What’s new at the Online LEGO Shop

I know we have talked about many of the exciting new LEGO sets released recently, but I thought it would be helpful to have a comprehensive overview on what is new. This way you can see them all in one place, and we can also discuss them easier. Most of these new sets should be now available at the largest LEGO retailers, at official LEGO stores, and at the Online LEGO Shop. So let’s take a look! ๐Ÿ™‚

LEGO Shop June LEGO Sales

โžก 2014 LEGO NINJAGO SETS: Two new LEGO Ninjago sets have been released this summer; the #70727 LEGO Ninjago Kai’s Ninja Charger and the #70728 LEGO Ninjago Battle for Ninjago City. Kai’s 2-in-1 vehicle looks excellent, and the temple is a gorgeous set. You can see more here: 2014 LEGO Ninjago Summer Sets Coming! and LEGO Ninjago Temple Video-Review, and if you are interested to see more pictures or to buy, visit the Ninjago section of the Online LEGO Shop.

โžก 2014 LEGO SUPER HEROES SUMMER SETS: Several new Super Heroes sets are out in the Guardians of the Galaxy collection, with some very unique minifigures including Storm, Cyclobs, Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora Sakaaran, Ronan, Rocket Raccoon, and more. If you are interested to see details or to buy, visit the Super Heroes section of the Online LEGO Shop.

โžก 2014 THE LEGO MOVIE SUMMER SETS: These sets have been on pretty much everyone’s wanted list. Especially Benny’s Spaceship. Get any of them, you will not be disappointed! You can see video-reviews of all three sets here: The LEGO Movie Summer Sets Video-Reviews, and if you are interested to see more pictures or to buy, visit The LEGO Movie section of the Online LEGO Shop.

โžก 2014 LEGO ULTRA AGENTS SETS: We have discussed this brand new theme before, but yeah, LEGO Ultra Agents are out! These are fantastic sets with very unique minifigures and a lot of play-value. You can read more about them here: LEGO Ultra Agents Available Now!, and if you are interested to see more pictures or to buy, visit the Ultra Agents section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop LEGO Ultra Agents

โžก 2014 LEGO CITY ARCTIC SETS: This is another brand new theme. I haven’t mentioned it much before because I just felt weird talking about Arctic sets in the middle of the summer, but this is actually a very solid theme that I know a lot of LEGO fans appreciate. Also, the new huskies are very sweet. If you would like to see pictures or to buy, visit theย City section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop LEGO City Arctic

โžก 2014 LEGO TMNT SETS: These sets are not exactly new, but they have been released fairly recently, so I thought to add them here for LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans as some people may not be aware that they are out. If you are interested to see pictures or to buy, visit the TMNT section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop LEGO TMNT Sets

โžก 2014 LEGO MIXELS SETS: Three new Mixels tribes have been released today; the blue Frosticons, the brown Fang Gang, and the orange Flexers. I know a lot of people collect these cute little buggers (including myself), so it is great to have them finally available. If you would like to learn more about the news tribes go here: LEGO Mixels Series 2 Characters Coming!, and if you are interested to see more pictures or to buy, visit the Mixels section of the Online LEGO Shop.

โžก 2014 LEGO CREATOR SETS: The two most interesting sets in this wave are the #31026 LEGO Creator Bike Shop & Cafe, and the #10244 LEGO Creator Fairground Mixer. We have discussed both sets at length here: LEGO Creator Bike Shop & Cafe and Unveiling of the LEGO Fairground Mixer, andย if you are interested to see more pictures or to buy, visit the Creator section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2014 LEGO Creator

โžก 2014 LEGO TECHNIC SETS: In this wave we get smaller, cheaper Technic sets, and they are a great way to get introduced to building with Technic. Also, several of the vehicles come with pull-back motors, so there is also a potential for action and play! If you are interested to see pictures or to buy, visit the Technic section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2014 LEGO Technic

โžก 2014 LEGO IDEAS SET: The highly anticipated #21108 LEGO Ghostbusters Echo-1 set is now available. I have already gotten and built this set (review will come soon) and I can tell you it is worth every penny. LEGO Ideas sets are also reat investments as they are highly desirable and sell out quickly. If you have never bought a LEGO Ideas (formerly LEGO CUUSOO) set before, get this one. You can see full description and pictures at the Ideas section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop LEGO Ideas

โžก 2014 LEGO JUNIORS SETS: This is a theme we haven’t really talked about as of yet, but they are definitely worth mentioning. They are designed for younger builders (both boys and girls) who are just transitioning from DUPLO over to regular size LEGO. The sets are easy to put together and provide a lot of play-value. There is one thing about these sets that may be interesting to older builders too; there are many really nice prints in these sets, but they are not stickers! They are printed right on the elements! If you dislike stickers (like I do), this is a major plus! If you are interested to check out the whole collection visit the Juniors section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2014 LEGO Juniors

โžก 2014 LEGO DUPLO SETS: This is another theme we haven’t touched on for a while, but it deserves to be discussed because DUPLO knights are back! Well, at least a few of them. I will write a separate article about this as it’s an interesting topic, but there are definitely some nice new sets here for younger builders. You can see all the newย offerings in the DUPLO section of the Online LEGO Shop.

Shop 2014 LEGO DUPLO

So as you can see there are quite a few new sets to choose from, along with several brand new lines of products. What do you think? What’s on your summer LEGO shopping list? And what did you get already? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I like when LEGO creates a line of new, fresh sets. We haven’t had too many arctic or arctic-like sets in a while.
You gotta love auto correct, right?

    • MASTEROFFIRE June 2, 2014, 12:45 PM

I agree the arctic sets are a cool line of sets.

The only LEGO store in Indiana is in Castleton Square Mall in Indianapolis. There might be closer stores in Illinois or Ohio depending on where you live. The entire list of LEGO stores can be found here.

I spent twenty minutes this morning hunting every set that came out. They’re so awesome! ๐Ÿ˜€ Unfortunately, I don’t get very many of these new sets, only one or two from each theme. ๐Ÿ™ Really want some Arctic!

Oh, and this is weird: http://brickset.com/article/11341/mixels-series-3-images . I believe an alien invasion is coming from Lego. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh no it’s a war of blocks

  • Kim June 1, 2014, 4:15 PM

So many unbelievably awesome sets. Fairground Mixer, Ghostbusters, and Bike Shop & Cafe are on my list. As is that new train station. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Train-Station-60050

    • admin June 1, 2014, 5:06 PM

Kim, yeah, I agree; lots of great sets to choose from! I spent this morning looking through the new offerings. I ended up ordering the new Minecraft set as well as the new wave of all the Mixels as I collect those little monsters. I could have gotten the Mixels locally, but this way I qualified for free shipping, plus also used up a chunk of my VIP points to pay for it all. I already have the Ghostbusters set and Benny’s Spaceship, so I’m set for a while. The only other set I want this year is the Exo-Suit, and depending on what it, is maybe the new Modular. I know you mentioned you considered the Ghostbusters set. Did you get it yet? From all the new sets that is the only one I’m really concerned about that it will sell out fast. ๐Ÿ˜

      • Kim June 1, 2014, 6:48 PM

I did not get it yet. I’m trying to get a little more financially stable before I delve into frequently buying sets. I should be able to get something new starting in July or end of August moving forward. In regards to Ghostbusters, the only concern with that should be the wait period. It will probably sell out but knowing that, I think Lego will be sure to restock it frequently. The Delorean came out in August and it was in abundance the next February. I know the wait can be excruciating but I wouldn’t worry about not getting a Ghostbusters too much.

        • admin June 1, 2014, 7:39 PM

Yes, budgeting is very important in the LEGO hobby. Otherwise it could get out of hand pretty quickly. I agree that if LEGO is smart they will keep the Ghostbusters set in stock until at least the end of the year. The biggest issue is resellers. I know they have been licking their lips waiting for the release of this set. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

If for some reason you can’t get it when you have the money, let me know. I do have an extra copy I’m planning to hold until the holiday season later this year. ๐Ÿ˜‰

          • Kim June 1, 2014, 7:45 PM

Ooo I’ll definitely keep that in mind thank you! To add to the dicussion, I have already looked at Ebay and Amazon for the Balloon Cart, going rate seems to be around $20 if you “buy it now” so I’m pretty confident I’ll be able to get a hold of it.

            • admin June 1, 2014, 8:23 PM

I think pricing will come down on those as more gets listed. $10-$15 is a more reasonable price on a small set like that.

              • Kim June 1, 2014, 8:57 PM

True. I paid $13.50 for my hot dog cart which was last year’s July summer polybag. But we’ll see if I’m willing to wait. I really want that balloon cart and $20 isn’t too much in my mind at this moment. Had I not just sent off $55 for my college application it would be mine!

      • Lloydguy June 2, 2014, 6:01 AM

Can’t you spend your VIP points at the LEGO store?

        • admin June 2, 2014, 10:06 AM

          Yes, you can! ๐Ÿ˜›

          • Lloydguy June 2, 2014, 8:03 PM

I thought so, but whenever I go I don’t have enough anyway ๐Ÿ™

  • Tom June 1, 2014, 4:47 PM

Ghostbusters and bennys as a gift. Happy days. Wish lego would release more sets that grab me at the moment but maybe castle 2015 will be good. The last “great” build I has was helms deep and MMV.

Having said that the fairground mixer set looks awesome even though its completely out of my normal taste.

    • admin June 1, 2014, 5:00 PM

Nice! Those are my two favorites from the current releases as well (Ghostbusters and Benny’s Spaceship). It is always tough when you are attracted to a set that is completely out of the normal range of sets you collect. You can either get it and not sure how to display it with the rest of your sets, or pass. I normally pass on the larger ones, but sometimes get smaller sets that don’t fit in with the rest of my LEGO collection. But yeah, it is not an easy choice. ๐Ÿ˜•

  • Meneldur June 2, 2014, 9:45 AM

Wow! I can’t wait to start collecting some of these! I love these Guardian of the Galaxy sets! There’s some cool colors. I also can’t wait for the LOTR sets. It seems like we’ve been waiting for forever to see some pics of the 3rd LOTR wave.
Those are some nice Ultra Agents sets as well!

    • BLProductions June 2, 2014, 9:55 AM

Yes, please let there be more LotR, I haven’t got one set from that theme. I started the books in 2013, so I missed the first wave! ๐Ÿ™

      • Meneldur June 2, 2014, 10:13 AM

Aw! I love the first wave! I have collected all the LOTR and Hobbit sets except the Tower of Orthanc. There’s so many awesome pieces in those sets.
The books are amazing. I’m hopefully going into digital cinematography as a director, editor, screenwriter, and eventually producer. I would love to create a Silmarillion film series.

        • BLProductions June 2, 2014, 12:02 PM

I’m hoping to get the Unexpected Gathering from the Hobbit, and possibly the Black Gate set. ๐Ÿ™‚ I would have liked to get Helm’s Deep, too, I want an Aragorn. ๐Ÿ˜•
I haven’t read the Silmarillion yet. Does it have a story line from the Second Age or something? ๐Ÿ˜• A film series sounds like a good idea, though.

          • Meneldur June 2, 2014, 10:15 PM

The Silmarillion is basically a history book of Middle-earth spanning from the creation of Middle-earth (Ea) to the third age of the Rings of Power. There’s a lot of doom. I’ve seen three LEGO MOCs created from the Silmarillion book.

  • trollninjago June 2, 2014, 7:07 PM
