Pictures of an interesting LEGO set have been circulating for a while now with a mysterious Chinese Dragon. A lot of people thought the preliminary images were fake, but in fact it turned out to be a genuine LEGO set, although limited edition. The set I’m talking about is the #10250 LEGO Year of the Snake. Check it out below! 🙂
It appears that the #10250 LEGO Year of the Snake set is a variation of the #6914 LEGO Creator Prehistoric Hunters set released in 2012, with extra instructions and parts to build the Chinese Dragon and that beautiful gateway with two snakes printed on the door.
The LEGO Year of the Snake set seems to be an exclusive to Asian markets (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.) as most of the writing on the box and the instructions are in Chinese only. 😕
At least to me the most exciting part in the Chinese Dragon set is the printed round door with the two red snakes. It is a really exclusive piece I would love to get my hands on, and hope will eventually show up on BrickLink and other online LEGO marketplaces.
If you own the #6914 LEGO Creator Prehistoric Hunters set (or if you just want to try to build the Chinese Dragon from your current LEGO collection) you can download the building instructions as a PDF file here: DOWNLOAD LEGO YEAR OF THE SNAKE INSTRUCTIONS
If you don’t have the #6914 LEGO Creator Prehistoric Hunters, you can get it directly from the Online LEGO Shop, then use the instruction above to build the Chinese Dragon. Unfortunately you won’t have that gorgeous gateway, but at least you would have an awesome dragon! 😀
So what do you think? How do you like the LEGO Year of the Snake set? And for our Asian readers; have you seen this set already? Would love to know if it is already on the market! Let us know, and share your thoughts in the comment section below! 😉
Awesome snake! Like you were saying, that gateway is really cool!
That’s awesome! 😀 Though I rarely get Creator because of the lack of minifigures.
So do I,but this one looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t really care about getting minifigures (unless they are licensed or look cool -like CMF) but I like Creator and TECHNIC sets because of the more advanced builds and more interesting models that sometimes includes amazing functions. 😉
But mesa needs minifigs for stop-motions. 😛
Yes, Technic and Creator sets are really awesome. I expecially like Creator. The building techniques are really interesting and the models beautiful. The Technic sets are even more complex, but they are more for techie guys so I never really got into them. But I do appreciate the amazing functionality of Technic sets.
Well you may be able to get the door on amazon or ebay cause they have everything!
I know that I’m once again off topic, but I made my Led Zeppelin minifigs a drum set.

I just checked it out and commented. Great creation Nace!
He looks a little lost behind those drums. 😉
Yeah, he does. But one thing keeps him from ever feeling awkward behind a drum. He is so good, yet he never took lessons!
Yeah, very awesome! Big drums rule! 😀
I’d have expected a working door. Disappointed!
Yeah, I was also disappinted in the door not being able to open, but I would still like to get one because of the snakes. 🙄
i love the gate!!!
Sry if this is off topic just seeing if gravatar work :embaresd:
RATS!!!
plzwork?
It takes a few minutes for a Gravatar to load.
Admin you can delete these i was seeing if my gravatar would work
It works!
It’s all right. Your gravatar actually shows up immediately, but due to your computer’s cache you would see the change only after your cache is emptied after you refresh the page. That’s why you couldn’t see it right away. 😉
Hey admin! I know this is sorta off-topic, but is there a way I can contact BrotherHood Workshop through email? I want to ask a few questions about stop-motion.
If you’d have FaceBook, they have a Facebook page…
https://www.facebook.com/BrotherhoodWorkshop
Thanks, Hakan, yes. I have always communicated with them thru FaceBook as well, so probably that would be the best option. 🙂
Yeah, but I’m not allowed to get a Facebook till I’m 15. 😛
Hm… then I think the other option would be to contact them thru their YouTube Channel. Would that work?
You’d still need to register somehow… If you have GMail or Google+, I think you become a YouTube member automatically, since Google owns YouTube…
(Personally, I mostly avoid Facebook for personal reasons, I prefer e-mail… =/)
I live in Hong Kong and I still haven’t seen it in the market yet. I hope it comes out soon, Chinese New Year is only a month away.
Also, I would like to add that from looking at the writing in the provided pictures, it looks like that it will only be available in China. The writing is in Simplified Chinese (an abbreviated version of traditional Chinese used only in China) which is not really recognized in other Asian countries like Taiwan.
I was hoping that you will see this post and let us know if you have seen the set already. 😉
Interesting info about the Chinese text. I’m surprised though if LEGO is planning to release this set only in China. It seems like they would be missing out. Thanks for the info and keep us posted if and when you see this set. 🙂
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PARTY ROCKERS *Gives everybody CAKE!!!!!!!!*
GTG BYE!!!!!!!!!!
Bye guys,i’m going to check out the Speedors game. Goodbye.
Why wouldn’t the Speedors game load? 😡
I was reading that a lot of people have been having problems loading the game. I don’t know if there is actually something wrong with the game or if too many people are planning to load it at once. Or maybe both. 😕
I was trying to play it on an iPod Touch 4th Gen, and it kept crashing every time I tried to play it. 😛
Hm… it is good to know that it also crashes on the iPod. It would probably be a good idea to inform LEGO about this. 🙁
It hasn’t crashed on me. Most of the time it works great except for the ripcord sometimes not working. I’m using a 5th Gen iPod Touch. However, NTK was telling me it keeps crashing on his 4th Gen. Maybe it doesn’t work very well yet on older Generations…
You could be right. Still sad. I mean a 4th Gen iPod is not that old. There must be some bugs in there. 🙄
Yeah. Apple comes out with one every three minutes.
Yeah, I know. That’s why I’m not an Apple fan. 🙄
Hey guys this set may be avalible in China Towns!
That gate is beautiful. I wish the set would come to the US. Thanks for the info about the Prehistoric Hunters set. That just adds a reason to get that set.
I would buy it but my parents don’t buy internationaly so i’ll probally not get them D:
Didn’t we get a gate kinda like this in the place the ninjas used to use as their home or in the fire temple?
There are some rectangular doors/windows with dragon designs, but not another round one, as far as I know. But those are very nice too. 🙂
Guys… this set has been cancelled.
Oh… sorry to hear that. 😥
China Amazon currently list this set at retailing at 399 Yuan (56 USD) and discounted at 299 Yuan (48 USD). A Hong Kong Ebay seller is offer 10 sets for 79.99 USD each with free shipping. The set is not being sold in the USA, Europe, Australia, Korea or Japan.
Walter, thanks for sharing that! So the set must not be canceled, only limited to a certain geographical area. Good to hear! 😀
I have this set for sale… I am from The Netherlands and have a lot of sets bought through a Chinese Friend who sent them to me from China to The Netherands.
Anybody interested? Please mail me..
Dirk, thanks for sharing that! You might also consider listing it on Bricklink, I’m sure lots of people would love to get their hands on them! Personally I’m only interested in the printed door and hope it will appear on Bricklink one day. 😀
Hi dirk
I am very interested in this set I would very much interested in buying the set if still available if it is please reply or email me because I would love set if it is on your bricklink site please list the site on another comment can you ship to the UK I would be willing to pay and is the box unopened or opened as I would be looking for a new unopened set
Thanks
Joe
Dear Admin,
Thank you for your feedback.
I don’t have a bricklink account yet, I think I will start one soon.
You are only interested in the door , because the snake can be made with the parts of the 6914 probabaly.
Till now there are very less, or none people who sell this set in Europe yet.
I have enough sets now for a while and if you still want one once, just let me know….
Dirk, yes, a lot of people actually think that this set is a myth. They sell for $80-$85 both on Bricklink and eBay directly from Hong Kong. I’m pretty sure that if you list them from Europe people would grab them up as a lot of people are nervous about shopping directly from Asia.
If you do decide to open a Bricklink store, make sure you make an announcement on the BL Forum. People are suspicious of 0 feedback sellers listing something truly unique – they think it’s a scam. So best is to say “hi” in the Forum, mention who you are, and invite people to check out your store. 😉
Thx.. I openend a bricklink store.. now its waiting for my first customers… 😉
May I ask what’s the link? 😉
