Little LEGO goldfish with building instructions

At the core of the LEGO building system are basic elements like bricks, plates, tiles, slopes and wheels, but there are also many interesting parts with unusual shapes and connection points. Spending time with these special pieces is always a rewarding experience. As you examine the pieces, turn them and connect them in various ways, all kinds of creatures and magical things can come to life. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is exactly what happened for LEGO fan gonkius, who was experimenting with some 2×2 curved slopes with unusual angles and ridges. Gonkius had four of the pieces in orange, and while playing around with them, suddenly a goldfish appeared!

The cute little goldfish turned out to be quite popular, so gonkius also provided building instructions. As you can see, most of the pieces used are basic; a handful of small plates, tiles, and jumper-plates (1×2 plates with one stud in the middle), a few 1×1 bricks with studs on the sides, some curved slopes, and four of the 2×2 modified slopes (for the head of the goldfish).

To make the instructions more clear and easy to follow, gonkius used different colors for each type of element, but of course, you can use any color. I actually like the rainbow colored goldfish a lot! Or, is that now a rainbow fish?

Playing around with special LEGO pieces is a good challenge that can exercise your imagination and help you improve your building skills. You can even organize building challenges and contests with your friends and family centered on creatively using special LEGO elements. Such an event is always full of delightful and surprising discoveries. And if you need a bunch of loose LEGO pieces to work with, check out the LEGO Classic selection at the Online LEGO Shop.

What do you think? How do you like the little LEGO goldfish? Are you planning to build your own? Do you experiment with interesting LEGO pieces to see what you can build with them? Which are your favorite special and unusual LEGO pieces? Feel free to share and discuss your own discoveries in the comment section below! ๐Ÿ˜‰

CUTIE… LOVE THE ADORABLE GOLD FISH… After our success of getting all the Lego Batman Minifigurens 20 from the blind bangs. We went for Ninjago blind bag for the set success…went in town yesterday, saw the new Batman Blind bag wave. plunged in and got a complete set…

As long as you feel for Lego parts you will not fail in getting a complete set.. Good luck everyone on your Lego find journey… Am considering the Lego idea fishing store, elves is a must and the price is modest…

Got them all a Coles Book store, I live in Canada. When we went in town, Wall Mart was a bust, sure they had the first Batman wave, however took forever to get the first wave ninjago set. They only had one empty ninjago wave box, they had more in the back on the skit, but forget asking them to check it out, they will get to it when they feel like it, the service went down hill. Sad really, a store that set up shop mostly Christmas time, had them however I miscalculated and end up with one double and one triple.. That is why I feel the bag first before I open… Returned the ones I had extra found one I was looking for other no luck. So I went to book store to try my luck, got the last one needed.., saw the new Batman wave went through them all. Found the ones wanted. Paid went to different part of store felt the bag confirmed, however 2 Batman mermaids so I was missing Alfred with guitar. Went back to exchange Success… Got Exactly what we were looking for. Want no copies feel the bag… Warning, feel the bag again just in case you miscalculated or mixed up one with one you already have… The new Batman wave has a barman Symbol design on flat display part.. Not sure if they will make this a habit…

Yes, the print on the stands was a nice surprise with this wave. I’m glad to hear that you were able to get all of them! It’s a nice collection, and the parts and accessories are very useful. ๐Ÿ™‚

This will be a great activity for my boys! It’s so cold, it’s impossible to go outside! Three boys inside the house all day will drive you nuts. Anything to keep them occupied helps.

Rebrick is a good resource for alternate instructions, and also the LEGO Creator website has some. ๐Ÿ™‚
