New LEGO Ninjago & LEGO Friends books

There are a couple of new LEGO books by DK Publishing that are worth checking out. DK Publishing is well known for their very high quality LEGO books with beautiful high resolution pictures, interesting information, and a friendly, easy-to-read format. Also, as a bonus, many of their LEGO books include a special minifigure inside the cover. So let’s take a look at the two books that just got released. 🙂

This book is of course for LEGO Ninjago fans. It is similar to the LEGO Ninjago Character Encyclopedia and the LEGO Ninjago Visual Dictionary, but with more updated information with new vehicles and characters. If you are a Ninjago fan it is a good idea to collect all three book as they are all excellent, or just get the one you like the most. I have the first two already and I highly recommend them. This latest book is hardcover, 96 pages, and includes a Sensei Wu minifigure. Recommended age is 7 and up. The price is a very reasonable $16. 99, and Amazon even has a bit of a discount on it at the time of this writing. You can find it here: BUY LEGO NINJAGO BOOK ON AMAZON

LEGO FRIENDS – THE ADVENTURE GUIDE: Featuring a minidoll with exclusive accessories! Join Mia, Stephanie, Emma, Andrea, and Olivia on their exciting adventures around Heartlake City and beyond in LEGO Friends: The Adventure Guide. Learn about their pets, personalities, dreams, and passions. Discover how the girls like to spend their days: find out what it takes to look after the horses at Heartlake Stables, get fashion tips from Emma, see what goes into organizing a surprise party, and learn about the girls’ dream jobs.

This LEGO book is also a substantial 96 pages, and includes a Kate minidoll with a basket and a small round tile with strawberry print. The style of the book is very similar to the LEGO Friends inserts in the LEGO Club Magazine, with details about the girls and their activities while also sharing ideas and suggestions for real life – such as simple tips for training a young puppy, organizing a party, etc. So the book is not just a great companion for LEGO Friends sets, but also a good read. Recommended age is 5 and up. The price is a very reasonable $16. 99, and Amazon even has a pretty substantial 25% discount on it at the time of this writing. Whether you choose these books by DK Publishing, or some of the earlier titles, you really can’t go wrong with any of them. The books are very high quality with durable paper and hard cover, the print is large and friendly and the pictures are vibrant and beautiful. I never met a kid (or even adult) who weren’t happy with these books. They are also great references if you are collecting a particular theme (like LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Legends of Chima, LEGO Friends, etc.) And they make great gifts too!

I have some of the previous DK Ninjago books and they are great. I may pick up this one as well. It is for kids but adults can enjoy it too. The pictures are very high quality.

I like the look of the Ninjago book. However, I would probably go for the Character Encyclopedia instead, since I want the Lloyd Kimono minifig. Speaking of which, what does the Sensei Wu included with the new book look like? Is he the same as appears in the summer Ninjago sets?
I also saw the DK Updated SW Character Encyclopedia at a store yesterday for $12.99, which I’m not sure is the normal price, as that’s cheaper than the two books in the article, despite the SW book being longer (I think). White Boba looks odd, I might add. 😕

Sensei Wu is his normal, white kimono version. Nothing special. I also don’t really care for white Boba Fett. I don’t really understand what all the hype is about. Just a while minifigs with a little bit of printing. 😐
