Merry Christmas & Happy LEGO Build Day!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of our readers, subscribers, contributors, and friends! This has been an unusual year for sure with many challenges and uncertainties, but also a year where we could really lean on and get a deeper appreciation of the LEGO hobby. The LEGO company, as well as LEGO fan sites, communities, and forums have been experiencing similar buzz as in 2014 when The LEGO Movie was released. People have been turning to LEGO (and similar hobbies) to take their mind off of the scary things happening, and to keep themselves engaged with positive and creative endeavors.

For many families, opening LEGO gifts and building together are already part of the Christmas tradition, and now, more than ever, LEGO building can be a fun way to spark family togetherness. To celebrate the joy of building and to demonstrate the incredible community LEGO fans gain by being part of this hobby, LEGO is running a campaign to officially establish a new holiday event; LEGO Build Day. Below are the details and information on how you can participate.

Hello, LEGO friends! We’re reaching out to ask your help in establishing a new LEGO Holiday… LEGO Build Day! Share a moment. Build a memory. The holiday season is a magical time. We may not remember exactly the gifts we received, but we remember how we felt. The anticipation. The excitement. The joy. Together they create some of the strongest and happiest memories we have. Ones we look on through a warm nostalgic lens.

For many, LEGO was, and still is, a big part of those memories. Parents who played with LEGO as children now give LEGO gifts of their own. They warmly watch as their kids excitedly unbox gifts filled with bricks and joy. As we celebrate these diverse memories of LEGO, we want to ask for your help in making December 26th—a new LEGO holiday—and a truly memorable tradition every year.

What can you do to help? Share your love of LEGO as usual, but if you can, sprinkle in some of what makes LEGO at holiday time extra special—your first or favorite LEGO holiday memory, your favorite set from when you were a child, the set you want most this year, etc. Just use the LEGO Build Day hashtag when you do (see below).

Join in on December 26th when we will celebrate our first LEGO Build Day holiday together. We’ll be sharing some fun content and encouraging everyone to build, share, and most importantly have fun. We appreciate your support. Thank you!

If you are already in the habit of sharing your LEGO creations online, adding the hastag is a simple way to participate in the event, and you can also search for the hashtag to see what other people are building. And of course, you’re also welcome to discuss what you got for Christmas and what projects you’re working on in the comment section below.

Merry Christmas everyone. I will be building this weekend, but I don’t really care for the online sharing thing.

I’m not big into online sharing either, especially with so many people stealing mocs, but I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas anyway!

I think from the Lego sets I got for Christmas, it’s going to be a Lego build month for me. Lol. ( not complaining. Just excited for the journey). 🎄🎅🤶 Merry Christmas.

Hmm, I think the largest Lego set I have received at Christmas is 6086 Black Knight’s Castle. Which is a pretty cool set, although currently nothing I have plans of rebuilding anytime soon.
