BrickConnection – Texas LEGO fan event!

If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, there is a great LEGO event happing in your neighborhood this weekend. Organized by DFWLUG (The Dallas/Fort Worth LEGO Users’ Group), BrickConnection is fun for LEGO fans of all ages. Details are below. 🙂

BrickConnection LEGO Fan Event

BrickConnection features games and building contests for children and adults with over 100 prizes. LEGO displays include large town and historic displays, a large train display, robotics demonstrations, and superheroes, by award-winning LEGO artists Sean and Stephanie Mayo and many other talented LEGO builders.

There will also be a unique community build where participants will put together a large detailed LEGO display from start to finish. During the event experienced LEGO builders will teach the general public how to plan, organize, build landscape elements from LEGO, and incorporate various building techniques from simple to advanced. There will also be vendors selling various LEGO and LEGO-related merchandise.

BrickConnection LEGO Fan Event Details

BrickConnection takes place in the vastly populous Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in the Macy’s wing of the Golden Triangle Mall in Denton, Texas, USA. Public hours are Friday, May 8th, 2015 from 12pm to 8pm and Saturday, May 9th from 10am to 9pm local time. Admission is only $6 per adult (13 and up) and $4 per child (ages 2-12). Sounds awesome even though for me to get there I would have needed to start driving yesterday to get there before 12:00 🙁

This even was organized by the local LUG, so it is doubtful they would go beyond what is close enough for them. If there is a LEGO club near you, you can check with them and see what events they have. To be a recognized LUG, user groups must hold public events each year.

Oh, yeah, me too! It is a good idea to check out what LEGO events are in your area (or areas that you plan to visit), and mark it in your calendar ahead of time. Many of the largest LEGO conventions are yearly events.

I went by earlier tonight. A modest amount of displays. They’re just getting things started for that area and hoping to get bigger in upcoming years. There displays were a small selection of what is typically found at BrickFiesta.
