo Kai and Kai ZX. And of course none of the Kendo characters are better than Sensei Wu. I call this being able to eat another character’s card. 😛
Since I have Backup Plan card (reshuffle all your cards – and I take that to mean reshuffle Backup Plan as well), I use only my best battle cards – about 25. After all, unless your opponent has the Falcon Eye card (look at your opponent’s cards and discard the one you want) – you have a never-ending fund of cards. Fortunately, I only know two people with the Falcon Eye card – and one of them is me!
Some of the best cards are Total Recall (give up your character’s headgear, and trade all of your weapons with your opponent – even if they have three and you have one), Backup Plan, Sensei’s Red Card (cancel your opponent’s just played card), Deflection (give up your character’s headgear to cancel your opponent’s card and play it back against them), Recovery (retrieve your headgear/arm), and Falcon Eye. There are some other excellent cards (which I won’t explain) like Whip Attack, Boomerang, Bite Back, Recharge, Chill Charge, Crown of Lightning, Lazy Ninja, and most trap or scroll cards.
If you are having trouble going through your deck in one battle, you can play with what I call the “Three Spin Rule”. That means, after there is a tie for three spins in a row, all cards played in that turn are canceled, and a new round is started. And in case you didn’t know; you are only supposed to play one card before the spin and one afterwards (check out the Spinjitzu Tournament Guide for more information). But don’t forget; you can always change the rules. 😉
Another fun thing to do is play solitaire with your Ninjago battle cards – depending on how many you have this could take some ingenuity! One thing I love doing is just organizing my cards; alphabetically, by SP, how I like the graphics – practically any way that occurs to me! In reality, there are many things you can do with your Ninjago Spinjitzu cards; your imagination is the only limit! Here is another tutorial to help with your game:
And how about you? Do you enjoy playing the Ninjago Spinjitzu game? Which ones are your favorite spinners, characters and cards? And do you have any tips and tricks about the game? Please share your comments and tips below. You can also head over to the LEGO Ninjago section for more news, videos and discussions. Oh, and I’m a TFOL (Teen-Fan-of-LEGO), and this is my first post here. I will have another one coming up soon with the new Ninjago spinners, so stay tuned! NINJA… GOOO!!! 😀
ya first to commet on 2 post in a row
Santa, I changed your link to a friendlier format. Those first generation of ninja are awesome! The gray one was always my favorite! 😀
I think my best card would be flash and burn, it helps if you have a caracter with low SP! 😀
It certainly does – although I think chill charge might actually be better, since it’s not golden.
chill charge and flash’n’burn are great for use on NRG ninja – add 300 sp to the elements they don’t have any sp in. My fav spinner is Cole ZX’s. Btw i also own falcon eye.
Ninjago card for the win! I don’t care much for building sets but cards? You betcha! I have 32 battle cards, and a 8 character cards. Cole ZX is my favorite.
I have 17 character cards and 75 battle cards – five repeats, unfortuantly! 😉
you keep track CRAZY ! 🙄
I was actually wrong – I have 77 cards total and 60 battle cards.
hey guys i have 11 character cards and 44 battle cards of all my cards my most favorite is: meditate
oh and my favorite character cards is COLE ZX 😀
I don’t have meditate, but I do agree that it is an excelent card! Unfortuantly my brothr has it 🙁
I have 9 caracter cards and 36 battel cards!
A pretty good variety. Going to get more snake spinners soon!
me to (get more snake spinners and ninja+ lloyd garmadon booster pack
I would llove to have Kendo Jay! he is the only kendo I’m missing 🙁 Actually, I have all the normal ninjas character cards, two DX (Cole and Kai) Three kendo, and 2 ZX (Kai and Jay), plus lloyd, Frackjaw, Samurai X, and Nya. Plus I have two of the three-d versions of Kai. I’m trying to get all the versions of kai. Succesful so far! 😉
characters i have are:
3-d kendo jay
update: i have
I have backup plan, but when you draw four new cards, do you also shuffle used cards?
Of course. You shuffle ALL your cards (at least that’s the way I play – I’ll admit it does leave you in the dark as to whether or not to suffle back up plan again – but I do anyways 😉 )
i have five Character cards and 19 battle cards Avalanche is a great one
I agree, Avalanche is a really good card, especially for the amount of SP. All the trap cards are good, but they usually ahve higher SP. And avalanche isn’t even golden!
i hate the cards
Why would you have them? Did they hurt you? 😕
CARDS ARE AWESOME!!!
they are lame
santa you sound like my brother and dad 😡
All right, you may not like them, but that doesn’t make them lame. They are just cards, and are great if someone is into playing Spinjitsu or likes collecting them. You can also take advantage of them by trading them to something that you like better. 😉
please like its my first youyubevideo. (it has nothing to do with ninjago but be supportive) 🙂
I HATE WRESTLING!! LAAAAAAAME
hey admin you spelled “spinjitsu” wrong it’s spelled S-P-I-N-J-I-T-Z-U not S-P-I-N-J-I-T-S-U
Oh, thanks for catching that! I always thought it was spelled with an “s” like jujitsu aka. jiu-jitsu. Anyhow, I corrected it. Thanks for noticing! 🙂
admin, it says it which an “S” on the top of the ninjago section you should fix that to
Okay, got that fixed too! 🙂
DX ZX KENDO NRG PWR JAY-NINJA OF LIGHTNING
you should set up a gravatar (the picture you see at the side of the comments) @ gravatar.com

Hello, Cole, nice to have ya! Just last night others were wondering where you are . 😉
yeah i was wondering where you were
This is terrible! The weapons pack on amazon now costs $39.95! The price keeps changing so fast, i guess people really like it. 😀
It seems like it is also selling insome Toys R us stores / at least acording to their website (although it’s $25 there, I blieve)
I HAVE THE WEAPON PACK
yes i got it wen it was low $17.00 now $20.00
Guess what, the weapons pack on amazon now costs $34.95! And that was last time i saw it! The price keeps on going up.
Something is wrong with my commenting. ↑?
Pythor, I see all your comments all right. And yeah, Amazon can have serious price fluctuations. 🙁
Now i have to wait for it to come in stores! Oh well…
I found out what cards come with kai NRG and Chokun! they are:
Rings of Fire – Scroll – cards in shape of figure eight. Spin longer without touching any. 200 Fire
Spitfire Snake – Crown. Throw used Fire Cards during spin. 500 Fire
Strike Down – Golden. Win if both characters fall. 300 Lightning
Sensei’s Whistle – This spin was a tie. Spin again. 400 Lightning
Lava Puddle – Frost Bite. 300 Fire
Gateway Guardian – Scroll – Spin from opposite sides at same time through gate of two cards. If successful, reclaim weapon. 200 Ice.
Circular Saw – Crown. Cinder storm. 400 earth
Elemental Strength – Add 100 to all of your powers. 300 Ice

In the lego may-june magazine it shows a pic of NRG cole and fangdam spinners!
Yeah, pretto cool, huh? I got my magazine on Saturday, and I have been looking over all the pictures! 😛
yeah i saw that 😀
I heard that! unfortunatly I don’t get the magazine until at least a week from now, since my grandpa has to send it 🙁
I have not got the magazine yet im hoping it will come soon because it said it will come in june
I think here in the USA we get it early. 😉
But i was wondering, will the sets be realesed and show in the magazine in July?
I believe that all the spinners (not Lloyd and Zane NRG, of course) will be released in June (I was hoping may, but it’s unlikely) and the sets in August (much to my brotheres chagrin – he wanted the Samurai Mech for his birthday)
If they were realesed in Augest, than i will have to wait 3 more months! I have been saving up money since January and have enough. Now i have to wait 😥
It depends on which magazine you are referring to. If it is the LEGO Club Magazine, then yeah, there is a great possibility as they often show minigis/sets early. If you refere to the LEGO Catalog, probably not. They are always late with the new sets. 😐
Should it not come out in july because every two months there is a new magazine, so next magazine will show the summer sets?
It should – at least in theory. Most likely that’s the way it will work.
UPDATE: new post on the summer Ninjago spinners is now up with lots of pictures. See here: New LEGO Ninjago Spinners Enjoy! 😛
i now have 60 battle cards and 15 player cards
that’s almost exactly the same amount I have!
i have lost most of my cards 🙁
I have a new post on the newest cards here:
UPDATE: The NINJAGO Season 3 trailer is now uploaded! Watch and discuss here: NINJAGO Season 3 Trailer Enjoy! 😛
