LEGO Dimensions Ghostbusters coming!

We talked about LEGO Dimensions at the end of last month (see links at the end of this post), and now there are more updates! At the recent gamescom event in Germany Warner Bros. revealed that the game will include another element called Adventure Worlds, which will be separate from the main story and allow players to unlock and explore fourteen different worlds for additional gameplay. 🙂

LEGO Dimensions Ghostbusters Pack

Each of the characters in the LEGO Dimensions packs can unlock a world based on that particular brand. So for example because the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack includes three characters – Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle – you will immediately have access to three Adventure Worlds: DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, and The LEGO Movie. The remaining Adventure Worlds can be unlocked by any character from the same franchise available in the LEGO Dimensions Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs. In the trailer below the robot guide X-PO shows you how all of this works.

Another exciting news is that Warner Bros. revealed a LEGO Dimensions Ghostbusters Level Pack with a Peter Venkman minifigure, and two LEGO Dimensions Ghostbusters Fun Packs with a Stay Puft minifigure and a Slimer! So far the response from LEGO fans and collectors have been overwhelmingly positive, so expect these packs to fly off the shelves just for the minifigures! (Please note that all LEGO Dimensions characters are regular minifigures. It is only the base they stand on that is special and related to the game.) Because of this news I also predict a revived interest in the #21108 LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 set, so if you don’t have it already and you are a Ghostbusters fan make sure you grab one!

LEGO Dimensions Ghostbuster Pack with Stay Puft

To recap, so far the LEGO Dimensions sets include the following licenses: DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, Doctor Who, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Jurassic World, The Simpsons, Scooby Doo, The Wizard of Oz, Portal, LEGO Ninjago, and LEGO Legends of Chima. That’s thirteen… which one are we missing?

LEGO Dimensions Ghostbusters Pack with Slimer

The LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack will be available for various gaming platforms for just about $100. There are also going to be at least five LEGO Dimensions Level Packs for $30, at least four LEGO Dimensions Team Packs for $25, and at least twenty-seven LEGO Dimensions Fun Packs for $15. LEGO Dimensions is scheduled to launch at the end of September, however many of the packs are already available on Amazon for pre-order. It might be a good idea to pre-order the packs you definitely want, because with the furry of activity and excitement around the whole line I wouldn’t be surprised if there will be a shortage after the initial launch. You can find them on Amazon here: PREORDER LEGO DIMENSIONS ON AMAZON

So what do you think? Are you looking forward to the LEGO Dimensions sets and game? Feel free to share your thoughts and discuss in the comment section below! 😉

The Stay Puft minifig is a must!

Yep! No doubt! I expect this set to fly off the shelves and very hard to find. So grab it as soon as you can! 😀

The one license you’re missing is Midway Arcade, which in Dimensions has an expansion pack #71235. I saw it on theBrickfan a few days ago: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-dimensions-midway-arcade-minifigure-revealed/
As far as Ghostbusters, they’re very cool, especially Stay Puft. 😀 I don’t particularly like the Slimer, but I suppose it’s a good minifig (if it can be called that) to get. I also note that the Ecto-1 in the Level Pack doesn’t have rear wheels… but I think the design makes it impossible to add them. 😐

I haven’t even noticed the missing rare wheels. That’s pretty strange. Yeah, I saw the Midway Arcade minifig after I finished writing this post, but decided not to update it as new information is coming out all the time. I just had to cut it off somewhere. Slimer is pretty interesting. I’m definitely getting it (probably off of BrickLink), because I just have to have one for my Ecto-1, but I agree that it could have been better. However the Stay Puft minifigs is a definite winner! 😀

I did a news update on this a few days ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ih9pv_buyt4

I’m am going to be so broke because of the packs, and I most likely won’t even be buying the game (unless it came out for PC).

I really want Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. I felt the Ecto-1 would have been so much better if it came with a ghost, such as Slimer. This will make it feel much more complete. The demon dog is a nice touch too.

The wife wants the Wizard of Oz packs. I really do hope they eventually come out with some official Oz sets.
The other packs look great too.

Dang it! My wallet is about to get quite less heavy.

Now I know why the level packs are so expensive! I didn’t know you got a whole world with them. I just thought you got the figures and a single level. Cool!

No kidding dude. Just want all but the China ones.

    Oops. Autocorrect. I meant Chima.
