LEGO DC Super Heroes Ultimate Quiz Book

An interesting and engaging book that was recently released by DK Publishing is the LEGO DC Super Heroes Ultimate Quiz Book – 1000 Brain Busting Questions! I have been keeping the book at my desk, and looking through the questions whenever I have some downtime. There is a lot to like here, so I thought I share the book with you in more detail. 🙂

First of all, here is the official description of the book: Find out how much of a superfan you are with over 1000 mind-boggling trivia questions, including picture quizzes, true and false sections, and bonus “genius questions”. Become a quizmaster and test your friends and family with hours of entertaining LEGO DC Super Heroes trivia. With chapters on superheroes and supervillains, you can find out incredible facts about every aspect of the LEGO DC Super Heroes Universe including amazing superpowers, cool vehicles, and secret identities. How did the Flash get his powers, where is Superman’s secret base located, and what is the name of Green Lantern’s alter ego? Which supervillain was once elected president and where does Nth metal come from? Discover the answers to all these questions and many more in the LEGO DC Super Heroes Ultimate Quiz Book! Paperback – 128 pages. Price: $9.99. – BUY ON AMAZON

The book is paperback, with a durable, nice and shiny cover. The pages are also high quality and in full color, with vibrant images. There is not a single dull or boring page in this entire book! The dimensions are 9×6 inches, so it is just the right size to easily throw in a bag, or travel with on long car trips. 115 pages contain over 1,000 questions, and the last 10 plus pages at the back of the book provide all the answers in case you get stuck.

The book is divided into three sections with several categories. The first section covers questions about superheroes like Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Flying Fox, The Flash, the Justice League, Teen Titans, etc., and also cover alter egos, allies, powers, hidden talents, weaknesses, training, hero vehicles, hideouts, costumes, hero technology, origin stories, and more. Each section includes about 10-30 true or false questions, multiple-choice questions, and sometimes a bonus “genius question” which are pretty hard. At the bottom of each page, there is a reference to the page where you can find the answers at the back of the book.

The second section covers questions about supervillains, including Lex Luthor, The Joker, Catwoman, crazy crooks, Arkham Asylum residents, alien terrors, weird and deadly villains, and archenemies. Questions about Jokerland, epic battles, infamous heists, and villainous vehicles are also covered. Here also, you get lots of true or false questions, multiple-choice questions, and some bonus questions for the most knowledgeable DC Super Heroes fans.

The third and final section covers the DC Super Heroes Universe. You will find questions about Gotham City, Metropolis, Krypton, family relations and romantic relations, animals aiding the heroes and villains, alien worlds, clones and disguises, time travel and mind control, mysterious artifacts, and much more.

You might ask why is this is released as a LEGO-branded book instead of just a generic DC Super Heroes book? The images throughout the book are of minifig versions of the characters, vehicles, and settings, and in addition, some of the questions are about specific sets released under the LEGO DC Super Heroes line. So while most of the question are about classic superhero and supervillain trivia, there is some connection to LEGO. Also, all that LEGO imagery makes the book fun and kid-friendly. While the book is recommend for kids as young as 5, older kids and even adults can enjoy it as well. Frankly, I feel the book is more appropriate for kids 7-12 or older. Many of the questions are quite challenging, and you really have to know superhero and supervillain facts to be able to answer them.

In summary, if kids and adults in your family are absorbed in DC Super Heroes stories, this book offers a great opportunity to test your fandom knowledge while having fun. You can even challenge each other to see who can answer the most questions correctly in each section. I hope that they will release a similar book for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes in the near future! Are they going to make a book like this for Marvel too? I like the idea.

No news on a Marvel version yet, but I assume they will publish one. It would make sense.

Are there any short stories in the book, or it’s just the quizzes?

    • admin August 3, 2018, 5:45 PM

Just quizzes. Lots and lots of quizzes. The book is very interactive. 🙂

This could be great for long car trips. How is the text? Is it easy to read? It’s hard to read small text in the car.

    • admin August 3, 2018, 5:46 PM

Hm… the size of the text is on fairly small. Like 12? And the answers at the back of the book are even smaller. I guess you can take turns reading the questions and answers so nobody gets dizzy. 😀

Ha! This looks like a great trivia book for parties and to challenge my friends. Might get it, but I also want a Marvel version.

Something like this makes a good birthday and Christmas gift if you don’t want to spend too much. That’s what we use lego books for. People usually appreciate it.
