LEGO The Simpsons Minifigure Series coming!

A few days ago LEGO revealed the upcoming LEGO The Simpsons Minifigure Series at their Facebook page. So let’s talk about them! ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO The Simpsons Collectible Minifigures

As previous LEGO minifigure collections there are 16 LEGO The Simpsons minifigs within the series, and they will be packaged in blind baggies as usual. Please note however that this series is not referred to as LEGO Minifigures Series 13, but as LEGO The Simpsons Minifigures. Just like The LEGO Movie Minifigure Series is not called Series 12 officially – although LEGO fans often refer to it that way. As far as I know the series after this will be tied with the LEGO Minifigures Online MMO game – whether that will be referred to as the “real” Series 12 is not known at this point.

Going back to the LEGO The Simpsons Minifigure Series, here are the 16 characters included: Chief Wiggum, Scratchy, Ralph Wiggum, Nelson Muntz, Marge Simpson, Milhouse, Maggie Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Krusty the Clown, Itchy, Homer Simpson, Grampa, Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, Bart Simpson and Apu Nahasapeemapetilon.

I’m personally going to be skipping this series…

    • LK901 March 31, 2014, 10:38 AM

Same… I still think this was a bad decision for LEGOยฎ…..

Also, it has been confirmed that the MMO series will be series 12, so that can be updated. Not going to bother searching through Brickimedia for a link.

      • crashheroicpepper1 March 31, 2014, 11:37 AM

Not collecting. I utterly hate the show for what it represents, and feel this was the worst decision for LEGOยฎ.

      • admin March 31, 2014, 11:59 AM

Okay, cool, good to know. Looking forward to that series!

        • seth April 8, 2014, 6:20 PM

I whish they would make a series with…
          a ballerina
          scarecrow
          wizard
          lion suit guy
          runner
          ghost
these would be cool don’t you think?

          • admin April 9, 2014, 10:22 AM

Seth, there is already a scarecrow in a previous series, and wizards, runners and ghosts are quite common in regular LEGO sets. I love your idea for the ballerina and the lion suit guy though! ๐Ÿ˜›

      • JayVendetta April 14, 2014, 7:08 PM

        Same… lol repetitive comment

    • ninja of stealth March 31, 2014, 11:55 AM

same here NinjagoNerd. but I hope they start doing the arm and shorter leg printing like that on better themes.

      • admin March 31, 2014, 12:01 PM

That’s actually not printing on the legs and the arms. The color is moulded in the plastic! It is really sweet, and I also hope LEGO will use this technique for other themes as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

        • NinjagoNerd36 March 31, 2014, 1:34 PM

Agreed. I’m tired of mini legs only being one solid color.

        • LK901 March 31, 2014, 2:37 PM

It will be used across all themes by 2015! (Again I’m not going to find the link, sorry)

        • lego ff March 31, 2014, 5:42 PM

Totally. Not. Worth. Getting. But I do hope they have the molding like you said in other themes. ๐Ÿ™

        • ninja of stealth April 1, 2014, 12:19 PM

WHA?!?!?!?!?!?! COOL! but I’m not getting any of these minifigures. but I do hope they do that maybe for some LEGO city sets and more!

    • Lloydguy March 31, 2014, 5:02 PM

Never. Looking. At. These. Again. isn’t Homer a “drunkard?”

      • ninja of stealth April 1, 2014, 12:23 PM

I wouldn’t doubt it Lloyd. and if he was, doesn’t LEGO not like anything involving you know what. (I’m not sure if I can say the word on this website.) alcohol, am I aloud to type that here?

        • Lloydguy April 1, 2014, 7:44 PM

My friend said Homer was a “My friend (who watches the Simpsons) said he was.

          • Lloydguy April 1, 2014, 7:45 PM

Gah! Didn’t mean that! I mean’t My friend (who watches the Simpsons) said he was.

    • seth April 8, 2014, 5:05 PM

this is a very bad one. im not getting it.
why did they make the simsons?

    • Angus September 5, 2014, 10:54 PM

      Oh, shut up

  • ~EliteBrick~ March 31, 2014, 11:02 AM

I’m go8ing to get Bart and Homer for the short sleeves!

  • Jay-Mouth Of Lightning- March 31, 2014, 11:12 AM

I can not wait for these to be released!! Time to start saving up for all of them!! My most favorite is Mr Burns and Krusty!! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Beardless Dwarf March 31, 2014, 11:14 AM

I’m not going to rant about the bad decision LEGO made doing a Simpsons theme but I will not be getting this series. Mostly I get the CMFs because I customize and honestly, there are some decent-looking parts here but none that I *have* to have. I need to find the other Series 11 and Movie figures that I want before these hit the shelves.

  • Yoda Archives March 31, 2014, 11:41 AM

I’ll be collecting these. The Simpsons have been around for 25 years. There will be a lot of Simpsons fans collecting these.

  • ninja of stealth March 31, 2014, 11:57 AM

when is LEGO going to make up there own for the minifigure series? I mean, yeah, the LEGO movie thing was awesome but I liked it most when LEGO made there own.

    • admin March 31, 2014, 12:02 PM

I also prefer the non-branded minifigs, but there are collectors out there who have been waiting for these for years, even decades. So let them have their fun too. ๐Ÿ˜›

      • ninja of stealth April 1, 2014, 12:24 PM

I’m not saying there not fun and cool, I’m just saying what I prefer. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • kixleart March 31, 2014, 6:58 PM

more or less same. even if it’s just collectable minifigs from a non-branded lego theme like chima or castle or ninjago or something, i would rather that they use their own ideas for the minifigures instead of someone else’s.

  • CMJ March 31, 2014, 12:09 PM

These are great! I like that the individual figures have full open eyes, as most of the ones that came with the house are half-closed, like they’re all plotting against each other, lol. Now the absolute icing on the doughnut would be if they made a LEGO Simpsons video game!

    • LK901 March 31, 2014, 2:39 PM

      Well, you can dream….
The Simpsons isn’t a full theme, so I’d seriously doubt there would be a Video Game.

Video Games are bad for your brain too.

  • Crazybricks March 31, 2014, 12:43 PM

I think this is the worst idea ever they could have made a ninjago minifig series and it could have had Zane’s father, Cole’s father, Jay’s parents, Lloyd’s mother, Sensei Wu’s father, Cyrus Borg (normal), pink Zane,Pizza delivery Jay, pink apron Zane, etc.

    • LK901 March 31, 2014, 2:43 PM

      I wish so too……..

    • BLProductions March 31, 2014, 2:49 PM

Wow. That is exactly what I was thinking. I made it almost to 16 for a Ninjago series. Including but not limited to ๐Ÿ˜‰ :
Zane’s dad, Ed, Edna, Mesako, pink Zane ๐Ÿ™‚ , The 1st spinjitzu Master, Dareth, Cole’s dad, Kai in blacksmith suit, Kai in suit & tie (from ep27), Young Wu, Young Garmadon, Nya (in ep27 outfit), Captain Soto, No-eyed Pete, and Brad/Jean. That’s 16 ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Crazybricks March 31, 2014, 6:08 PM

Ooh I like all of the other characters you thought of

        • Majestic Kai Fan April 1, 2014, 2:33 AM

Yeah they should totally bring the Ninjago Collectable minifigures, I’d buy all of them ๐Ÿ˜‰

          • admin April 1, 2014, 10:45 AM

I so want a Zane in a pink suit! Also all of the ninja in their pjs. ๐Ÿ˜›

            • Lloydguy April 1, 2014, 7:48 PM

PJs PJs PJs! Please LEGO official, if you’re reading this, consider the Ninja in their PJs!

    • ninja of stealth April 1, 2014, 12:26 PM

THAT WOULD BE SO COOL! ๐Ÿ˜€ you should request that to LEGO somehow.

  • Lorca Strand March 31, 2014, 12:56 PM

Definitely avoiding these! What a wonky marketing maneuver for LEGO!

  • Lorca Strand March 31, 2014, 12:56 PM

Well, I might get ONE, just to add to my collection. A Wiggum, maybe?

  • BLProductions March 31, 2014, 2:38 PM

I can’t say I hate the Simpsons, as I barely know what they are (please don’t explain though). The only one I would get is Mr. Burns, I want that 3m stick he’s holding, as well as the minifig head. Too bad there’s a fish on it… ๐Ÿ˜•
I just wish the TLM series wasn’t sold out, I want ABE LINCOLN!!!! ๐Ÿ˜ก

    • LK901 March 31, 2014, 2:39 PM

Is it sold out on LEGO.com? You can check there..

      • BLProductions March 31, 2014, 3:04 PM

Yes it is, at least in the US. There’s not even a CM section anymore!

        • admin March 31, 2014, 3:08 PM

My TRU has tons of them. I mean boxes and boxes. Maybe check TRU in your area?

          • BLProductions March 31, 2014, 4:17 PM

Hmm…They seem to be in stock at TRU.com. But the nearest store to me is almost half an hour (almost 12 miles) away. My parents would never drive there for Lego, and they wouldn’t buy them online either. Plus they’re $4. ๐Ÿ™

            • admin March 31, 2014, 7:29 PM

              That’s a nice bike-ride. ๐Ÿ˜‰

          • NinjagoNerd36 March 31, 2014, 4:22 PM

            What’s TRU anyway? Toy’s R Us?

            • Lloydguy March 31, 2014, 5:07 PM

yes, and they crazily inflate prices (Hence $4 for a ‘fig in the US)

              • NinjagoNerd36 March 31, 2014, 7:19 PM

Agreed. Back when Hero Factory came out I was looking for Von Nebula. I looked at TRU. price: $30
Target: $20. Seriously, how they stay in business is beyond me…

                • admin March 31, 2014, 7:27 PM

They prey on unsuspecting parents and grandparents who don’t know any better…

                  • Strider March 31, 2014, 9:39 PM

That is actually really true, people like my parents just can’t know,
I mean it’s all expensive to them so how are you to tell unless you know the price. I want that green suit on the sneaky old guy but other then that I don’t care for these.

              • admin March 31, 2014, 7:28 PM

I remember reading that those prices are here to stay for future series as well… unfortunately…

                • BLProductions March 31, 2014, 9:33 PM

Bummer. I can’t see why they’d do it, minifigs are already quite pricey in terms of piece count (~4-6pcs.). But $3 is a good price, CM is popular. ๐Ÿ˜•

            • admin March 31, 2014, 7:29 PM

              Yes. ๐Ÿ˜‰

              • Lloydguy March 31, 2014, 8:30 PM

                “Yes” what?

    • Kim March 31, 2014, 8:43 PM

try http://www.theminifigurestore.com. They are more expensive because you know which one you’re getting but at least you get the exact one you want.

      • admin April 1, 2014, 10:41 AM

There are also many sellers on BL that sell the individual minifigs. TheMinifigureStore is fine for British LEGO fans, but for USA buyers it is too expensive. I buy my minifigs either locally after feeling for them, or at BrickLink.

      • ninja of stealth April 1, 2014, 12:28 PM

really? I’m going to have to check out that website. and then, I can get, whatever I want! ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

    • Yoda Archives April 1, 2014, 1:05 PM

Have you tried walgreen’s? They carry minifigs.

  • Kim March 31, 2014, 6:56 PM

I don’t have an issue with the Simpsons nor video games, in fact I’d love a Simpsons Lego themed video game. However, I am not a fan of having so much licensed stuff as opposed to the older general themes. I see using these for parts because I do like their accessories.

P.S. Not all video games are bad for your brain but negativity is.

    • NinjagoNerd36 March 31, 2014, 7:21 PM

Actually, I have yet to find ONE piece of scientific evidence tat video games, in general, will actually harm you. Some video games I do understand are just not meant to be played. But I normally just play Nintendo and PC games.

      • Kim March 31, 2014, 7:40 PM

Same here. I play RPGs and Nintendo character games on top of the various Lego games. Nothing brain damaging there. Good for hand-eye coordination.

        • BLProductions March 31, 2014, 9:40 PM

What are RPGs? I also play Nintendo (though mostly only Mario games), as well as LittleBigPlanet on the PS3 and a few Lego games. The only brain damaging games I see are all the xbox ones where you shoot and kill everything, also the ones w/ zombies (and I don’t mean b/c they eat brains ๐Ÿ˜ ). ๐Ÿ˜•

          • Kim March 31, 2014, 10:26 PM

RPGs are Role-Playing Games like Final Fantasy or Tales of Xillia or Bravely Default, Dragon Quest, Earthbound. They are generally very story and cinematic or text heavy. I ‘ve often compared them to an interactive fantasy novel or movie. Some do have futuristic themes though. Not be to be confused with Western/American RPGs like Mass Effect or Fable or Dragon Age. Though still RPGs, they are more action oriented and really aren’t as good as the Japanese ones.

        • Strider March 31, 2014, 9:43 PM

I used to play fighting fantasy on my kindle because they were releasing the apps. I absolutely loved the whole idea and tolkienish fantasy theme but those things can get really dark and depressing. Good for imagination too though, and memory. (So you turn left and drink the goblet, and then sneak past the orc and then fight the blacksmith and answer yes to the wizard and turn right and use the potion not the key and, blah blah something like that.

          • Strider March 31, 2014, 9:43 PM

Sorry I left out a parentheses. (I’m a grammar nazi to my conscience.)

            • Strider April 1, 2014, 7:49 AM

Fighting Fantasy is a bit more like interactive fiction then a RPG, but it does have a lot of game elements too.

        • The Buttmuffin April 17, 2014, 6:37 PM

actuallty they apparently(I have no idea how) decrease hand-eye coordination and eyesight but those are the only harmful effects.

  • ntk743 April 2, 2014, 11:32 AM

Bad move LEGO! I am not buying one pack!

  • The Buttmuffin April 17, 2014, 6:34 PM

You know I will probably buy them for a few reasons 1) I love the simps 2)if I buy two in a lot of years since few people are seeming to buy them they will be rare 3) I can sell one set keep the other awile from now because there is a BIG simpsons fan base BAAM! Monies!

  • Grayson May 3, 2014, 11:18 AM

Can you come out with a Felling guide for the LEGO Simpsons mystery bag

    • admin May 3, 2014, 3:25 PM

Grayson, William writes those, so I just asked him on your behalf. He said he was actually planning to write the guide last night, but when he went to the store there was only the empty box left from the day before. So he will have to go back when have another box available. So he is working on it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • McAwesome June 25, 2014, 4:28 PM

I might be getting the Simpson house soon.

  • Coffee July 25, 2014, 2:13 PM

Something for everyone, I would enjoy this set. But Springfield is such a big place, it needs more minifigs!
