2013 LEGO sets – see what’s coming!

LEGO websites and blogs are buzzing with 2013 LEGO news. According to Brickset, German toy-store Werst revealed a list of LEGO sets coming out next year. So let’s look at the list and see what we got.  😛

2013 LEGO Sets – LEGO Ninjago: 2013 is believed to be the last year for Ninjago, but there is going to be one more wave of sets. The Temple of Light, the Golden Dragon and Garmatron sounds particularly interesting. From the list it appears there is going to be no more spinners, but it may be too early to tell for sure. Here is the list of the 2013 LEGO Ninjago sets:

  • #70500 LEGO Ninjago Kai’s Fire Robot
  • #70501 LEGO Ninjago Samurai Bike
  • #70502 LEGO Ninjago Cole’s Power Drill
  • #70503 LEGO Ninjago Golden Dragon
  • #70504 LEGO Ninjago Garmatron
  • #70505 LEGO Ninjago Temple of Light

2013 LEGO Sets – LEGO Legend of Chima: this is the theme that is rumored to replace Ninjago next year. It has a lot of similar features as Ninjago; non-human characters, mythical vehicles, and a game with cards, weapons and new type of spinners. The characters all have half-man-half-animal forms including a wolf, lion, eagle, crocodile, etc. Please note that Speedorz, which was originally thought to be a separate theme, is included amongst the Legend of Chima sets. Below are the 2013 LEGO Legend of Chima sets revealed so far:

  • #70000 LEGO Legend of Chima Razcals Raven Glider
  • #70001 LEGO Legend of Chima Crawleys Reptile Grabber
  • #70012 LEGO Legend of Chima Razars Chi Raider
  • #70002 LEGO Legend of Chima Lennoxs Lion-Buggy
  • #70003 LEGO Legend of Chima Eris Eagle Jet
  • #70004 LEGO Legend of Chima Wakz Wolf tracker
  • #70005 LEGO Legend of Chima Lavals Lion-Quad
  • #70006 LEGO Legend of Chima Craggers Croc-Boat Center
  • #70013 LEGO Legend of Chima Equilas Ultra Striker
  • #70100 LEGO Legend of Chima Speedorz FireRing
  • #70101 LEGO Legend of Chima Speedorz Disc Shooting
  • #70102 LEGO Legend of Chima Chi-Waterfall
  • #70103 LEGO Legend of Chima Speedorz Boulder Bowling
  • #70113 LEGO Legend of Chima Starter Set Chi Tournament

2013 LEGO Sets – The Hobbit: the first wave of LEGO The Hobbit sets are actually scheduled to be released in December of this year to coincide with the release of the The Hobbit film, but I thought to add them here, as their release is quite close to the new year. Here is a list of the 2013 LEGO The Hobbit sets:

  • #79000 LEGO The Hobbit Mystery of the Ring
  • #79001 LEGO The Hobbit Fleeing from the Mirkwood Spiders
  • #79002 LEGO The Hobbit Attack of the Wargs
  • #79003 LEGO The Hobbit An Unexpected Gathering
  • #79010 LEGO The Hobbit The Orc King

2013 LEGO Sets – LEGO Super Heroes: there are a few sets revealed in this theme and there is likely more to come. Here is the list:

  • LEGO Super Heroes Camouflage Tumbler
  • LEGO Super Heroes The Bat Boat
  • LEGO Super Heroes Daily Bugle
  • LEGO Super Heroes Spider-Man Chase

2013 LEGO Sets – LEGO Friends: the LEGO theme for girls is doing extremely well, and is continuing to expand. There are no really big sets scheduled for 2013 (as of yet), but there are several small and medium sets with Friends branching out to different hobbies and interests. There is also going to be some kind of Collectible Friends Series with bags containing an animal and their home. Here is the list of 2013 LEGO Friends sets:

  • #41000 LEGO Friends Andrea’s Jet-Ski
  • #41001 LEGO Friends Mia’s Magic Show
  • #41002 LEGO Friends Emma’s Karate Course
  • #41003 LEGO Friends Olivia’s Foal
  • #41004 LEGO Friends Stephanie’s Grand Entrance
  • #41007 LEGO Friends Heartlake Pet Salon
  • #41008 LEGO Friends Large Swimming Pool
  • #41011 LEGO Friends Soccer Training with Stephanie

2013 LEGO Sets – LEGO City: as usual LEGO city will be more fire and police. I honestly don’t know why LEGO can’t get beyond these. It almost sounds like LEGO is running a police-state; with tons of uniformed guys running around “saving” the few and far between citizens. Although the Museum Robbery sounds interesting. Below are the 2013 LEGO City sets:

  • #60000 LEGO City Fire Motorcycle
  • #60001 LEGO City Fire Department
  • #60002 LEGO City Fire Truck
  • #60003 LEGO City Firefighters
  • #60004 LEGO City Fire Headquarters
  • #60005 LEGO City Fire Boat
  • #60006 LEGO City Police Quad
  • #60007 LEGO City Police Chase
  • #60009 LEGO City Museum Robbery
  • #60010 LEGO City Fire Helicopter

2013 LEGO Sets – LEGO Star Wars: of course Star Wars is a staple for LEGO, and there is a ton of new sets to satisfy all aspiring Jedi. Here is the list of the 2013 LEGO Star Wars sets:

  • #75000 LEGO Star Wars Republic vs. Sith Troopers Battle Pack
  • #75001 LEGO Star Wars Clone Troopers vs. Droidekas Battle Pack
  • #75002 LEGO Star Wars AT-RT
  • #75003 LEGO Star Wars A-Wing Starfighter
  • #75004 LEGO Star Wars Z-95 Headhunter
  • #75005 LEGO Star Wars Rancor Pit
  • #75012 LEGO Star Wars BARC Speeder
  • #75013 LEGO Star Wars Umbaran MHC (Mobile Heavy Cannon)
  • #75006 LEGO SW Planets Series 3 Kamino & Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfigher
  • #75007 LEGO SW Planets Series 3 Coruscant & Republic Assault Striker
  • #75008 LEGO SW Planets Series 3 Asteroid Field & TIE Bomber
  • #75009 LEGO SW Planets Series 4 Hoth & Snowspeeder
  • #75010 LEGO SW Planets Series 4 Endor & B-Wing Starfighter
  • #75011 LEGO SW Planets Series 4 Aldeeran & Tantive IV

2013 LEGO Sets – Hero Factory: this theme appears to be going strong, and will have several new sets next year. Here is the list of the 2013 LEGO Hero Factory sets revealed so far:

  • #44000 LEGO Hero Factory Furno XL
  • #44001 LEGO Hero Factory Pyrox
  • #44002 LEGO Hero Factory Rocka
  • #44003 LEGO Hero Factory Scarox
  • #44004 LEGO Hero Factory Bulk
  • #44005 LEGO Hero Factory Bruizer
  • #44006 LEGO Hero Factory Breez
  • #44007 LEGO Hero Factory Ogrum

So that’s about all we know about the 2013 LEGO sets so far. Quite a list, isn’t it? There is also going to be Series 9 of the Collectible Minifigures, and of course new DUPLO sets for the little kiddies and regular LEGO brick-boxes. In addition, there are persistent rumors of LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles coming in January, and also LEGO sets to tie in with the Disney Lone Ranger movie, which should be very interesting for Western fans. And there are rumors of LEGO Polar X-Plorer and LEGO Space Galaxy themes, but the information is quite sketchy at the moment, but stay tuned!

So what do you think of the 2013 LEGO sets? Do you think it is going to be a good year? Which of the 2013 LEGO sets are you looking forward the most? Share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below!  😉

Looks like another great year of LEGO.

    • Eric at A Lego a Day September 18, 2012, 11:18 AM

Agreed. Gonna be another expensive year for me. I’ll be getting The Hobbit sets for sure, and some of the superhero stuff. Most likely some Star Wars stuff, too, when it goes on sale. Gotta get me a rancor!

  • 12dw1 September 18, 2012, 10:54 AM

looks great especially the camo tumbler from the dark knight rises have been hoping for this for a while
p.s when is the next episode of ninjago?

  • Steven September 18, 2012, 11:47 AM

Got to love what Lego is doing, but wish they would not flood the market with so many great sets. All things in moderation, yet my 4 Lego lovers with no doubt have all the Hobbit & Star Wars. The jury is still out on wether or not Chima will truly be able to replace Ninjago.

  • Hmm. Lone Ranger… That could mean some western stuff. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

my wallet will never be the same again. However, I will pace my self a little . Play the wait and see game. That and the holiday shopping for other people is going to be a balancing act with money.

  • studless September 18, 2012, 11:56 AM

    SO… MUCH… AWESOMENESS…

    • studless September 18, 2012, 11:58 AM

  • woh. it looks like the rancor is attacking Jabba’s Palace. 😆

  • Jacob September 18, 2012, 12:27 PM

Disappointed with City. Emergency services personnel already outnumber civilians at least eight to one, vehicles even worse than that. Would much have preferred a zoo/ school/ transit/ logging, or a return of farming. At least this year had a twist on the fire and police theme that LEGO had not done before. The museum sounds interesting, but I am afraid LEGO will waste its potential by making it too small. Also disappointed with Hero-Factory, as it seems they are not introducing any new heroes (especially since the whole concept of this universe is that there is a factory that literally makes hundreds of different heroes). The others I really cannot give a good opinion on without any images (and maybe after I see images of the stuff I am not happy with I will change my mind).

I heard rumor that the bat boat comes with Mr. Freeze and Aquaman. While I would prefer if Aquaman had his own set (or at least a set composed of other justice league members other than just Batman), if true, it does give some explanation why LEGO changed Mr. Freezes costume to Atlantis dive gear.

    • Eric at A Lego a Day September 19, 2012, 8:40 AM

Man, a zoo would be awesome. Has Lego ever done a school?

      • Jacob September 19, 2012, 8:56 AM

They have, but not a Minifure scale one. Even then, it wasn’t so much a school as part of a classroom.

  • SKOUTLAW FOR LIFE September 18, 2012, 12:53 PM

remember 20 lego sw sets come out nxt year that list only has 15 maybye that means the rest are GIANT SW SETS

  • SKOUTLAW FOR LIFE September 18, 2012, 1:00 PM

the mueseum robery = awesomeness also i want to see what lego will do with the mini republic striker and the mini tanive 4 and the minib wing

  • Kai PWR Inferno September 18, 2012, 1:39 PM

I must know what the new ninjago looks like!!!!

  • Nick_Nox September 18, 2012, 1:57 PM

And Castle Lego? 😮 No mention! Have they just forgotten about it? Only 1 set this year! Not even a few small sets planned. What’s up with that?

    • admin September 18, 2012, 4:57 PM

Yeah, unfortunately no Castle news. It seems like LOTR is going to replace castle for a while. 🙁

  • Zubashi September 18, 2012, 2:48 PM

LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out is coming next week on Cartoon Network. Trailer for it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9n2O8t2t968
    After that, new Ninjago!

  • Kay (The Silver Ninja of Air) September 18, 2012, 3:40 PM

WOW! A mabeltastic year for LEGO! 😀 I’ll probably blow my money on Ninjago, The Hobbit, and maybe, just maybe, a Friends set or two. 🙂 Don’t judge me, OK? Just judge my money at the register! 😀
    ~ the silver ninja 😉

  • legostuff71 September 18, 2012, 4:18 PM

I may not get all of the new LEGO sets all at once. but, I will get them eventually. It’s not a one shot deal.

  • CD's Lego Blog September 18, 2012, 5:26 PM

I don’t want the ninja turtal crap

  • Kaito September 18, 2012, 7:03 PM

*Dies* New Ninjago Sets! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 The Garmatron sounds quite interesting. I bet the Temple of Light is going to be similar to the Fire Temple

  • Kay (The Silver Ninja of Air) September 18, 2012, 7:44 PM

And, also, the set I’m most excited about is definently the Mirkwood Spiders. My librarian read my class The Hobbit last year, so I’m SUPER PUMPED for all of The Hobbit Sets!!!
    ~ the silver ninja 😉

  • NinajgoFan515 September 18, 2012, 8:53 PM

Garmatron? Must be some robot Garmadon is using like Kais Fire Robot :3

    • NRG PYTHOR 42 September 18, 2012, 11:49 PM

      I was thinking that 2! 😀

    • gid617 September 19, 2012, 6:52 AM

Or it could be somehting like the crystal king from power miners.

  • gid617 September 19, 2012, 6:58 AM

I really like the ninjago sets, I’ll probably get kai’s and whichever comes with Zane at least, but all of them sound cool.
I’m also interested to see more of what the Chima sets will be like – the Waterfall especially sounds interesting. As far as the rest, the only thing that I’d want is the Lone Ranger, but supposedly that’s not going to be out until April, so I guess I might have a long wait! 😀

  • Dude September 19, 2012, 11:35 AM

For star wars planet series they should do a arowgoto with mavelovence and griveous 😀

    • NRG PYTHOR 42 September 19, 2012, 11:51 PM

Yah! Also, i think that it will be awsome if all the ninja get robots! But, isnt it unfair for the stone army? 😀

      • KING-BOO-XDDX September 20, 2012, 6:22 PM

more like unfair for zane poor zane is already a robot why would he get a robot? :3

  • gid617 September 20, 2012, 6:29 AM

  • KING-BOO-XDDX September 20, 2012, 6:20 PM

NICE fire temple light temple is ninjago going in legend of zeldas path? lol

    • NRG PYTHOR 42 September 20, 2012, 6:24 PM

      AWSOME!!!

  • Chris October 2, 2012, 9:24 AM

Sounds like some nice sets for Hobbit and Star Wars Fans, but very disapointed in the city sets. They need more variety, how may emergency/police sets do we need. How about a logging truck, or themed series, or maybe an intetesting construction set. Perhaps a car dealership, or maybe a gas well drilling rig series. Also no mention of a train set? I was really hoping for another neat steam engine set like the Emerald Night. No mention of any trains at all!

    • admin October 2, 2012, 10:23 AM

Chris, yeah, I agree about the lackluster City sets. But to cheer you up, yes, there is indeed a train coming! Quite nice one too! I’m planning to write about it this weekend. 😉

  • NRG Great Devourer October 11, 2012, 1:06 AM

Soundsssssssssssss cool. I have ssssssssssssome ideassssssss for Ninjago:
    70006 The Serpentine Train and
    70007 NGTV Building
    70008 Dark Island
Here are game ideassssssssssssss for 2013 below:
55001 LEGO Multiverse ( same stuff as LU, except there are more universes with 6 worlds each)
    123321 Ninjago Universe
    Are my ideassssssssssssssssss good, admin?

  • Trista October 13, 2012, 10:05 PM

“this is the theme that is rumored to replace Ninjago next year”
People said lego Friends would, and if it does i will:
    DIE
CALL LEGO COMPANY AND TELL THEM WHY DID YOU?
    SCREAM
    SCREAM IN A PILLOW
    JUMP AROUND
    ROLL ON FLOOR
    KICK SOMEBODY
    AND BE SAD
I really like ninjago and i doooo not want it to get destroyed 🙁

    • Josh November 4, 2012, 6:58 PM

Welcome to the “lego destroyed my theme club” I joined whith then death of bionicle and rock raiders

I wonder if there are new lego ninjago sets.

    • admin October 16, 2012, 9:07 AM

Nick, I’m not sure what you mean. There are six new Ninjago sets coming and they are all listed in the post above. 😕

  • AlexTHAbrick527 October 22, 2012, 7:06 PM

The one and only LEGO set I’m looking forward to is the BAT vs Bane TUMBLER chase.
oh yeah big BAT gonna catch you tumblr.

  • Jared October 24, 2012, 9:47 PM

I wish they would reissue the Taj Mahal- the prices on ebay are OUTRAGEOUS!!! If anyone ever wants to sell one used- I will buy it!
    PLEASE LEGO PLEASE!

    • admin October 25, 2012, 11:55 AM

Jared, yeah, unfortunately the Taj is expensive now. But this is the case with most discontinued sets. You really have to get LEGO sets while they are still available. I remember LEGO was trying to get rid of the Taj for a long time, selling it for crazy low prices. 🙁

  • ricky November 3, 2012, 2:42 PM

yeah, looking for sets like Taj Mahal, the old big statue of liberty, carousel, tower bridge, eiffel tower, constitution ship – some of the classic large sets…. anything similar to those coming out in 2013?

    • admin November 3, 2012, 5:41 PM

Ricky, yes, very likely we will see some large exclusive sets. There is definitely a new addition to the Modular Houses series, very likely a large Star Wars set, and probably one or two others. Usually these are not revealed until the beginning of they year. Stay tuned… 😉

  • legojosiah November 4, 2012, 3:17 AM

Well I think this legend of chima sounds interesting!

  • ricky November 4, 2012, 5:09 PM

While the star wars series are nice, and the modular houses are ok, I’m looking for those magnificent sets like Taj, carousel, the old constitution ship (which I missed out on!), and the magnificent statue of LIberty (which also before my time when i could afford). even some of the ferrari sets again would be nice to see/have.

    • admin November 5, 2012, 10:13 AM

Ricky, those are just examples I gave in the LEGO exclusives line, and a bit more predictable than the stand-alone sets like the Taj or the Carousel. But since LEGO comes out with something big like that every year, I’m sure we will get something. No news yet, but I will update our readers when something surfaces. 😉

  • Boon headcrab November 4, 2012, 10:53 PM

Lololol No GAME LEGO SETS No GOW3 No LP2 No R2?

  • Boon headcrab November 4, 2012, 10:53 PM

  • Lloyd November 14, 2012, 7:20 PM

so they keep hero factory but ninjago going bye bye? that makes me mad really mad

    • Chase November 26, 2012, 8:53 PM

      Me to

  • Ninjagofreak0131 November 26, 2012, 10:05 PM

If Ninjago goes off of cartoon network to replace with legends of chima i will personaly stop watching tv and DIE

    • admin November 27, 2012, 11:00 AM

Come on, it’s not so bad… the ninja needed some rest. Chima should be starting shortly, and so far what I have seen it is a worthy continuation of Ninjago. Give it a chance. 😉

  • Ethyl December 3, 2012, 12:38 AM

Where do you get your info/pictures of upcoming sets? Any idea when the Rancor Pit is coming out?

    • admin December 3, 2012, 11:29 AM

Ethyl, the Rancor Pit is scheduled to be released in 2013. It should be available in January, maybe even late December in some markets. As far news LEGO sends us press-releases and news items. There is also a very large network of LEGO fans who sometimes leak information early. Another great source of upcoming sets is toy shows and comics shows. These are huge annual events where companies show their upcoming products. Hope this helps some. 😉

  • Auston December 5, 2012, 8:01 PM

I want Galaxy Squad and Chima. I do hope I get the last two hobbit sets I need, I am so going to get the ninjago sets and I have seen that there is going to be a second wave of the lego lord of the rings it says it in the hobbit instruction books. Oh, 79000 is riddles for the ring, 79010 is the goblin king battle and 79001 is escape from mirkwood spiders. Can’t wait for 2013!

  • Jessie December 27, 2012, 9:05 PM

Hi! How about Lego Creator? What’s next after City Hall? I hope they will do a museum, something like Marco Bessa’s Ancient Lady Museum!!!!

    • admin December 28, 2012, 12:10 PM

Jessie, the next Modular Building is a cinema. It is a corner building and looks really sweet. Will write about it on Sunday. 😉

  • lego king December 28, 2012, 2:57 PM

    CINEMA!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!

  • Alma January 2, 2013, 9:15 AM

Dear Lego, will there be any new Ninjago Spinners in 2013, or the new Speedor things from Legends of Chima replaced them?

    • admin January 2, 2013, 10:09 AM

Alma, LEGO did decide to continue the Ninjago theme, however at this point they are not revealing any details. But stay tuned; if any news comes out we will surealy talk about it! 😉

  • Alma January 2, 2013, 11:10 AM

Thank you very much for ur reply 🙂
Will check your blog for updates!
