Online LEGO Shop in five more countries!

If you don’t have an official LEGO store near you, the Online LEGO Shop is one of the best places to enjoy a full LEGO shopping experience, including access to the full assortment of currently available sets, exclusive products and promotions each month, extended line items, and other unique services like LEGO Pick-A-Brick (where you can purchase LEGO elements by the piece). The Online LEGO Shop has been available in 24 countries, including the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, a number of countries in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. Recently, LEGO announced that they are expanding into five new countries; Slovakia, Greece, Latvia, Estonia, and Slovenia. 🙂

To commemorate this milestone, the Online LEGO Shop is running a promotion at the five new locations, with an opportunity to win a one-of-a-kind buildable flag. This extremely limited and rare set is not available for purchase anywhere.

If you are located in one of the five new countries added to the list, you can enter the promotion for a chance to win in two ways. First, you can simply make a purchase at the Online LEGO Shop of one of the five countries, and you’ll automatically be entered for a chance to win. Alternatively, you may also send an email to WinaFlag@LEGO.com (no purchase necessary). This special promotion ends on September 23rd, so you have just about a month to enter.

To check out the new Online LEGO Shop pages and to learn more about the promotion, select from the links to the Online LEGO Shop of the newly added countries below:

If you are in one of the five new countries added to the list, have fun shopping! And if your country is still not on the list, there is hope that it will be added soon. The Online LEGO Shop team is working on adding other countries, but there are many logistics involved including dealing with different currencies, shipping, customer service, etc. One awesome day young and old LEGO fans from all countries might be able to shop from LEGO directly! What do you think? Feel free to share your own online shopping experiences in the comment section below! 😉

Good for them! I wish there was a store in every city! 😀

Those look like very interesting maps. Are they like 3D mosaics on baseplates?

    • brickmaster August 28, 2018, 2:37 PM

It does look like a mosaic, but instead of just using plates, they add more texture by also using bricks and other parts. Pretty cool.

I wonder how they are built. Are they on two large baseplates?

They seem to be larger than just a couple of standard baseplates. I’m curious too! 😀

That’s great, growth and expansion is always good for companies . Sadly my store is closing and moving to a different location. It was easy for me at the first location, be cause I would take just one bus ride and i was their. Now if I want to go to the new location, it much harder for me . It’s just not worth it. I guess I can go on Lego shop .com. It’s a lot more fun to go to and shop at a Lego store. I also know this will probably cut back on my frequent set buying considerably. So, I’m a little down about, but , what can you do.

    • admin August 28, 2018, 4:15 PM

That’s sad. Do you know why they are moving?

  • Legostuff14 August 28, 2018, 4:53 PM

The Lego store is in a mall so , the space that they had the contract or lease was up and the mall what more money . They were asked for to much. Come January 1st the Lego store will be in the new location ( actually, the new location will be open in October) . Which also means the inventory would be low in the old location . So ,shopping for new sets are going to be a challenge. ( for any sets for that matter).

Oh, I see. Yeah, malls can be an expensive place to rent from. But that’s why malls are going out of business. So they have to be careful too. A LEGO store is a big attraction for a mall. Anyway, hope you find a workaround.

I don’t know how so many malls can stay in business. Most of them tend to look alike with their focus on mass-produced goods and clothing already sold everywhere else…. In Stockholm, it’s like every borough has its own mall, even though it’s about 20 minutes between them by bike or local transport. I fail to see how there could be a market…

        • admin August 30, 2018, 11:14 AM

Here, malls have been closing left and right. They were popular decades ago (before the Internet age where people had few indoor places to entertain themselves), and they have been replaced by shopping centers.

          • Håkan September 2, 2018, 4:46 AM

Maybe many malls here in Stockholm actually are shopping centers. I don’t know the exact difference.

Anyhow, the question still stands, but maybe there are many people with well-paid jobs, living in a consumer culture. Myself, I have to start motivating my purchases both considering money and space…

Looking up Wikipedia, it seems that the terminology even differed between different English-speaking countries.

At least here in the U.S., malls are big, unified buildings with lots of smaller shop, restaurants, etc. You park once, and you can walk from store to store inside the mall. Shopping centers are lots of smaller buildings and they don’t look as centralized, but they do have shared parking space. At least in my area, shopping centers are favored right now. We have lots of open space and great weather all year round, so spread out shopping centers are not a problem. In older cities, the more compact design of malls is favorable because there is no room to build anything spread out. Also, in Northern cities with harsh winters malls work much better, as you can walk around inside the mall to get everything done. You can’t do that in shopping centers. When I lived in Chicago, families spent entire days at the mall on winter weekends. They went shopping, had lunch, watched a movie, etc.

Well there’s always target. So, i can still get my Lego fix .Lol. I’m also thinking it’s time for me to slow down on the collecting . I have a lot of Lego sets ( about 12 years worth) so, I’m not hurting for sets , I’ll just miss out on the new Lego smell you get when you open a new set. Lol! I think my goal for the end year set purchasing Assembly Square, diner and the Sanctum sanctorum. ( mostly Christmas stuff).

    • admin August 29, 2018, 8:12 PM

That’s a good plan. The rest of the year should be pretty quiet as far as new large sets, besides of course, the Modular, and the Winter Village set. 🙂
