December 2016 – new LEGO sets & promotions

It’s December already! Can you believe it? While November is usually the biggest, as far as LEGO sales and promotions, December also has a lot to offer for last minute holiday shoppers, and those who want to get an early dip into next year’s sets. There is quite a bit to talk about, so let’s dive in! 🙂

FREE 2017 LEGO COLORABLE WALL CALENDAR: You will get a free LEGO Wall Calendar with purchases of $75 or more until December 11th. This year’s LEGO Wall Calendar is quite different from the previous ones, as it only contains coloring pages and no coupons for next year. It is going to be enjoyable for kids who like to do some coloring, but it is sad to see the coupons no longer being offered.

DOUBLE VIP POINTS ON EVERYTHING: This is only a two-day deal, December 10-11, so make sure you don’t miss out. This will be a great time to get the new 2017 sets and earn Double VIP Points! You can find all the new listings under the New Items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

FREE LEGO GINGERBREAD MAN: The LEGO Gingerbread Man is back! You can get him from December 12-18 with purchases of $50 or more. Sadly, this offer doesn’t overlap with the Double VIP Points period, so you will have to choose which one you prefer; Gingerbread Man or Double VIP Points. Tough decision!

2017 LEGO SETS AVAILABLE: We have talked about the new sets the other day (see: First Wave of 2017 LEGO Sets Available Now!), but to recap, a large number of 2017 LEGO sets are now listed. This includes the first wave of The LEGO Batman Movie sets, three of the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls sets, two LEGO Disney Moana sets, four LEGO Technic sets, a large selection of LEGO City and LEGO Creator sets, and three LEGO Juniors sets. You can find them all under the New Items section of the Online LEGO Shop.

LEGO SETS ON CLEARANCE SALE: LEGO also put a number of the previously released sets on sale. The clearance went live on Black Friday, so the selection has been depleted quite a bit, but you might still find something interesting. All the discounted sets are all listed under the Sales & Deals section of the Online LEGO Shop.

If you haven’t done your Christmas shopping yet, there is still time, just keep in mind that December 20th by noon is the cutoff for your order to arrive by Christmas. Also, remember the two days when LEGO offers Double VIP Points. This will likely be the last Double VIP Points period we see until well into next year. And don’t forget about the cute Gingerbread Man available mid-month! If you would like to get any of the 2017 sets for Christmas, I would suggest that you get them as soon as possible, especially the popular ones like the LEGO DC Super Hero Girls sets, the LEGO Disney Moana sets, and The LEGO Batman Movie sets. Of course they will be available for a while, but they will likely go on backorder before the holidays.

What do you think? Are you planning to pick up any of the 2017 sets? Or do some final Christmas shopping? What are you getting? And what do you hope Santa will bring you? Feel free to share and discuss in the comment section below. 😉

I like the new City sets. Not expensive, but the cars are solid. The buggy and the orange one. And can’t wait to try out those Batman Movie sets. They look really fun!

Yeah, the Buggy and the Stunt Truck are fun (I assume that’s what you meant). The Batman Movie sets similar to what we got with The LEGO Movie in terms of playability and clever features, and of course with Batman and company. 😀

Hi there, is there any chance 2x vip in Europe (Portugal)?

    • admin December 1, 2016, 9:18 PM

Bruno, I’m not sure. I would suggest that you call your local LEGO store.

It doesn’t seem that Portugal has a specialized Lego store.

        Not even in Lisbon.
